Agree . Brown needs a good year in U21s and must show consistent scoring returns and keep injury free.

In all seriousness (ish), if the club believe for example Brown, who did well yesterday and others will know better than me, will be ready to feature in the squad regularly in a year or 2, it makes sense to have a year or 2 option now, who will likely then move on to be replaced by the youngster

Myself and many others who live abroad or cant get to games pay a substantial monthly subscription to Rams TV. I dont shut mine down in the close season. I continue to pay even though there are no games to watch for a couple of months. Have done this since RamsTV and showing live games started however many years ago that was. 
 
Im far from being wealthy so its quite a large amount from my monthly income whats left over.
So… am I on my own thinking its very cheeky asking for extra money to watch pre season friendlies like today? A fiver isnt much to many but I think this is a bit of a misstep from the club. 

I wouldn’t disagree with that.
I actually have a feeling that Collins might be the surprise of the season for us- particularly if he gets a couple of early goals to boost his confidence. I think a repeat of the 25 goal season with Luton when they got promoted from League 1 might even be on. Just have a gut feeling.

He speaks very well in his interview with the club. When asked what fans can expect he said “pace, power, running in behind is one of my favourite things to do”. Also acknowledged that he needs to score more goals, so he has that awareness, and wants to work on making sure he does. Spoke about the importance of the right system to help with that as well as his own efforts. Also said he’s fit and ready to go so must be over his injury/surgery.

Experience of promotion, international player, hard working and knows the staff so will hopefully settle in quickly. Might not be the glamour signing some want but I think he’ll earn a fair bit of support in time. 
 
Also…the Rotherham manager is a bloody liar isn’t he?!

some will pin it all on the manager but the reality is we’re in a league that no (us included) wants to be in. Forest had exactly the same problem attracting their targets i remember their fans going nuts as the lost out on targets to the likes of hull and Barnsley (yes thats right, the mighty barnsely) because said player didnt want to drop down to league 1.
theres going to be a massive wake up call for many, although it is easier and more convenient for them to blame the manager
i am still totally undecided on warne, but i just want to see a derby have a good 2-3 years chance at moulding their squad instead of the in the door for 8-9 months and back out again madness weve had for however long.
it didnt work so why not try the the stability route instead

Alfie May going to Charlton for 250k. Only reason I can think of us not bidding is that he is getting a 3 year deal at the age of 30. I know there’s a couple of people on here who have got many things right but when you ask any journalist about Sonny Bradley you get nothing. I just hope we don’t end up with Washington. 

It comes down to trust. If you can trust Clowes and Warne to know what they are doing then it will all come good.

I think we can spend a fair whack of money guesstimating around 750k, Warne isn’t going to come out and say we’ve got a huge budget because then every club we go into negotiation with does an Exeter with us and Ollie Watkins 

Don’t mind Washington if he’s one of three new strikers. If he’s the workhorse that creates chances and the others can put them away, that’s fine by me.

Unless I've completely made it up, I think out of contract players still get paid by their old club in July if they don't get signed by another club?
Perhaps we have agreed signings training with us but they're delaying signing with us if they're getting a lower wage at Derby than at their old club? 🤷‍♂️

Personally think we should bring in both. Then it would be Nelson, Bradley & Flint in for Davies, Chester & Stearman.

Many people seem to be ignoring Barkhuizen as a real option.
He showed enough at Preston and in flashes last season to suggest that he could be a big player at this level.
Hopefully a good pre season will give him the required fitness levels to perform more consistently next season.

The perfect player to cover both wingback positions would be Steven Sessegnon who was released by Fulham. 23 and had a couple solid loan spells and can play both wingback roles comfortably

...until you remember that 3 of them were over 2 games against Torquay, the team then rock bottom of the National League who ended up being relegated to the 6th tier.
He only scored in 3 of his 21 appearances, with his only league goals being a brace against Accrington (also relegated at the end of the season)
