Interesting game for a few reasons
Great to see some young lads trusted in the first team (sort of)
I can see Weston being elevated above Browne when we need back up now - nice goal and assist
Robinson needs more sub appearances/experience to develop further but as suspected has something about him
Nice to see others just not looking out of place. i Always love the complete lack of fear some youngsters seem to bring.
Good to get minutes and fitness into a few senior players too
Despite his defensive frailties I like Wilson - going forward he's a good player, always got a trick in him, much like NML, and is one of those that can create chaos for the opposition. I'd definitely be training him as a winger though.
Elder looks much improved of late, I think Fozzy needs a rest (at least from playing full back) so hope to see him start making that his own. Although I wouldn't object to Wilson for that matter, depending on the opposition.
And finally Collins, I know he's not everyone's favourite but he is still the most instinctive poacher and best finisher at the club and for that reason, especially when we aren't scoring, he needs to be starting. I feel he and Washington could be a good partnership.

United fans always though they were bigger than they were. Managed a 2nd place finish under Fergie and they were still moaning.

I can understand not necessarily wanting Brown to be stuck up front on his own.
Can see Wilson and Sibley coming on now before he even thinks about Brown.

Think you have to factor in the opposition. Most of the times we've looked better we've been made to look so by weak opponents.
Also games like this Bird and Hourihane can strut their stuff and not have to do the grittier jobs.
Can only beat what's in front of you though, and fair play to them, although we've fluffed a few attacks we've kept going. Let's hope it breeds confidence.
    Bird hattrick?

What I also found interesting was the comment from Warne to the effect of 'I've been to board meetings, but not the last one as it was on a match day". Yep, they're talking about you not to you mate.

How many managers realistically last that long after a vote of confidence?
Vote of confidence usually means 'you have a few more games to turn it around." but in reality it only happens when a team is doing terribly, and that upturn in form seldom comes.
We have a winnable few games, sadly not all in the league. Only takes one of the forwards to be on form to beat a team like Northampton and ease the situation a bit.
There should be an even bigger gulf to Crewe (but for a one off I quite fancy them to get a draw.) Wolves in the whocares cup barely counts as a first team fixture.
Barnsley is a bit of a free pass, so unless we've totally capitulated in the previous 3 then it's all about that next batch of 4 games which are against bang average or poor sides.
All players fully fit, and no excuses to hide behind - if we're still playing like dross and he won't make it past them regardless of what the club says now.
Never want us to fail, so hope that the run of matches through to December gives us a pretty achievable run of 6 or 7 wins out of 8 and leaves us looking at things more positively.
Either way it could all fall apart in January as players inevitably move on. Need to not only stay in the hunt until then, but also line up some decent replacements to come in and make an immediate impact.
A window like last January with mediocre loans and we're stuffed. Let's get some deals agreed in principle both in and out before that.

Almost as if we had to ride out the rough times a little longer than most would have liked but were then rewarded with a few years of positivity and near misses. Perhaps we’re facing a similar sort of challenge now.
As much as it’s not pretty, if Warne and co continue to deliver the divisive performances/results then they’ll still end up moving on and someone else gets a turn, just not as soon as some would like.
There’ll still be a club,  Clowes has refreshed the infrastructure of the club and backed the academy process which will hopefully bear fruit in time (first team players and/or saleable assets). The club is in theory debt free and will no longer be subject to the agreed EFL business plans of the last 2 years, which might see a bit more investment in the side. We might (probably will) lose some players, we might have to ride out some more time out of the limelight, but we’ll come again in time.
I know it’s not what everyone else feels but that’s my stance, I’ll just keep rolling with it cause it gives me something to think about beyond work and domestic life. (I’m also aware I don’t have the financial commitment some of you do and am in no way belittling that). Just offering a different opinion to many who are annoyed by todays “statements”, one thing is guaranteed…Warne won’t be here forever, it might just be that we have the choice to make as to whether we can accept the short term and stomach it for longer, or not, and that is a personal choice that people have to make.

Can't have that. We weren't great second half but nowhere near as bad as those last 6 games of Phil Brown.
