I feel like CK doesnt want to deal with MM directly on the stadium as he tried first time around and got nowhere, I believe he wanted MM to accept less which he rejected to do.
CK has openly said he came back in once the DCC were at the table for Pride Park.
Im not even sure its all about the price, how do we know it would be any cheaper to buy off the DCC than it would be off MM? I think alot of this is down to principle, at the end of the day CK is coming in and paying MM debts for him, I dont blame him for wanting nothing more to do with him.
From todays FB live + the talk of the DCC securing funding I do think a deal for the stadium is closer than we all think, I think an agreement on the sale of Pride Park will be in place this week as well as the EFL approval. Then CK can start making plans and WR can too, with the exit of admin and the stadium completed end of May / start of June, in time for preseason.

From my understanding of the meeting he’s signing an agreement to buy the club this week after (hopefully) getting the OK from the EFL to pass over the league membership to his company, then it will take until the end of may/early June to bring us out of administration, that being conditional on the change of ownership of the stadium by then.

If the council can borrow the money to buy it at preferential rates (2.8% I think I read somewhere?) then charges an equivalent rent to the football club to cover their outgoings, then I don't really see the issue.
From a buyer perspective it's probably a more attractive option at this stage than buying outright, when there's other initial outlays that'll need to take place to bring the football club out of administration, and to build up the playing squad and club staff.
Who's to say what the final agreement will be, it may be a lease to buy arrangement where for example we pay an annual rent around 750k along with a capital repayment of 1m per year.
It's really not a massive issue, many sports teams rent their stadium, both in the UK and the US.

He spoke very well. Considering his age, and by his own admission,  a rather meteoric rise in his bank balance, he seems still very grounded and is buying DCFC for the right reasons. Gets what the club means to its people - I really enjoyed the comparison to a church.
We've had a 'fan' owner. It didn't work. We need someone who gets it, but is emotionally detached, and surrounds themselves with the right people. Sounds like this is what's happening.
I will obviously temper this with, 'talk is cheap'. Ultimately, we won't find out until actions are taken, but for now, I'm reassured.

I think there will be a lot of gentleman agreements with Rooney where he says, sign up, give us a year to see if we can bounce straight back, if we dont and a good enough offer comes in then you have his blessing to move on

We need a target man, big striker, hold up player, brute, whatever you want to call it. Juke at brum is an obvious candidate. Always plays well against us. A level drop could see him really get the goals. If he is going to go out on loan again or be available to the right level of fee I would serious look at ikpeazu. Right handful.
There are so many players who will be available on frees and loan deals that I am not worried about recruitment. We will not be paying fees at all, but we will be able to get a squad together to at least sit in midtable and rebuild on and off the pitch for a year or so.

i think if you listen to curtis on the radio the other day he was saying because of covid players have to be more receptive to lower wages
because they get left on the shelf otherwise and rooney and a new takeover will be a massive pull as long as we are sensible with wages
i'll be happy with whoever we bring in it seems like an eternity since we signed a player

Absolutely love this team and this club. 10 of 14 players involved from the academy? Only Foz signed for a fee? 9 years ago? 4000 away fans to watch a relegated team.
    2-0. ?
    Enjoy your night all.

Not to get ahead of myself here, but how good will it be when we see on Twitter/the official site:
"??? has put pen to paper on a new ?-year deal ✒️ ?"
It could be one of the fringe players and I might still shed a tear!

FWIW, in a rare bit of itk, I happen to know that the council have secured funding to purchase the stadium. So hopefully that one will be resolved soon.
