Carnero reacted to angieram in Conor Hourihane - Has left the club
All the best, Conor - right move at this point in his career.
Was a good signing for Derby, experienced head supporting the younger players and much respect for him in the dressing room.
Admire that he knew when he needed to look elsewhere- many don’t.

Bowled a great 19th over to make them favourites for the game though.

Carnero reacted to Day in Wayne Rooney
I’ll jump to question 3, my thoughts are that Rooney took over during a difficult time in the clubs history. He helped create a fighting spirit within the club when the EFL were gunning for us.
Many would have walked a lot sooner, but he stood by us and gave us belief.
I’m not bitter that he chose to leave in the summer following relegation, he poured everything into the club and I can see why he wanted a fresh start.
Absolutely no grudges held and will only ever be thankful for his efforts here and wish him the best going forward.
The one thing you can expect is Morgan Whittaker to leave. If there is one person in Plymouth that won’t be happy with the appointment it will be him.
I would also expect Wayne to receive a warm reception when he returns to Pride Park.

Carnero reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Spine Tingling Derby moments
The administration / relegation season:
Bielik against Birmingham, made even sweeter after the poisonous atmosphere from the away end. Tom Lawrence’s goals against Sheff Utd was it. Sibley’s late winner against Peterborough. The win against Fulham. Curtis Davies against Reading. The atmosphere and release when these goals were scored, the togetherness and the sheer us against them attitude with the potential death of the club hanging over us made these game ‘spine-tingling’ for me.
Got to be worthy of a shout.

Carnero reacted to Kernow in UEFA Euro 2024 Thread
Branthwaite out too by the looks of it, that’s staggering. He’s the kind of player who will be in the England squad for the next decade, give him some tournament experience instead of Lewis Dunk who has looked dreadful every time he’s played for England.

Carnero reacted to MaltRam in Premier League clubs to vote on scrapping VAR
Premier League are saying there would be 100 more incorrect decisions per year if VAR was scrapped. 5 per team.
They seem to think this is a strong argument in favour of VAR.
I'd so readily wear one extra incorrect decision every 8 games, to be able to celebrate in the moment a goal gets scored. Awful development.

Carnero reacted to Big Trav in Paul Warne
A LOT more competitive definitely. We’re aiming high in the transfer market, we won’t just be there to make numbers up next season

I have names, some decent ones too. I don’t like sharing them due to the fact they’re nowhere near done.

Carnero reacted to Ambitious in Paul Warne
Just caught up on the whole hour (well, 45 minutes) on the TalkSPORT app.
It's important that he takes opportunities like this and gets himself into the media to build a reputation. He comes across really well and a lot of the neutral supporters tend to really like him his approach.
He's clearly working really hard behind the scenes, it seems as though the recruitment team have done a lot of work and now is the important part of putting it all together. Obviously he was very coy on budgets, but sounds like he knows the scale of the task at hand and knows the ability of the players required. I think it will be more competitive than people anticipate.

Carnero reacted to Comrade 86 in Chiropractor?
Chiropractor to sort it (it's not that expensive mate!), then Pilates as a preventative measure once you're mended, though I'd be sure to get yourself checked over thoroughly BEFORE doing anything to make sure there's not an issue that might be exacerbated rather than fixed. The lower back stuff may simply be sciatic pain which is really easy to mitigate, but the hip issue could potentially be an arthritic condition.

Carnero reacted to Ambitious in Summer transfer suggestion thread
Will Vaulks contract talks with Wednesday have stagnated. He was their player of the season last year and has previous with Warne.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we were throwing a few spanner’s in the works to see if we can persuade him to sign for us. He suits the system, is well known to the manager and is a proven at Championship level. If we can pick up Vaulks and Bernard on frees from Wednesday that would be lovely start to the window.

Carnero reacted to Chesterfield_Ram in Summer transfer suggestion thread
Agree with this. I've heard a lot of good things said about him from Wrexham fans. With him being available on a free transfer, we could even sign him up then loan him out back to wrexham in L1 for next season to help his development. Goalkeepers usually improve with experience so it could be good for him to go up the pyramid league by league. Just look at James Trafford for a goalkeeper whose development was rushed.

Okonkwo could be a decent goalkeeping option for us, especially if Vickers leaves too.
