"Ms Connally said a paramedic crew witnessed the crash "entirely by chance" and came to the aid of two passengers at the scene as the defendants fled.  Lawrence and Bennett, 23, returned to the scene about 45 minutes later and were arrested."

Very disappointing to hear that they ran away from the scene, knowing what (and who) they were leaving behind. Shows a like of moral fibre. I hear people saying 'it's over, lets move on etc...'  Personally I don't think I would ever see either of these two players in the same light (prior to the incident) again. I would be happier if they were no longer at the club. Just my opinion.

    What sentence did you want?
Why are they horrible ? Have you met them ?
Give them a break and draw a line under it now like the rest of our good fan base, they’ve got young families and need support now not name calling

    Jake Buxton.
I have watched some of the best players England has ever produced, Kevin Hector, Roy McFarland, Colin Todd, David Nish, Charlie George, Peter Shilton, Mark Wright.
I've seen Derby County win the League twice .
I've seen unbelievably talented players like Ravenelli, Stimac, Asanovic, Kinkladze and Sammon pull on the famous black and white for Derby but never, ever, have I seen such a decent, ordinary bloke play with such courage, pride and commitment as Jake.
His winning goals against the gumps and the dirties will live long in the memory.
    I love Jake Buxton.

So they fled the scene just to save themselves, not to call for help etc as people have speculated.... ducking low life’s.
Pathetic sentence for a horrible crime committed by two pathetic horrible individuals

They will take it very seriously.
They will have suffered already and will still be suffering for their actions.

They should do all they can to redeem themselves but the club has behaved correctly IMO

I think if you were compelled to give up 180 hours of your life doing community service you might find it a bit less "pathetic".

How hypocritical can you get,This is their first  offence yet because they did it whilst Derby players you condemn then,But if a player has done the same whilst not being a Derby player at the time, thats fine with you.So good news for Rooney then

That's double standards - How do they prove they've learnt their lesson unless you give them time to do so?

Did you feel the same way about Jody Morris? Cos he got caught drunk driving at 27 - Going the wrong way up a one-way street at double the drink drive limit - Definitely as dangerous as what these clowns have done

    To me that sounds fair.
I know - and understand - that some of you wanted custodial sentences but I would fear for Lawrence the state that he's in.
I know, Keogh is also in a bad state and it could have been even worse but...
    punish and support, eh?

Sorry to read about your struggles.
The only people alive who haven't crashed and burned when it comes to matters of the heart are those who can't find the courage to admit their feelings.
It hurts and feels weird now, but eventually you'll be glad you told her, regret at not taking a chance can last a lifetime.
I often take on, or get assigned tasks that seem daunting on the face of it, yet most complicated assignments can be broken down into simpler, more achievable targets that eventually add up to a finished project.
If you can take the same approach, split the work into blocks, then tackle the hardest problems first if possible.
Once they are completed, you'll feel mentally it gets easier the further you progress, having broken the back of the task!
Finally, as for being miserable being back in Leeds, that's a perfectly normal reaction to life there, it's only temporary and will disappear when you leave!

I'm comfortably well off, but my missus passed away. I'd reverse those things in a heartbeat.
Life deals harsh cards sometimes; people and employers can be shitbags. You'll get through being skint, so long as you stick together for each other...and then you won't be skint, and you'll be stronger for the shared effort. Good luck SSD.

I think it is really sad when someone’s hatred towards another blinds them to anything positive about them.  If we had more crossing attempts similar to that one we’d have more goals

We did the drive from the Midlands to Lake Garda a few years ago and settled for 2 overnight stops. Google Maps shows 16 hours from Calais but there's 3 to 4 hours driving before you get down to the south coast. If we were to do the trip again we'd definitely fly to somewhere like Milan then hire a car. Probably cheaper but also far less hassle.

Respect and Humility from Lawrence today when he scored. There are those who are angry at everything who want him to burn at the stake for his sins but we need to move on now once the courts have made the ultimate judgement on all of this

Poor game.  Great result (And prediction league points for 2-0, so an added bonus!)
Shinnie good in general.  Excellent first half.  FloJo seems to be getting worse as each game comes his way... and that from a poster who rarely notices individual performances, and never normally singles out players for poor performances!  The rest were all between "a bit meh" and "Whatever"!
Poor show from the fans for booing the keep-ball... and for cheering the occasional long punt by Roos, despite 100% of them going straight to the oppo!  Fans are their own worst enemy at times.
Any ref who can allow a free kick for off-side to be taken in the oppo's half is akin to a decorator stepping off his step ladders and putting his foot straight into the paint tin.  I ain't a fan of slapstick.
Now... I've given a lot of stick to certain (alleged) Drunk drivers this past 10 days or so... and to the club too.  I didn't want either of them playing before the court date, but have come to appreciate that I have no say in the matter, as a mere "customer".  I wasn't particularly impressed by either "apology" either, be that content, or timing.  I wasn't overly convinced either were genuine and heartfelt.  Thus far, I have neither boo'd nor cheered their names, or their actions.
However, from my vantage point half way up the upper tier, in the NE corner, I probably had a better view than 98% of people in the stadium... of just how much that goal meant to TL.  He looked absolutely drained.  A mixture of true relief and guilt.  He was almost apologetic for scoring, never mind anything else!  As much as I detest his involvement in those events that night, I felt for the lad, if I'm honest.  It was quite emotional stood there, politely applauding his goal, and witnessing his reaction up close and personal.  It almost bought a tear, if truth be told.  I can tell all those doubters... He is remorseful.  He is full of regret.  He is riddled with guilt... Either that, or he is one hell of an actor!
He regained... in part at least... a little respect back from me today, strengthened by his determination to thank all stands after the final whistle, before being the last but one to go down the tunnel.  That in itself took guts, imo.  Seeing him today, I suspect he's lost a little of that cockiness now.  Personally, I'd say that was a good thing.
Onwards and upwards.  There's a long way to go yet... on the pitch, off the pitch, and in the law courts... but despite the to-ings and fro-ings of the last week and a half, today was a step forward... and I'm glad I had the balls to turn up and witness it!
