I'm not even concerned about the result, made harder by the referee obviously, or even the individual "mistakes" by Stearman and Collins.
What concerns me is the style of play. We seem to have gone from one extreme to the other. From overplaying to whack it long.
Sure, Warne has yet to settle in himself but I think we're seeing a flavour of what some of us feared. I'll try and be a bit more patient and judge after more games. I'm just a tad nervy.

The focus will be on the ref, but we looked garbage. Headless chickens, no composure, unorganised, quick to give the ball away, no ideas, endlessly pumping bad balls into the final third.

We’ve got one of the best squads in the league! Players far too good for this level. 

I think the main problem is the players are simply not good enough even at this level.
They couldn't play for Rosenior and it looks like they can't play for Warne either.

Ref was right to give the second penalty and the red, but is starting to lose it. Just gave them a free kick when it was Stearman who got fouled.

Saw one with "Rooney" on the back and almost had a fit at the shameless, money-grabbing celebrity exploitation of it all. Then I remembered he played in number 32, not 34... Sorry, Jake!

I've watched the highlights now and, while I can't comment on his overall performance, I think some of the more scathing views of Cybulski's finishing are a bit harsh. Of the three goal attempts shown, the first (header) he should certainly have done better with; the second (where he hit the post) was great turn and shot, and the third, where he was faced with the keeper coming out and a defender back on the line, he put to the correct side of the keeper and on target - it was just a decent bit of keeping imo. I think there's something to work with there.

If you are a Warne Fanboy hope you are enjoying this thread. Those still pining for Rosenior revisit happier days.

That was such an enjoyable season and regardless of how it ended Lampard was fully invested in us. It would be a shame to start painting “the bounce” as an empty gesture just because we’re bitter about him leaving.

I think Lampard got a bit wrapped up in the excitement of his first managerial gig. You don’t see him leading bounces at Everton. It was a fun season and we all got a bit carried away. I even got out of my armchair and went to Wembley. 
Warne’s a lot more experienced. He isn’t leading a ounce til there’s something to bounce about.
I think he genuinely appreciated the fans though. He sited it as one of his reasons to leave a cushy job in the championship to come back to league one, and a genuine belief that the fans are the 12th man. He very much sounds like he’s got his head screwed on.
