If the difference between getting a points deduction and not getting one is a couple of million then surely some crowd funding could raise that sum? I appreciate this needs organising but surely could be done.

Great news we finally get a PB.  But why is it I still get wound up by the pathetic comms from the EFL.....
"...the EFL has been focused on ensuring that there is a long-term future for the Club."   Really? Love to see how.
"Now that the League has been advised of the preferred bidder status by the Administrators, we await details of the formal proposals and once in receipt, these will be reviewed in line with EFL requirements..."  Why do you have to say "now"? You're like a spoilt child.  Keep it factual.  "Following notification by the admins of the PB.....".  And how long will your review take?  Long enough to see us down with further points deductions and player losses?
"This process will allow us to understand what hurdles may still need to be overcome before matters can move forward......" Sorry?  After nearly 2 years you still don't understand the hurdles? Maybe read this thread - you'll possibly learn a thing or two.

Can’t believe how people are whipping themselves up about these historic tweets. I have two daughters, the contents are disgusting but I defy anyone to say they haven’t made comments they regret. When I was in my twenties I engaged in sexist misogynistic banter at work, with my missus, it was (wrongly) acceptable then I think we’ve come a long way even in the last 10 years and then having two daughters has changed my perspective completely. People learn and grow and I accept his explanation.

Lets see this for what it is and that is a campaign by a vocal minority of Forest and Leeds fans with twatter followers to trash Kirchner and trash our hopes of a takeover. It’s petty vindictive rivalry driving them nothing more

Lots of us were onboard when a possible Saudi relative was going to take over.
That issue was related to human rights and most were willing to let it be.

Now the media are dragging up over a decade old set of tweets without asking for an explanation. Tweets mind you, Ill advised and in some cases very wrong by most of societies view.
No context, no recourse, no room for change or maturing over 10 years but let’s post them and make it a massive issue.

I hope these same people are on twitter daily calling everyone to repentance who doesn’t say things they agree with or say things that are wrong by the society they live in.

As long as he treats everyone at the club with equality and doesn’t discriminate either directly or indirectly he can think what he likes (even if they were not taken out of context).

Sodding words over 10 years old and we have this rigmarole. Ridiculous.

Two years ago (I think) on the 4th April it was Derby vs Forest and the Aintree Grand National. Everything got cancelled. The 4th April is my birthday. I was absolutely gutted. Yesterday the Mrs had surprised me with my very own pub. I and she work for the NHS. We were exhausted. I had a funny feeling that the PB would be announced on or around my birthday. Finally some hope and future COYR

Our relegation isn’t one based on results.
It isn’t one based on a sporting competition on a field of sport.
It’s not because our team or players or coaches are not as good as the other teams in the same league

it’s a punishment inflicted by the EFL, caused by Morris and provoked by Gibson.
we have shown them all up for their incompetence, vindictiveness and money grabbing ways

I agree here. If Reading win their game in hand this week it'll be 9 points with 6 to go. Meaning we've got to win at least 3 out of 6 to have any chance and even that would mean we'd need Reading to lose all 6.
I can't see us winning 3 out of the last 6 game. Realistically Reading will win at least 2. Meaning we'd need 5 wins minimum and we aren't doing that.
If Reading beat Stoke at home this week then any slim chance we have is gone.
If we're gonna get -15 points taken off us then it might as well be now. Sweep this god awful season under the rug and give ourselves the best chance of getting out of league one next season.

We travel from Cambridge. Went to match yesterday. travelled up Friday afternoon - had pub meal in Derby Friday on arrival, bought present for family member in Derby shop and visited Friday paying for parking, stayed in hotel and paid for some electric vehicle charge/parking Friday night, bought breakfast in cafe Sat morning, to main shops and bought some stuff Saturday morning, coffee and cake before heading to match, parking fee to I assume a Derby person at match, Frankie & Bennys after match whilst waiting for traffic to clear so fed and ready for drive home missing traffic. Plus match tickets, drinks in ground and couple bits in megastore. Is that enough for you as a fan who lives away?

Moor Farm is in Erewash, for council purposes.
I think @86 Hair Islands has pretty much nailed it with his last few posts, in fact in many ways I believe the council owning the stadium could be the best solution, rather than the last resort.

But he's not 'taking a hit' my friend. He borrowed this money to cover operational costs rather than use his own. If there was no intention to service this debt, then he had no business taking it on. It stinks and this is even before one considers the burden to the club of meeting interest payments on the principal debt which rise with every day that passes.
If there are reasons why he can't at least compromise, liquidity being a plausible example, then why not say as much? I'd politely suggest that that's the very least the long-suffering fan-base deserve, not to mention our numerous creditors.

A few of us suggested exactly this when the Council met with some of the stakeholders a few weeks back. I said then and I stand by the view expressed, that from a fiscal perspective, it's an absolute no-brainer given they would be able to levy a ground-rent of between £1m and £2M per annum. Some folk need to do the basic maths on this. The deal would add to the Council coffers, not detract from them and that's before one considers the broader 'indirect' social and fiscal benefits. Furthermore, the Council will not have to stump up the £22M, which some on here appear not to grasp at all. A greater concern to me would be whether this arrangement might detract from the appeal of the club to the current bidders, though I sense they are only offering a token price for the stadium in any case.
All of this notwithstanding, my preferred option would still be that Morris consider his stated commitments and at very least, substantially reduce the asking price for the stadium. It won't happen of course, but by rights, he should actually without further delay, agree to transfer ownership to the new owners 'for £1.00' in keeping with his promise to do so, or have the class to explain to a fan base who feel betrayed and misled by him, why he is unable to.

We've got some weird ducking 'supporters' on here, determined to find a problem with every solution ?

Maybe - but on the balance I think with the club being so important to the city economically as-well as culturally - that anything they can do to keep Derby County is major benefit of the city. Of course ideally it should not be at the consequence of vital services being kept running but overall I think the positives would certainly outweigh the negatives of any such deal. I think I’d also prefer the stadium to essentially be owned by the people of derby if you want to spin it that way.

I don’t know about anyone else but honestly I’m spent.
I am just going to enjoy the remaining games of the season, go to PP as much as possible, and focus on the football.
Our club’s future is in the hands of people with no real interest in whether the club survives or indeed thrives, so there is little point investing in the stalemate in the boardroom.
All this line dancing proves it’s not about saving Derby County, saving people’s livelihoods and reinvigorating the community, but businessmen simply trying to look like the best, shrewdest businessman in the room. How can they not read the room?
I can’t help but have misgivings about any potential ownership group moving forward. I understand that £50+ million is a lot to spend in the current circumstances, but the club’s potential to bounce back is only diminishing the more this drags on.

At the end of the day 50m is too much for a League one club with a load of debt and hardly any assets. The bidders might just wait to see for certain what divison we'll be in. If we do the miraculous and stay up then they will pay it. If we go down then Mel needs to accept less for the stadium otherwise I can't see a deal being done. I think the bidders are trying hard to make sure we don't receive a -15 penalty next season as that would be another huge blow. Mel needs to do the decent thing now and just gift the stadium back to the club. That way, this situation is solved.

If Mel remains involved with the club I will be deeply disappointed but I'd be forced to tolerate him. For me, the club is bigger than any individual and I'd my support would continue.
Personally, I can't see it happening. I doubt even Mel is thick skinned enough to welcome the prospect of the songs against him that would surely follow.

    Please just give us Appleby.
Ashley and anyone else with hundreds of millions lying around could have bought us in a heartbeat six months ago. Instead, they’ve been dicking about and we’ve lost half our squad in the meantime.
Appleby strikes me as the only who who really, really wants this, and for the right reasons.

Tomorrow is the deadline for bids to be submitted. Please don't confuse this with the deadline 4 weeks back where bids had to be submitted, completely different things.
Once bids are submitted tomorrow, Quantuma will assess those bids and discuss them over the weekend. Please don't confuse the assessing of bids with the assessing that has reportedly been taking place for the last 4 weeks since bids were submitted 4 weeks ago, as these are two totally different things.
Once discussed, quantuma hope to identify a PB and will present that to the EFL.
Not hard to understand really is it?

    This is a huge point.
The points deduction alone is not the end of the "punishment". It is far more than just that.
The EFL - being the governing body - should be there to protect its members, not obliterate them.
I dunno if this has been said ? but the EFL are just not fit for purpose.

Wsm-ram reacted to Sheff Ram in The Administration Thread
With the news of Festy leaving confirmed, it brings home just how hard and long we have been punished as a club. The 21 point deduction is severe in itself but the restrictions placed on us in terms of making new signings and offering new contracts to existing players is destroying our club further.
It goes way beyond this season. It has made survival in the Championship nigh on impossible, made it harder for us to find a buyer and even if we are eventially taken over, with a potential 15 point deduction, the possibility of a new manager and a scratch team, we face an uphill struggle next season too. And that's the favorable outcome.
The EFL, the idiot chairmen at Middlesbrough and Wycombe and all the trolling Florist/Leeds/Boro and other teams (so-called) fans have further tried to push us over the edge.
I just want this to be over now. I'd be a liar if I said this hasn't lowered my mood. The continued worry about the loss of something you have loved for the majority of your life is draining. I'm sure many of you feel the same. Please make this finish. Please can we have a PB  by Friday and at least start on the journey in rebuilding our beloved Rams.
