And yet despite everything, the EFL seem to be only too willing to increase the likelihood of liquidation by piling on the highest points deduction they can get, without seemingly taking any account of all the "reasonable doubt" that they are even right about their opinion that FRS has even been breeched at all. On top of that the Club has been punished by delay, by Covid, by embargo, by the draconian measures around squad size and wage caps.........all of this is being ignored in the pursuit of making an example of one Club, at the behest(in part) of the Chairman of another Club.
In addition, although as we all know, other Clubs have been able to "cut a deal" with HMRC, but under new rules, DCFC will be denied this option, BUT STILL, the EFL will not budge......even though Parry himself has already recognised, that amortisation should not be taken into account in P and S calculations, BUT still they plough on.....
Is it any wonder, that as a Club, we feel just slightly persecuted?

I liked him, sorry to see him go.
He struck a nice balance between the serious stuff, and the lighter side of the game, and his articles on race and racism, and mental health, were eye opening and thought provoking.
Yet my favourite will always be his day with Private Derby, muddy cowboy boots and all.
Cheers Ryan, hope you stay involved, but most of all I hope you're well.

Not done a thing wrong in two tough games. Strong shot stopper and safe hands with crosses. Quick to tell the defence to get out today as well.
    Looks a keeper!

That’ll be when all the Sheffield United players crowded the referee to get him to change Roos’ yellow card to a red. Makes sense that we get fined, obviously.

Wayne thanked the fans for their incredible support and the pride that they given the team and all at the club. Players are so grateful and are playing for the fans. They may not win every match but they will not stop trying.
He also said that he will put up two league tables for the players, one showing where we are actually and the other to show where we would be without the 12 point deduction., so they keep their spirits up and can see how well they are doing. How lucky we are to have him.

I wasn’t overall happy when Rooney took over and last season didn’t do much to change my mind.

Fast forward to today and I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have. The way he is conducting himself throughout all this is commendable. You can hear in his voice that he cares for the club, players and fans and he has the desire to stick it out.

Well done Wayne keep at it, we need you more than you need us. ??

Just said that if we get more points deducted we might then play the youngsters to prepare us for League 1 - which wouldn't necessarily be fair to other teams or the integrity of the league! Nice one Wayne, get those 'threats' in early! #COYR

    Take him.
I took my 5 year old grandson to the Stoke game, his first one. All he keeps going on about is the hand dryer in the toilets so I wouldn't  worry to much about traumatizing the lad as he probably won't understand.
I've kept his ticket and I'll give it to him one day perhaps on his 18th or something sentimental like that.

I just want to say that I am a realist and I know the likelihood involved, but if we're admitting defeat and saying relegation is a certainty only 8 games into the season, we might as well fold the club now
You've got to believe it can be done. A bit of wild hope never hurt anyone. If we've got this defeatist attitude already, don't be surprised to get tonked every game now until the end of the season. How can the players have any belief if we as the fans don't?
Call me an idiot if you like but come on. Let's give it a try, no?

Derby were also in serious financial trouble in 1984 - less than a decade after the second of their Division One title wins - when former chairman Stuart Webb was a member of the board, and he criticised Morris' decision to "walk away" from the current situation.
"We worked relentlessly to keep the club alive which in the end we were able to do," Webb told BBC Radio Derby.
"We all worked together to keep it going but at this point it looks as though it's come to the end, and that really is worrying for everyone. Once the administrator is appointed, then we'll really find out what the extent of the problems is and how it's going to be dealt with, and that's not going to be pleasant."
Under Morris, the only other board members were company secretary Stephen Pearce and former Derby captain and manager Roy McFarland.
Webb added: "Mel Morris came in as a highly successful businessman but was clueless about the running of a football club. You need experienced people who can manage a huge business. You need to get the club on an even footing and if you go deeper down into a financial mire, take advice but don't walk away."

When my son was born I always said I’d take him to his first Derby game when he was 5 years old. I wanted him to experience the same buzz outside the ground before a game, the smell of the hot dogs and burger vans and the sharp intake of breath the first time he ever walked up the stairs and gazed upon the pitch.
He just turned 5 and I’m absolutely devastated, this was a moment I’ve been planning since before he was even born. I can’t bring him into this, this is not how he should have to remember his first few months supporting a club that will become a part of him for the rest of his life.
my worry is, if I don’t take him soon there might not be a club to take him to for much longer.
This whole thing is devastating and you can feel how it’s affected the whole City.

I absolutely agree and places like those are good examples, with there only really being one or two large centres of populations. The last thing I'll say about it here is that I've walked/rambled/hiked a lot of Derbyshire and often the people of the villages and small towns we've walked into don't feel a huge connection to Derby 'city'. The one thing that I've found as a common thread though, is the love and following of DCFC -- the emphasis being on "County". Doesn't matter if you're from Derby or Buxton or Edale... there's always someone you'll meet out there on the hills or in the last pub on the way home with a Ram on their shirt.

My personal view for what it's worth is he sounded deflated towards the end of the interview. A beaten man.
Despite a lack of raw emotion shown on air, I genuinely think Friday would have hurt him massively as this wouldn't have been anywhere in his plans.
I understand this will not be any comfort to any of the staff that will lose their jobs, or creditors unpaid who my thoughts are with right now as they face an extremely tough week ahead.
Tomorrow I will be opening a jobs board on the forum, if any of you have a business or hear of vacancies in the local area please post them.
Also if you know anyone that has/will be lose their job through this process, give them a heads up.
Saturday showed what an incredible fan base we have when we come together, let's help try and make the impact as minimal as possible. ?

The coyness on the stadium tells it all IMO (and lack of follow through from Ed to determine how it is brought back into DCFC hands), quite obtuse statement regarding his ownership of stadium, only a reference that across the overall sum of his tenure, even despite retention of the stadium, that he will still lose out. So what does that mean? It basically reads to me  that he has gambled, lost, and taken the stadium as a form of collateral to reduce his loss. If he was as benevolent as he claims he is he'd gift the stadium back to the club and truly walk away with nothing, he obviously has no intention of doing that. So his recklessness to get out of this division was effectively mortgaged against our home which Lionel Pickering ultimately gifted the city and club. I don't care about a lot of things but to lose our stadium in this is unforgivable, the stadium should be an asset with the club in this admin package, the fact it isn't is a real, real shame.

Those slamming Mel should pause for a moment to think about his intentions.
I do not - for a minute - think he's intended to run the club down.
He has spent millions, not to run the club into debt, but to chase the dream. We all supported that chase.
Even though he's managed things badly, which he admits, I do believe that he genuinely thinks the only way he can get new owners in is to put the club into administration.
I'm very far from happy about that, actually been crying about it, but I think it's sincere on his part.
