    Sorry, don't have a link...

Word in da hood is that there is to be an upcoming closure of the shared footpath/cycle path (Route 6), as it exits/enters the NE corner of Alvo Park heading for PPS (and onwards to City Centre, of course)... specifically that tiny little bit that dips under the railway bridge that has had scaffolding on it for months and months!

Apparently to be closed from 21:00hrs Sat 2nd March to 17:00hrs Friday 26th April.

Not checked our fixtures, but I'd imagine this will have some effect for those parking over that way and walking (or cycling) in on matchdays?
No idea whether official/marked detours will be signed?

The non-committal to the shooting of any messengers during these difficult times would be most appreciated.

    Fork sake.

I've finally dragged my arse to the park run on a Saturday morning at Alvaston and enjoy a walk along that path. That's screwed me up for a couple of months.

in his Radio Derby interview. Said we'd sent everything to the EFL on Friday, but we're having to wait because of the restrictions we're working under. (I think that's a quote.) And that we'd hopefully now find out on Monday if he's allowed to sign.

I'm confused. I thought we were free to operate without restrictions?

Also, if we can't sign Gayle how ok earth would we have been able to sign Michael Smith?

If it turns out Collins is fit then it could turn out to be just the tonic for fans to fall in love with him.

He has quietly proved doubters wrong this season, but any remaining doubters will have looked at the goals he has scored this year, looked at the lack of number 9s we have and all of a sudden be praying he is fit to keep our season alive.

If he is fit I hope he gets a huge roar when his name is read out.

Tried to be positive, it backfired.

    Booooooooo

  5. Why are people quoting Gayles scoring record and using it as a reason not to sign him?

He is better than anything we have got (not that we have anything now) and potentially better than anything in league 1.

Chris Martin, CKR, David McGoldrick. None particularly prolific before coming, none too shabby in the end hey!

So you think he should have been preparing for Waghorn, Washington, John Jules and Collins all to be injured?

Who are these freebies that will do a better job than Barkhuizen, NML or CBT up top?

He shouldn't have signed John Jules for a start, same with Embleton. That isn't a Captain Hindsight comment from me, you will see I had concerns about their fitness when we signed them.  They were both risks which have cost us money and backfired.

Waghorn & Washington both have a poor history when it comes to fitness.

Collins it just unlucky if it turns out he is out for the season.

But seeing as 4 of the strikers in our squad are injured more often than not, then yes, he needs to be preparing for his striking department to be depleted.

Here is a start......Don't send anyone out on loan!

    Why was it a farce?

Warne stated there was nobody out there that would improve us that was within our budget.

To quote Simon Jordan...That is absolute Poppycock.

If he does his job properly and prepares accordingly, he would have found someone to improve us within the set budget.

There are footballers beyond the top 3 divisions in England.

Well we did score three in the last game and Collins didn’t score any of them, plus according to some on here contributed nothing, so yes we should be alright.

Plus we can recall Brown next week and Washington may well be fit also.

My lottery numbers may well come up next week too, possibilities are endless.

The gypsy curse returns? How is Warne making lemonade? All speculation about Collins being out, not sure if OB was on a wind up but said could be the season could be 24hrs.

NML proved again he's a nightmare through the middle, do we switch our play come away from a crossing game 433 with him at centre. We have CBT Barks Wilson and possibly Ward you could play on the wings. I believe you run at defenders in this league you'll cause way more problems than putting crosses in.

Do we look at getting Gayle on a free? What's your play if you're Warne?

Wasn't Warne a striker? Maybe this is his time to finally play for a big club.

It wasn't supposed to be a joke.

A top coach like Warne will have signed sufficient back up in January and if not he has a great academy option in Brown.

If we lose Collins for the season we should be fine.

  11. Just seen James Collins is a doubt for Saturdays game while he has a scan on his knee.

Hopefully he is fit, if not it'll give Paul a chance to try one the forwards he signed in January.

    Or Brown.
