Wildsmith  7.5 Another commanding display, bar one bit of unnecessary inter-passing with Rooney from which Torquay should have scored. 
 
Rooney.  7.   A couple of early glitches but overall another good display in a new position. 
 
Stearman.  6.5.  Handled Tom Daley pretty well. Should have scored though. 
 
Cashin.  6.5.  Looked a little rusty at first, but back to his usual self by the end. 
 
Bardell.   6.  Didn't look out of place. 
 
Roberts.   6  Substituted early. Hopefully only precautionary. 
 
Forsyth.  7.  Added calm assurance for an hour before departing without a single feather ruffled. "Forsythesque" is an actual thing now. 
 
Oduroh. 6  Looked quick and bright in brief cameo. 
 
Bird.  7.  Stood up well to some harsh treatment and played some killer through balls. Crocked by a dreadful challenge that would have been a red card the other way round. 
 
Smith. 6.5.  Instantly made us look more secure defensively. 
 
Thompson. 7.5.  Best performance since last season. Reminded us what a good footballer he is. Excellent goal. 
 
Dobbin.  7.5.  A real handful, GOTS contender, should have scored more but works his socks off. 
 
Collins.  6.   Fit and rested for Friday. 
 
Sibley.   6.  With the ball : little went right for him. Without the ball : one of his better performances. Stuck at it without getting frustrated. 
 
Osula. 7.  A handful for the Torquay defenders, well taken goal, with more composure he could have had 3 or 4.
 
McGoldrick.  8.   A pleasure to watch him play the game. Reminds me of  Franny Lee - pure entertainment. 

“Everyone”, “all over the media” and “pro-commentators” strikes me as a tad hyperbolic. The same media and pro-commentators who did a half time feature on how well he was playing and commented during the match about the threat he offers? 
His own manager is quoted after the game saying “Dobbin’s work rate alone gets him in the team”.
A more balanced view would be “SOME fans are frustrated by his missed opportunities, SOME fans can see what he offers to the team and hope he’ll do well, SOME fans have a weird need to attack him as a 19 year old still learning the game, and his manager rates him and is playing him in a Derby side that is going well at the minute and can do better still”.
 

Don't really get why we should prioritize a "senior striker" with Collins and McGoldrick seemingly fit? Wouldn't a younger up-and-coming striker from maybe lower league or on loan be more appropriate for us?
And keeper as well as right back seems even more important I guess?

I would normally agree. But when you see Lingard choosing a relegation battle at Forest over Top 6 and European football with West Ham. Nothing would surprise me.
