Media obsession- Rooney name is a big name... more clicks more sales... link him with every job going. Rooney is proving himself as a capable manager for what it’s worth but the media is obsessed with names like Rooney to generate interest.

and he's probably right on that front.
Lets face it, we all have opinions on Mel Morris and how he ran the club, if he's still going on about it halfway through next season under the new ownership it be fair to start with the "give it a break Gibbo"

He probably blames MM for his job loss. Just because someone gives you a job doesn’t mean they are immune from criticism.

Isn’t this an existing problem. The money will run out and the takeover has to happen. I guess EFL could expel Derby from the league if it’s dragging on too long. Hopefully it will be sorted with CK.

The DMs comment is probably just because he's getting an awful lot saying "when's the takeover happening Derby til I die"
Business plan, all in the hands of the EFL.
Stadium - we're all working under the assumption the Mel sells to the council, which isn't necessary easy or quick, However it could also be MSD taking ownership with a future expectation to sell it to cK. I don't think it's ck directly buying it off Mel because he'd say so.
Money running out - having sunk so much on DCFC,if cK is unwilling to fund the club until he owns it, I think Q would get some pennies from MSD.
League status - having successfully seen DCFC relegated, I doubt they'd pull the trigger until the last moment. They're vindictive but not stupid. Ok, I'll amend that, even the EFL aren't stupid enough to kick us out the league just because we're at a point they technically could.

Clickbait on his tweets from yesterday. The takeover has to happen, it's obvious. Don't need the DET to tell us that!

I doubt this team would win league 1 easily. Lack of depth and injuries -and look at the away record. Every team challenging at the top of league 1 has a good goal scorer - scorer of 15 goals or more. Derby just doesn’t have this. I would think this team would put up a good fight but I think more depth and a striker will be needed to cope in that league. And yet we will lose a lot of players....

I don’t think this seasons squad would get promoted. Think they would finish top half though. Away form embarrassing and lack of goals. Solid defence though and promising youth players. Need at least one in form striker to get promoted from league 1.

I remember a picture in match magazine with Boro players celebrating and the caption - Beck has just left to sign for Derby! I did think oh no

I was actually really angry when we signed Beck. He'd been a laughing stock at Boro' for how bad he was, and we were a good side. It was obvious to anyone who knew a smidgen about football that he would be an appalling signing, yet it was being talked about. And then it actually happened. It was baffling and extraordinary. And he proved even worse for us than he'd been for them. It makes me furious just to write this post now. What were we thinking? Embarrassing signing of an embarrassingly poor player.

I don’t think he scored that many at Boro. I thought it was an underwhelming signing for a team pushing for European football. Fuertes was a good player, ending up an Argentinian international later in life. He was also a very nice guy as my dad knew him and I met him several times as a youngster.  Shame it didn’t work out. Weird passport issues. Somehow he could play in France the season after.

Maybe Mel had no choice to put DCFC into admin because he is unable to fund the club anymore. He won't say anything about this or his finances maybe ever but certainly for now because it would put him in a weak position on stadium sale if people know he has no money. He's made a lot of bad/strange decisions and the crazy wages on mediocre players went on too long. He isn't a crook like the amigos. He just made really poor business and football decisions. COVID and EFL have played a big part of this as well. We almost got to the Prem and the story could be so different. Fine margins, sliding doors etc.

37 years old, suffered a serious injury last season, wasn't even signed until the day before the first game, and he's gone on to play every single second of the Championship campaign while hardly putting a foot wrong. That's quite incredible, really. I've always liked Curtis, but he's firmly elevated himself into the Derby legend camp now.

He's got to be one of the most respected players in the game today. Fans of every club he's played at give him a great reception when he plays against them, that shows what a committed, honest player he's always been.
I thought his career was pretty much over when he had that bad knee injury, but if anything he's been better than ever.
What a player, what a man.
