Ah the matchday threads. I always use them to base my opinion on. From the crying over the starting 11, to the prediction of another incoming defeat, to the in play moaning we aren't winning, to the disappearing acts when we win. I love them.

So the only supporting evidence you can offer for your opinion (that's all it is, after all), is the match threads? That's it?
You got your the rise out of folk, you sought, so well done on that score, but I think this is the point at which I take my leave from this rather mundane interaction.

You saw the games. You think we achieved an acceptable level of consistency, in footballing terms ?  A glance at the match day threads would suggest not

Also highest points total ever, by ANY manager.

He needs to do another interview, so he can get bashed for that, as we seem to be going over old ground again.

Or maybe the fact we haven't signed anyone yet shows that he can't attract players...waiting for that one 😉

Fewest goals conceded, best goal difference in the league, highest points total and highest number of away wins in the club's history.
If we even get vaguely close to replicating that level of 'inconsistency' anytime soon, I shall be thoroughly delighted.

Not quite sure how a team can be inconsistent throughout and average 2 points a game ? Efficient would be the word I’d use

We started out with 6 contracted senior players after admin. How much more stripped out did we need to be for you to give Warne any kudos?
The re-build is a credit to both Rosenior and Warne, end of. Very few teams that drop to L1 escape as quickly as we have and almost none post-administration. I'm proud of that, irrespective of how much you try to belittle it.

He’s been pretty open on mental health struggles. A lot of his recent career has been down to lack of confidence and also managers not playing to his strengths. Manning was the wrong manager for him, Buckingham plays to his strengths. Warne’s tactics would be perfect for him and I think he’d thrive here.
Hes still a serious player, the play off final proved that. Oxford need to do everything possible to keep him as i really think he’ll do well in the championship next season. I would be very happy if we signed him.

i agree. not sure of his personal life but if hes got a young family he may want to stay local. that might make up for lesser wages. on the other hand. at 30. he may think this is his last decent contract

I was very much a let’s see what happens when he came. Guys like Cocu who dream of something better always appeal more to me but here was a pragmatist with method for a purpose. One thing I was certain about was patience. Merry go round sackings just don’t work. PW has really grown on me. There’s a lot of intelligence behind the quirky remarks and he built a dressing room. I like him.

Lol very good! People making silly jokes about our recent form, then you trump them all with a much better gag, pretending to be overly critical about some throwaway line Warne has recently said!
Funny thing is, there will probably be some people who think you are been serious, the same people who posted much more about Warne's media comments than actual matches!

I'm sure it's not deliberate but the way he put's things across sound dreadful.  If you ain' got as much money to offer as others, then how you come across to someone you've met for a hour makes the difference.
"You meet players, you try and financially put something together that's competitive. They meet other clubs and then everyone seems to go on holiday conveniently when there's a decision to be made. For example, a player has now gone to Portugal for two weeks and it's 'Look Paul, nothing's going to happen for the next two weeks, OK?'

Not sure about Gandhi mate! He was known to be fairly anit-Semitic and was a bit of a knob at a personal level, I think.
And Mandela was involved in a lot of bombings and terrorist attacks.
Both were loved by hundreds of millions, but by no means was it universal.

Just caught up on the whole hour (well, 45 minutes) on the TalkSPORT app.
It's important that he takes opportunities like this and gets himself into the media to build a reputation. He comes across really well and a lot of the neutral supporters tend to really like him his approach.
He's clearly working really hard behind the scenes, it seems as though the recruitment team have done a lot of work and now is the important part of putting it all together. Obviously he was very coy on budgets, but sounds like he knows the scale of the task at hand and knows the ability of the players required.  I think it will be more competitive than people anticipate.

Excuses and more excuses. The reason I lean into the star struck theory is that I have no other way of understanding how people incessantly run cover for Rooney. Of course no other Championship teams had any injuries to contend with that season. Of course all the referees were biased against us. Of course Middlesbrough deliberately lost to Wycombe. It isn't ringing any alarm bells that you have to resort to conspiracy theories to defend Rooney's managerial record?
What about his completely useless spell at Birmingham? Does that not cause you to reassess your opinion of Rooney's managerial ability or was that also someone else's fault?

The first part is utter nonsense (were you even there?!?), the second part was due to Administration and the 12 points deduction (we'd have survived with just the 9 point deduction) and the last part was (in my view) doing the decent thing after hitching his wagon to Kirschner.

    Personal grudge against him?
We played awful football under him,we were relegated and he then cleared off as soon as were.
He also embarrassed the club at the worst possible time....and as far as I'm.l aware,he's a grown up,not a 18 year kid straight off a housing estate.
Great footballers are not always great coaches or managers and Rooney's record, here in the states and at Birmingham is an illustration of that.
The original question was about Plymouth taking him in as manager...do you honestly believe he's going to be a success given his managerial history?
