Carnero reacted to Cisse in NFL 2021 Season
I don't really appreciate people booing veterans even when they are announcing their teams picks. You went through war you deserve not to be booed.

Carnero got a reaction from therealhantsram in EFL appeal
The appeal was against the lack of punishment for not making our policy clear enough, not the actual policy which is perfectly legal and is in accordance with the financial reporting standards (FRS12)... which is why the EFL lost the original case.

Says a lot about the last few years at Derby that I have no idea if you are joking or not!!!!

Not the case bud. The deadline for any points deduction this season has long since elapsed, so were a points deduction even a possible outcome, it'd have to be next season and not this one.
Furthermore, the crux of the EFL case seems to be that we failed inform them of our amortisation processes, not that there was an issue with them (our methodology has already been confirmed to be both fair and legal) and in so much, a points deduction wouldn't really be an option for either season anyway.
I really think this has been done to absolute death over recent weeks, so maybe we should just move on now? We've currently got bigger fish to fry.

But he's still putting money in. He hasn't abandoned us. And we don't know what his reasoning for wanting to sell is. You can question whether Mel has been a successful owner, and I would agree that he hasn't been. But I think it's pretty scummy when you question whether he cares or not.

Well that sounds remarkably sensible.
I don't believe a word of it!

He hasn't abandoned the club though. He's still putting as much money as he can in (around £2m pm right now). Sure, the clibbiant in a healthy position right now, but come the summer, once out of the pandemic, the financial health of the club should be in a fairly healthy position. Almost a blank slate for a new owner to come in and make a by of a push

No he has crippled himself financially, the money is owed to him, if I was Mel I would want to escape from this baying mob ASAP

Do you believe that Collymore genuinely gives a duck about what happens to Derby? It doesn't really read as anything to me. But we've all seen people randomly make stuff up on the internet before and football fans are awful for just going along with every rumour, I seem to remember many on here believed Barry the ram. East Midlands today said nothing like what Collymore did. I don't really care whether you like or dislike Mel, saying he isn't a true fan because things didn't work out is just unfair. What is a ''true fan'' anyway, and who gets to police it?

Yeah, what a swine... Ploughing in £100m trying to fulfill his and all Derby fans dreams of becoming a solid PL side.

Mel ('s other company) also owes the club up to £80m for the stadium. Essentially, anyone buying the club, gets the stadium for free, just by agreeing to wipe off that debt owed to the club.
It's no secret that Mel's struggling to free up enough cash to keep the club running. He'll want rid of that debt ASAP.

There is absolutely nothing in that Natalie Jackson interview.
We’re on the verge of relegation to league 1 and have many players out of contract, bills still to pay and we are losing money hand over fist. Of course we’re in the poo, we have no income because we are still in a ducking pandemic!! There are many other clubs in the poo financially it’s just not in the press.
None of this means we’re going to lose our club or we’re going to go into administration. Only way that will happen is if Mel has ran out of money. It would make no sense to liquidate and as someone who genuinely cares for the club he wouldn’t do it unless he had absolutely no choice.
I also notice everyone some are adamantly speculating we’re going to get a points deduction now when for months the consensus has been it will be a fine worst case.
We have a massive threat of relegation yes, but it seems the gloom of this is leading people to speculate our Armageddon is just around the corner when there is nothing other than a random tweet from Collymore which he’s now deleted, a news report from natalie Jackson that says nothing, and stories about the EFL questioning Alonso’s money - which they should be doing as part of following due process to ensure the takeover is above board.
The only genuine known concern facing the club is whether or not we will be in the championship next season.

Absolutely nothing of substance there.
If I was in the kitchen staff, groundsman etc I'd be worried about my job/new owner...hardly anything new there though.

Mel has invested well over £100 million in the club since he assumed overall control, the basic business of the club, is in my opinion not in a mess, we have a great ground , great academy and the commercial side of the businesses is very well run which as a previous tenant of an executive box at the ground I have very good first hand knowledge of.
What is an issue is the unrealistic expectations and demands of a supporter base that expects the rams to win every game and if that does not happen to get their pitchforks out to drive the owner/manager/players out of the club/town. I believe the squandering of Mel's cash was a direct result of that pressure and the decisions of some previous senior executives.
I would repeat what I have said before be careful what you wish for, because because both the fake sheik and the Alonso guy look far worse custodians of the club than Mel Morris, If I was Mel and getting this level of abuse I would liquidate and take whatever cash I could and spend the rest of my days with my feet up.

I've posted in a couple of threads what I feel the worst case scenario is in terms of cash flow. c£16.6m to be found behind the back of the sofa, minus player sales, whatever ST money doesn't need to be refunded, and the fact I deliberately over estimated the wage bill. I'm also sure we could defer the £1.1m stadium rent if we were really struggling too.
Sure, the playing squad would be severely depleted with almost zero first team experience between them, but I just don't understand how anyone could be suggesting we're at rwal risk of admin

Exactly, we only have 15 senior pros under contract for next season (including Buchanan, Bird, Knight & Sibley!) so it's not like we'll be carrying forward a huge wage bill any more.

The thing is, Mel has already said the money is there to pay wages through to the end of the season. If we're still struggling to pay back STHs, transfer fees due, etc... then we'd see sales such as Lawrence, Jozwiak, Byrne, the youngsters before we'd go into administration.
I'd only start to worry if we're still talking about money troubles once all players of significant value are sold.

Carnero reacted to RoyMac5 in El DerbyCo
Bury went into administration and were bought by someone who didn't have the where-with-all to run them, and then wouldn't sell them at a reasonable price ie couldn't find a buyer. I think that's what happened, we're miles away from that scenario, it was undoubtedly Collymore just being the cretin he undoubtedly is.

The Vultures are circling just waiting for us to fail , rubbing their hands with glee , can't wait for our fall from grace , they think we deserve it , they pray for it !.
We are made of sterner stuff , One of the original members of this hallowed sport , if we go down we will come back stronger, I have no doubt of this . WE ARE Derby , WE DON'T LIE DOWN AND DIE ! ......COME ON YOU RAMS !!!
