Indeed. He managed to cobble together a squad in 5 minutes, had very little time to get them ready for the new season but still got them just outside the play offs. You could see what the plan was, what the tactics were. Two seasons in I am still pretty clueless as to what our plan is under Warne. There wasn’t the need to make the change at that time. I am pleased that Liam is doing such a good job at Hull. A good young, progressive manager that I for one wish was still with the 🐏. When/if we replace Warne I hope we go for a young, exciting coach like Ipswich, Southampton and Hull have done 😊

At least games we didn’t win I was at least entertained and we had attempts on goal. Most game we were having 20 odd attempts at goal but just couldn’t score. Add to that season mcgoldrick scored most of our goals and he couldn’t use him he could have made a real difference to Roseniors short stint. Apart from the Lincoln game I enjoyed most of the games under Rosenior now I don’t enjoy games full stop apart from to say we won a game. A season ticket is a lot of money to go to games not for the omens but more of a chore to do so and this season and last I don’t get to Friday and think get in we have a game tomorrow but I will carry on going to game regardless as that’s what us Derby fans do

It's so frustrating when people suggest that if we played decent football we'd be lower down the division. There is nothing in that. Teams have gotten out of league one playing decent football. If we played decent football and integrated youngsters people could see direction. We currently don't have clear direction.
We'd likely be in a better position had Clowes just given Rosenior the chance from the beginning.
Rooney's football was of a better standard than the current football, in spite of the more difficult situation he was in.

Had Rosenoir taken us up which I am 100% convinced he would have done either last season or this season, I would trust him 100% to find players of Championship ability.
On the miracle/fluke Warne Ball gets us up, do you trust him to be able to attract any decent players to this club?

Well isn't that the job of a goalkeeper.
He was in poor form and was rightly dropped.
I think if Vickers was fit he'd be back in the team again on Saturday, correctly in my opinion because Wildsmith has been poor last 2 games again.

Here's my problem with it, and this has been the problem more or less all season:
Win or lose, 9 times out of 10, it is just awful to watch.
I think if we don't go up, he has to go. I'm not even convinced I'd like to see him manage us in the Championship, but he'll have earned the right to have a go at least, if we get there.

I joked last night that Warne was scared of Bradley - I think it was @Anag Ram Who suggested he loved him.
When I said Warne was scared of him. I didn’t mean in a physical sense, I meant more of a relationship power fear. He brought Bradley to be his big summer signing, and his leader (although didn’t have the balls to name his captain). As we know he started poorly, and Warne had no option but not to play him. However, he got a chance to get back in with Fozzy’s injury and although he hasn’t been great it seems, he has had a couple of solid games. However, if you are playing a back four, which I think we should it’s Nelson and Cashin at the back every day of the week on merit. However, last night Cashin finds himself at left back. I think Warne is scared to drop him even though 90% of the fanbase would. I can imagine Bradley towering over Warne, saying don’t you even think about dropping me pal! It’s a perception, and I may be wide of the mark, but those are my rambling thoughts this lunchtime.

Honestly, I think that a lot of the performances this season haven't really looked all that different to last night.  The only difference being that in those games we didn't make those silly mistakes, and NML/Hourihane/Collins etc pulled a goal or 2 out of nowhere and we ended up winning fairly comfortably.  And that's why a lot of people have been so frustrated, even when we've won, because it doesn't feel sustainable.  We aren't going to go the entire season without making silly mistakes, and without those key matchwinners getting injuries or getting tired or losing form, yet with the way we set up, it feels like we're going to have to.  And that's compounded because we know with the way we play, that players are going to pick up knocks, and that older players are going to get tired etc, and that's when the mistakes creep in and performances start to drift off.

Warne was a fitness coach, yet he can't keep players fit. Worrying. Yes their age will be a factor, but so will his training methods. Is he over training?
I'm sure many of you will remember Paul McGrath? Yes he was an extreme case in a different era, but he maintained a basic level of fitness, sometimes not training from one week to the next, yet he turned out week after week and did a good job.
I suspect Warne would be best placed to go gently with the older players, once they are "fit enough". Then he may just keep them fit and energetic for longer - NML included.

This is my biggest bugbear about Warne's management.  He can't resist the urge to tinker every game.
Pick a settled formation - and play it.
Pick a settled team and subject to injuries, play it. When you need to, substitute like for like.
And don't just take off your midfield and throw all your forwards on when you're chasing a win.
The players look lost at times. Sometimes they are playing two or three formations/positions in the same game. Their instinct and trust for linking play are completely nullified in that situation.

    A few points:
    1.  It's an entertainment business.  If the club think they can rely entirely on goodwill to keep people coming in through the gates, they're in for a shock.  And more than anything, playing entertaining football gives you something to fall back on when results don't go your way.  If you play well but manage to lose the game, people are still going to be largely positive.  If you play terribly and lose anyway, then what have you got? Nothing.
    2.  I think there's definitely an argument that going up and coming straight back down is worse than not going up this year, then going up in a season or 2 and staying there.  We are still a "temporarily embarrassed Championship club" in most peoples minds (potential signings included), going up and staying up reinforces that.  Proving that we can't compete at Championship level any more just hammers home that we might end up stuck permanently at this kind of level.  (Obviously I know you can't pick and choose your promotions, you take what you can etc.)
    3.  When did people get so down on the club?  It's like a big chunk of Derby fans have decided that we need to be punished and aren't allowed to have nice things any more.  It's *weird*.  We're not demanding that the club plays like Real Madrid every game, but it would be nice if we actually tried every now and then.  We're one of the biggest clubs in the league, with pretty much the biggest wage bill, probably the best academy and whatever else.  We should be going into games believing we can outplay the opposition, and okay if we can't then we find other ways to win, but we should at least be starting with that mindset.  I find the gamut of "it's League One, we have to play bad football" to  "we can't outplay teams, so we'll have to outrun them" type attitudes pretty sad to be honest.  We should be a team that plays good football and believes that we are good enough to beat teams by doing that.

Will never boo our team at end of match but was tempted last night. If we dont go up I would sack PW immediately. Season tickets will be down if fans are faced with another season of this football in league 1. If we do go up I would still sack him immediately. PW has shown nothing to suggest he will even consolidate us staying up in championship. I wouldnt want PW involved in any way in more player decisions at the club if it was my money. I would hope david clowes is planning for both scenarios and has someone who will give him good footballing advice. Having said that I will trudge for every home match, support team and manager whilst there and trudge home again, and even desperately try for at least one away.

Charlton are so poor they hadn't won in how many games? Oh come on Curtains last night was just another dreadful example of how Warne thinks we should play football - although I hear he threw his 'get out of jail' card into the ring, with a 'we haven't played well' all season remark! WTF. 😄 I can't remember the last game we played really well and still we manage to win games. But of course Warne tells us this League is much of a muchness so no wonder we struggle.
How long have you been watching us, how many managers have you seen? This guy is managing at a different level to most of the previous managers I remember so it is difficult to see just how bad he is, but he's bad. 👍

It's not point scoring (much like the football last night). It's a lot easier when you're sat at home to just write it off as a poor performance and move on, when fans go regularly and spend their money to sit in the cold to watch the crap served up, they aren't going to do that.

Something we seem utterly incapable of at the moment.
Hindsight's a wonderful thing, but even before the kick-off last night, both my son and I were staggered at the lineup, given the attacking talent we had on the bench. This, for a home fixture against a team at the wrong end of the table with a dreadful winless streak.
Neither of us is given to irrational knee-jerk reactions, being intelligent and level-headed men, but both of us have concluded that a change has to take place.  We know it won't be this season, so we'll suck it up and support the players, but we need to have a change at the helm in the Summer - whatever division we are in (League 1, most likely).  As others have said, attendance will continue to slide and this will impact revenues, given the turgid, lackluster and unexciting fayre being served.  Something is clearly not working, given the talent on paper at PW's disposal.  This group of players simply can't be so bereft of ideas; it must be down to how they are being coached to play the games. This league is a dire standard and whilst yes, we are still 2nd, I don't think that's because of our superiority, but rather the failings of others.
For the first time in my 60+ years of following this great club, I have never felt this despondent.  We will only get so many 'get out of jail' cards dealt and we must be near the end of them now.  We shouldn't have to rely on luck, but that's the only hope left right now for me.  If we do manage to limp out of this League, we'll face an even bigger challenge without some material change!

We should have got Chris Martin someone to hold the ball up , win free kicks ,defend corners, score from free kicks , someone who could physically take on centre half's.

Warne as gone for someone opposite to Collins totally pathetic decision.

100% this. We have a squad of players and many of them don't know where they'll be playing next season. Will our manager want to keep them, will they want to stay? Who will be recruited and who might come through from the Academy?
Do we as a Club want those decisions to be down to Warne and his horrible approach to football? It's not too late to change, it's better to do it now in a way, a new manager would have chance to change the way these players are sent out, although who knows how they were sent out in the second half last night!
I have no confidence that Warne will get us over the line, especially after the end of last season.

Here's a thought..late February and Mendez Laing runs out of steam...deja vu or what???
Another is ...how many injuries due to over running the players??
And the biggest was when he said ..Chris Martin wasn't his type of player...and yet a class player who can look after himself and score goals is exactly the type we need!

This is really a must win game  for Warne - another performance like last night could see the crowd turn on him. Think he is a decent guy but sadly out of his depth managing a club the size of Derby with the big expectation of the fans.

Technically it isn't of course but this kind of feels like a must win game (and win it reasonably comfortably) in order to restore some degree of confidence for the players and fans that we could continue to challenge for an automatic promotion place or, at least, be competitive in the play offs.
