jono got a reaction from Ewe Ram in Random stuff that people do that annoy me
Vouchers, club cards, loyalty points, special credit cards .. all that guff that you get persuaded is great but it is a huge waste of my time.
please .. offer me a client ID card, fair enough. At the end of the year promise me something based on what I spend. Nothing else is needed, it just crowds my brain space and doesn’t incentivise me. If you want to get rid of some stock then lower the price. Everything else is BS

I thought the same but there was a good debate on Question time last night about zero contract hours.
It suits some people, some audience members spoke favourably, especially the flexibility element of them.

jono got a reaction from Comrade 86 in Car you currently drive?
Oh cars, I love em but it’s hard now with crowded roads and necessary policing to have a thrash. There isn’t really a safe place to do it responsibly anymore.
18 months ago my 35 year affair with Alfa Romeo ended. Short of a lotto win the ones with an engine worth having are gone.
loved my sud Ti .. despite the rust. Sold my 164 3.0 24 valve when it had done 140,000 miles and was still singing like Callas. What an engine.
finally ended up with a German. 64 plate A4 avant 3.0 tdi Quattro. No soul but it’s insanely efficient, how can 6 pots and 242BHP give you 50 to the gallon .. but driven carefully it does.
Cant wait for electrics to be truly universal. All that torque and throttle response but the infrastructure has a long way to go.

For what it's worth..... I Do about 25 - 30,000 miles a year. Vast majority of it on motorway. The last 3 cars I've had, have all been 1.6 diesels. Never had an issue with the engine size.

Thinking of taking my Beemer back for a refund, as the brakes and indicators both work. Something's not right.

The future of driving, the Tesla Model S.
Totally electric, so zero emissions. Accelerates way faster than a porsche. No engine so massive storage space as it's front and back. No rubbish like gear levers (just a control on the steering wheel). Giant touchscreen. 300+ miles on a full charge. Gets better after you buy it through over-the-air updates. Can actually drive itself, if only it were legal! Free electricity for ever, via their network of supercharger stations (there's one 10 minutes from me). So unbelievably safe, no one has ever died in an accident driving a Tesla. The Model S is the one on the left. Lovely little details, like you'll see the door handles become flush with the car when you're not using them, to lower air resistance.
PS Actually, I'm still saving up, but it will be mine soon - oh yes...

A Stock photo but mine looks just like this one. Traded in my BMW 1-Series last year for the KIA Optima. Much more practical for the family.
