...but many weren't happy with Rowettball when it got us to the playoffs, so your argument is already falling down.
That was just the play offs and not a promotion, but we're only talking 3 games between one outcome and another, which can definitely be fluked even if you're a bit crap really.
Thankfully this is a thread about Paul Warne though,  not Gary Rowett, and despite initial misgivings further reading shows their styles are not a match.

The problem with Rowettball is watching your team sit back and let say a team like Morcombe dominate possession whilst you hope to score against them on the counter.  Given the resources of the two clubs most would find that approach unacceptable.  I definitely would irrespective of the results.

At least under Rosenior we dominated possession and took the game to the opposition, albeit often painfully slowly.

He has a track record which shows he knows what's required to get Rotherham up, that's for sure. But they're a club pretty much tailored to suit him with no real expectation, nobody gunning for them / seeing them as a scalp, and little pressure from the board or the fans if he goes through a bad spell.
He's being touted as 'an experienced manager' but that's only really in contrast to Rosenior & our past rookies. I wouldn't someone who's spent 6 years at one club only an experienced manager no matter how well they've done there, and we've seen enough times that success elsewhere rarely translates to success here.
Yes it's all we've got to go on at this stage, but there's some serious gun-jumping going on, some misplaced arrogance and an unrealistic view of where we are as a squad.
Despite concerns I actually am on-board with Warne now after more research on his style and approach in dealing with his squad. That said some of the 'joke-reels' already feel exhausting.
My opinion on people's comments, double standards and at times pathetic turncoat-like behaviour towards Rosenior and wilful / selective blindness are a separate matter.

If we manage to score one away goal in the next 4 games then Warne will be an immediate improvement on Rosenoir.

I think your likely to see the best of bird and collins
If what u say is right… and i think u are then bird will have more options AHEAD of him to hit instead of just one quite isolated front man and collins will have at least another body around him.
im also expecting more crosses and a general quicker delivery of balls into the box which is what collins has thrived off throughout his career

    “Time for a change”.
    After 9 games.
Does that mean that every manager only gets 9 or 10 games or one or two bad performances? If that’s the case then we are in for a never ending cycle of new managers (or at least calls for new managers by impatient fans).
I’m disappointed that LR has not been given the job permanently but I’m not crying or ‘wetting myself’ or anything like that. Happy to see what the new chap will do, but surely there comes a time when you have to give somebody a realistic amount of time to build a team and take the rough with the smooth?
If people were genuinely thinking it was ‘time for a change’ after so few games, what will change with Warne?
Probably nothing and I imagine those who are rejoicing at Warne’s appointment will also be the first asking for him to be replaced when there is any sign of adversity.
Obviously, there are times when a manager has to go. But I don’t think LR’s brief time in charge suggested anything like that.
Hey ho, I suppose the argument is that he was ‘just’ an interim and so it’s definitely not a knee jerk reaction to a couple of bad performances and the new chap will be given time. Hope so.

My worry is that if Warne does decide to change things up (and let's face it he has to, otherwise why would we go for him?) it might just unsettle what was showing signs of working.
The team in my opinion were just getting it together. It might take a new regime with a different playing philosophy another 9 or 10 games to get it right and get the players in that mindset, which could see us further down the ladder than we are now.
Hopefully, we will get the obligatory new manager bounce and he will be able to maintain it.

Mainly disappointed in some people's reactions tbh.
The one's who seem all of a sudden to have turned from patient with Rosenior, supportive of what he was doing and willing to let him make mistakes while he finds his feet, now full of how they never liked his style in the first place, how he's got a great League One squad and is underachieving, they don't like how pally he is with some players, how they talk about stuff together rather than him being the clear leader etc. (Probably forgetting Rooney's meetings with Davies & Jagielka)
We saw it a bit with Rooney too tbf, bigged up so much when he was here that it felt like people were willfully blind to his mistakes and brushed them under the carpet, but when he left all of the doubts started coming out. Well, most of them, he still has a few hangers on who've applied massive double standards to his time against Rosenior's.
I suppose it's just the way some cope with change as supporters, but some of the things people are using to justify Rosenior leaving & Warne coming in are rather a stretch and feel somewhat forced, and any potential problems with Warne are already being whitewashed.
There's a lot of talk about Rotherham's budget being small, used as a defence against them being relegated every time they go up. First time (I think) he got them up they came down with the worst record ever at Championship level (23 points). Even our decimated squad last season got to 34 and that's with a 21 point deduction!
I'm not bringing this up to have a go at Warne, but I do find it interesting that it's hardly even been mentioned. He was allowed that season by their board and by their fans, however catastrophic the performances on the pitch must have been to accrue so little over 46 games. He won't get anywhere near that level of patience here, obviously. I'm a bit worried though, looking at how some people's true colours have so quickly revealed themselves with Rosenior, that he won't have very much time to make his mark here at all before people turn on him.
I'll wait and see how it goes. I've criticised some of the decisions Rosenior has made and very much advocated needing a different approach away from home - which ironically he may have found in his final home game - but I've also been supportive of the idea of letting him learn.
I'll just continue doing that with Warne, but my gut feeling is still not great tbh and I hope we aren't adrift by January if results plummet while he figures out how to manage a larger club, and how to play direct football when we don't have a striker at the club who can play as a target man.

    It's important to history.
I think the death of a King or Queen is something to be marked by British people. It's the story of our history. The story of our past. And also many of the commonwealth nations may feel the same.
I don't think I'd say the whole world has to be flipped on its head for an event to be of significant interest.
It's an event that has rippled across the world. It's gained huge attention. It brings the end of an era. It turns a new page in the history books and there's a new chapter.
I don't expect everyone to cry over it. I don't expect everyone who doesn't care to shout from the roof tops that they don't care (they obviously care), I don't expect it to cure cancer.
And what will surprise some people is that you can care about this AND other things too. Or you can care about nothing.
I don't think there's been an outcry of "why don't you care!!?". I've seen more of people asking "why should I care". Well, don't. That's fine.
I just thought it was a shame we can't all be brought together in one of the few events that brings about an excuse to celebrate our land, our people, our heritage, our history.
Just as it's a shame, to me, that my Mrs gets bored in Slovenian museums and vanishes off leaving me to look for her! I just love history and think it plays an important role in giving us all identity. A belonging. Which is something we all seek.
Plenty of people have died that are of significant interest to millions and millions. Life will go on. But I don't feel the need to jump in and say I don't care. Or call it irrelevant. If that person has impacted millions of lives in any way I say that's significant. Worthy of a page in history.
I think it's a shame that France no longer has a monarchy. French Kings, Emperor's even, it all links modern France to it's deep history. Its influence on the world. It's fascinating characters. It's the foundations of modern day France and I think it would be nice to see that still living today.
You're right, the Queen was a face on a stamp etc. But that's the breadcrumbs for future generations. Her death is a significant day in history.

    Ironic.
We're not here to mess around but we're going to give someone the job on an interim basis, let them develop a certain style of play suited to the players we could get (the only players we could get) and then, 2 months after the start of the season, we're going to look to employ a manager who's style of play is the polar opposite of the one we've done all that work on and which doesn't suit the players we've signed (the only players we could get).

Obviously I've caught a few bits here and there where it couldn't be avoided, but I haven't intentionally paid attention to any of it tbh. I'm not really a 'joiner-inner' anyway, any hint of 'expected' active participation and I get uncomfortable, just let other people get on with doing their thing and hope nobody tries to force me into action.
I'm not sure I even think of it as a significant world event tbh. It doesn't really change anything about the way most people go about their lives. It's just replacing one head of state who doesn't actually influence much of anything meaningful these days for another. The new one might not be present the same 'cuddly' image but well, oh well.
Clearly though it's important to a lot of people, many do care about it, but as far as I can see its actual significance is really quite confined to those who already feel it's more significant that it is. A self-perpetuation of perceived importance that ultimately amounts to a different face on a few coins & banknotes, changing some song lyrics and watermarks on product packaging and everyone proceeding to live their lives exactly as they had been doing before.
That's how I feel about it all anyway. Not saying I'm right.

It may not be, but all signs so far point to it being the case. Rotherham may not agree though?
It's not about whether Rosenior deserves the job or not, but  if you aren't going to keep him on then surely you look for a replacement who will continue to do the positive things we have been doing, not tear them jup for a different style?
