Good fight on Bt sport. Woodstock v Poxton.

I think it's the supporting bout to Josh Warrington.

Brilliant fight, so many punches landed on the chin. Woodstock from Leicester is a decent fighter.

  2. Didn't see it but Groves seems to have done a job on Cox tonight.

Groves v Eubank is a good fight, for me it's a difficult call. Possibly Eubank by points.

Listened to BJ Saunders on talk sport this week and he wants more bouts. He talks a good fight, but I guess he deserves some respect for his record so far.

  3. Listened to it on 5 live and the atmosphere sounded like it was coming from a leisure centre.

Bunce had it a draw, but admitted before the result that the judges could easily side with Parker.

David Price had it by 5 rounds to Fury based on boxing skill, and Costello had it by 2 rounds to Fury.

Neither Bunce or Costello were overly surprised by the result.

They admitted Furys style was not exzctly eye catching to the tv companies and didn't really know what was next for Fury.  They said America was a non starter.

Peter Fury interviewed well, thought his lad had won but was constantly telling him to show more aggression and basically admitted he didn't.

As for the interview straight after the result with Mick Hennessey, what a balloon........the worst result in the history of boxing and calling our corruption at the highest levels of the WBO.......

Davies has that Klitschko sort of front foot defence going on and he sort of springs out of his stance to punch. That left shoulder turned over makes him even harder to hit.

I thought Taylor showed great skill to firstly make Davies pounce and then batter his body as Davies opened up. Then after Davies had lost some composure and started swinging wildly it looked like Taylor's to lose. What amazing work to the body he displays every time he fights. Full range of skills. Even trading with Davies and coming out on top. Proper demo job. He'd beat Burns.

And while I understand him going in to finish Davies at the end he continued to attack after the referee stepped across. Forget how up Cyclone's bum Channel 5 is... that wasn't "fair game"

Saw on Boxnation that Anthony Yarde had a good win that might escalate him towards a big domestic fight. He seems like he's going to be hard to match up. Too new for the big names but too good for those at his level.

@CWC1983 any idea what the trouble was? I was watching the Channel 5 show. Agree about Burns... he doesn't fancy that. He's struggled with worse

It sounds like Mcness has a big West Ham following. As soon as the fight was stopped you could hear some commotion in the crowd that got gradually worse and BT went to an extended ad break. Frank Warren at the end of the show was calling on the authorities to take action as he thinks boxing should be more family friendly......

The last place I would take a family would be a boxing show on a Saturday night during the football off season.

  5. Taylor v Davis was some fight. Toe to toe. Taylor looks to have a chin and good boxing skills.

Interesting body language with Ricky Burns. Not convinced Burns fancies the fight.......

    Alex Arthur hasn't aged well.

Edinburgh seems to be churning out some decent boxers.

  6. Just turned over to box nation and there's a load of trouble in the crowd after the Byfield fight. The MC calling for order and Byfield getting out of the ring asap.

  7. Joshua v Klitchko predictions?

I've put a tenner on Klitchko just for the value. I'm hoping Joshua wins in style, but is Vlad a step too far at this stage of his career?

I can see Vlad do a Fury on Joshua by jabbing and moving for 12 rounds and racking up the points.

  8. There was some boxing on a channel called Spike last night.  Josh Taylor from Edinburgh looked a good prospect, he has a 8 - 0 record and is eying up a fight with Ricky Burns. He is trained by Shane McGuigan and Barry was ringside with Frampton.

Anthony Crolla is talking about good fight tonight, hopefully he has enough left in the tank. 5 live at 1015pm for me.

Bonkers. Haye was schooling him up to the point Haye ruptured his achilles. No fan of Haye's but he has my admiration for fighting half the bout on one leg. Like a throwback to years gone by that was. Bellew wins but where does he go from here? It's not like his stock will have risen after that.

We've done boxing this week, rugby last, what's next week? Tennis, shinty? ?

  10. This week's BBC boxing podcast is worth a listen. Bunce and Costello previewing tonight's fight and talk about Khan v Pacquiao.

Bunce can't see it going past 2 rounds and calls it a mismatch, Costello thinks 6 minutes in the ring over the past 5 years might catch up with Haye.

  11. Pretty sure I saw Bellew v an Argentinian on a Froch undercard at the icerink a few years ago. It wasn't the prettiest of fights and I got the impression he lacked a punch. His best chance is to test Haye's stamina and heart in the later rounds.
