Just to add balance to my negativity around the Jordan Rhodes rumour.
I actually think Connor Washington is a good signing and I think he will be a fans favourite by the end of August.
We just need a younger player to play alongside.

I also take every tenuous snippet of rumour as gospel - and am outraged at the club because of it.

Ward was confirmed as being in Derby rather than Spain by Richie Barker a couple of days ago. Ward, Washington and Barkhuizen didn’t travel. It’s also been mentioned in interviews that Elder and Sibley have missed some sessions during the week due to carrying slight issues.

Could be reading too much into it but when Warne was talking about wing back options, he mentioned Forsyth at a push but not Sibley. Perhaps that's because he sees him playing in his natural position but considering he played a fair few games in that role last season, it was surprising he didn't get a mention..

Unless you watched the academy games, then you saw him as one of the very best players in the country at his age and the reason why we rejected a £5m bid from Wolves at the time. 
I’ve watched a lot of academy football over the past decade and I’ve seen very, very few players who were close to him at his age. I think anyone who watched him come up has a similar opinion. The fact we haven’t been able to develop him further is sickening - he had all the tools to be such a special player. I still hold out hope that we, and he, can turn it around but it’s a big year. 

In all seriousness (ish), if the club believe for example Brown, who did well yesterday and others will know better than me, will be ready to feature in the squad regularly in a year or 2, it makes sense to have a year or 2 option now, who will likely then move on to be replaced by the youngster

Unusual but sensible, when you had Mel Morris you’d have probably given him a 5 year deal on £30k per week.

Tbf we've lost McGoldrick, Davies, Stearman, Chester...our new signings might be older but some of those leaving are bordering on care in the community 

Mel literally pulled the plug just as we started to produce the product he was creating. He was literally about to see the academy shine in the first team in the championship and then make profit on those players when they move on. Unfortunately for him and more importantly us, we sold some fantastically talented youth products for peanuts 

Agree . Brown needs a good year in U21s and must show consistent scoring returns and keep injury free.

Help me here.
Myself and many others who live abroad or cant get to games pay a substantial monthly subscription to Rams TV. I dont shut mine down in the close season. I continue to pay even though there are no games to watch for a couple of months. Have done this since RamsTV and showing live games started however many years ago that was. 
 
Im far from being wealthy so its quite a large amount from my monthly income whats left over.
So… am I on my own thinking its very cheeky asking for extra money to watch pre season friendlies like today? A fiver isnt much to many but I think this is a bit of a misstep from the club. 

I wouldn’t disagree with that.
I actually have a feeling that Collins might be the surprise of the season for us- particularly if he gets a couple of early goals to boost his confidence. I think a repeat of the 25 goal season with Luton when they got promoted from League 1 might even be on. Just have a gut feeling.
