I suspect buying or investors will see how we fair in the championship after going up first. Gut feeling clowes will see a season out in the championship and if we survive then people will start to look at Derby as an investment/buying opportunity

still think Mike Ashley will end up buying Derby at some point. Could have easily brought other clubs and with his business being close maybe makes sense as to why he wants Derby and a chance to keep his Newcastle scarves to save his money

I've long thought Mike Ashley would buy us eventually, but I just can't see David Clowes selling to him.

I feel like our next move financially will be a carefully thought out one. He is a real fan of the club, not a chancer looking to a make a quick buck.

Clowes won't want the stadium being renamed to Sports Direct arena I can't imagine.

I think some of you need to pop over to the Derby County flags thread... some latest pics appear to show posts and netting twixt seats and pitch, and it doesn't look like it's there to keep the birds off! 👀

Could Mr Clowes have pulled a fast one?  🤷‍♂️

Thankfully that is just the temporary netting they use for shooting practice in the North stand so Washington doesn't hit Rita in row Z.

Given the resources that we’ve had at our disposal I find it weird that Warne is being called out on recruitment.

The signings of Embleton and TJJ seemed desperate at the time, given their injury record. And neither have proven to be good signings.

But then Nelson has been an absolutely fantastic signing.

  4. I don't hate Paul Warne, he is a very likeable person and I enjoy watching his interviews.

My problems have always been with his recruitment and tactics.

Quite comical I know given we are 2nd and a point away from promotion, but this really is a very poor division and we have made things more difficult than they needed to be, just my opinion.

In terms of recruitment, to be fair to Paul, who knows how he will be free of restrictions, he may well have had 10 top players lined up this season and the club weren't able to do the business.

And tactics, we have had so many injuries (partly down to poor recruitment), but Paul has had to adjust given the situations he was finding himself in.

I've been his top critic, but if he wins promotion Saturday he has earnt his chance and more...I'd be happy to see how we recruit in the summer and see where we are come October type.

  5. Assuming Peterborough win in the week, what a stinker of a game for both clubs last game.

Both would have a chance of top 2, albeit a slim one.

Both would know realistically that Derby should be beating Carlise and both would have an eye on the playoffs.  Neither would want to risk losing key players to injuries or suspension going hell for leather for a slim chance of automatics.

    This surely is our time.

The Club have issued a statement regarding the possibility of criminal proceedings to any fans who encroach onto the pitch after final game .Should we gain promotion and get out of this awful League 1 after all of the ups and downs over the last few years l would have thought a simple gesture of letting the long suffering supporters celebrate and applaud the players is perfectly acceptable .Pompey fans assembled on the pitch last week after promotion was gained and created a fantastic spectacle. Why are Rams fans denied the opportunity after all it was common practice even in the great Clough era.The Club cites H&S worries and seems to forget that we are adults and do not need wrapping in cotton wool thank you very much.As a Club we have had little to celebrate in recent years ,Powers that be chill and let the supporters celebrate and thank the players in the time honoured way.

I'm happy to risk criminal proceedings.

A slight tone deaf statement given all the crap the fans have endured. Would be fitting for the kids to celebrate on the pitch.

We might help flatten down the grass too.

  7. Football has been dire at times, but its a results business and fair play to Paul, he has got the results...I just hope we can finish the job now.

I thought we would finish 7th, I was wrong, I thought Paul would be sacked before the end of the season, I was wrong.  Its lovely being wrong at times!

Regardless of my personal feelings on the manager situation, what is deserving of so much credit is that we are in this position despite the huge amount of injuries we have sustained this season, to key players as well.

Paul has earnt his chance and I really hope we get to see him smiling talking to Owen after achieving what I never thought he was capable of doing.

Over to ariotofmyown to tell me why I am such an @rsehole 😆

Historically Derby are bad at handling end of season pressure so I'm not optimistic until either Bolton screw up or the final whistle blows on the last day.

On the bright side we are top scorers in the league and have Mr Motivator as a manager so there is hope

We are the 3rd highest goal scorers behind Bolton and Peterborough. We have the best goal difference.

But, if we were to finish on the same points as Bolton and they manage to claw back the goal difference and finish the same as us, they would be promoted due to scoring more than us.

So you slag him off nearly every week, and Warne for selecting him, regardless of how he actually plays and how he had been clearly improving for a while now after a poor start.

Then he scores 2 goals, and suddenly you think he is a leader an potential captain material?

Your opinions are obviously built on not a lot. Who would have thought it.

From the reaction your post got, not sure many take much notice of your opinion either to be fair.

Isn't it funny, so called positive posters like you get on at us so called wrist slashers for being negative and as soon as we post something positive you then turn it negative.

My negativity revolves around what I see on the football pitch whereas yours is to attack other posters.

There are words for people like you, no doubt I'd get my latest ban if I were to use them though 😉
