There were better than us for sure. Energy all over the pitch, good movement ,quality on the ball, as good a side we've seen at PP this season. Morsy had the freedom of PP. But, 1-1 and it's a different game. What the lino saw, I' ll never know. Commentary on ITV highlights says foul on the keeper and he is standing there on his line with no one around him. Terrible decision.

I think he was stopping the game anyway before the keeper kicked it out, which I guess if shoe was on the other foot then you’d the ref to stop the game. I do think those players should be made to go off for a certain amount of time because in that instance only Derby suffered because we were growing momentum which Ipswich were able to stifle with a long stoppage. Enforce the player to go off for a minute  and see how many go down or roll back onto the pitch to receive treatment.

It was because they were miles better than us at 0 0 and after the goal were easily able to keep us at arm's length.  If we did that to a top 6 side away from home we would rightly be saying what a good job we had done.

Well that was quite an ill-tempered match. Lots of ugly challenges and timewasting throughout.
I was shocked to see Warne go to the 3 at the back today as it didn't work against us at Portman Road and his fortunes seemed to improve when he ditched it back in November. Not a lot changed when he made the switch today, but had he played a different system at the start, I wonder if Derby would have settled into the game better.
We started really well and the movement for Chaplin's goal was sublime. We didn't really capitalise beyond that though and Mendez-Laing clearly had the beating of Greg Leigh whenever he took him on. McGoldrick definitely should have done better with that header and I was happy we went into half-time still ahead.
I've only seen one replay of the disallowed goal but it looked harsh and there's every chance the game could have turned had it been given so it's a big what if. The referee was really poor, he lost control of the game and his decisions with yellow cards were very inconsistent. I'd be surprised if he gets given any of the important games in the run-in because even by League One standards, he was bad and couldn't get a grip on things.
I thought overall we dominated the game and took our chances well, neither team had too many clear cut opportunities but we did enough. The Cashin goal will understandably be the big talking point because it seemed to drain Derby's confidence thereafter.
There's still a long way to go though, most of the top 8 teams are either on amazing or awful runs of form which surely can't sustain itself for another month. As you probably know, Warne's Rotherham team went through some incredibly patchy spells either side of their winning runs.
Good luck for the rest of the season and maybe see you in the playoffs. Although hopefully not, in the nicest way possible!

I'd have loved to see either MM or the administrators challenge our punishments in court, I suspect that we'd still be in the championship.
Remember, we were given a 9 point penalty for a practice that wasn't illegal until February of last year. In addition, other clubs have been allowed a relaxation of financial practises due to COVID, no such allowance had been given to Derby. Other clubs have been allowed to bring action against Derby, against League rules.

Ipswich not conceded in 7 league games.

This has to be the ideal game for James Collins 🤣🤣

Live in Ipswich, this image is 10ft high outside their ground.  Scared the kids and I haven’t been able to sleep properly since seeing it.

I've only just watched the 'highlights' : trip on White was a penalty - the minor deflection off the Boro defenders toe doesn't mitigate the trip. The assault on White by a couple of their players afterwards deserved more than one yellow card. A mate who was there said the ref was incompetent and the only play I've seen bears that out.
Poor defending for both goals, but Wildsmith will, I think, be annoyed with himself at being beaten on his near post for the first and failing to make a safe save for the second. He's been done on his near post a few times now and perhaps the GK coach needs to do a bit of work with him. Two other very good saves though, so he's certainly not responsible for the defeat.

You might well be right. As well as not being able to adapt to the opposition manager shaking things up, it could be a state of mind thing.
This is the exact message I sent at Half time to my Arsenal supporting friend:
”Typical Derby I fear. Dominated the first half but failed to capitalise. They can’t normally maintain it for both halves and/or Warne can’t react to the other team changing things and stepping it up. Defeat incoming”🙁

I think the frustration is that it seems to be a penalty if it’s at our end, such as Plymouth. Fine margins. We don’t seem to have had the rub of the green with decisions such as this and hence the issue becomes exacerbated. Either they are both penalties or neither is. The same can be said for numerous other incidents this season.

I am slightly of the belief that there is a desire for refs to show that they are not swayed by a big crowd whilst at Pride Park. Or maybe they are all just extraordinarily poor.

However, what is clear is that we desperately have to find players who need to slowly tie their boot laces when defending a lead, have serious injuries to their head that need treating via their ankle being rubbed and a goalkeeper with a Velcro top meaning he is unable to let the ball go for 15 seconds when about to kick it. These players seem crucial in league one. Separate issue and not necessarily related to the game yesterday but still.

Well it’s the hope that kills you , fantastic run put us in the top 6 and nailed on to stay there with a real shot at chasing top 2 ,that certainly had the effect of making me forget what a mess we were in and my hope to avoid relegation this season before we kicked off , bought two season tickets even though we hadn’t renewed for a few seasons before that and I bought them expecting to watch us struggle but my driving factor in buying them was to put a tiny bit of money into the club after a fan like dc had saved us when perhaps he wasn’t brimming with the funds needed to wave a magic money wand and was restricted also , I remind myself of that this morning as I adjust my expectations, this is a derby that has been decimated over the last few years and I for one will do what I’ve always done when we are in it up to our necks ,,,, get behind the club ,
we were never in the top six under liam with this squad ? And we may not finish in it under warne , im gonna support the team and the manager for the rest of the season and cross my fingers for a return to form and another good run , im not going to slate those fans slating the manager or certain players because it’s bloody hard work being a derby fan at times and I feel the disappointment and frustration just like they do

Putting aside how we played and whether we 'deserved' anything from the game as football match results aren't decided on merit rather on goals scored and conceded, it still gets me how Harvey White being tripped in the box didn't lead to a penalty to us to potentially bring it back to 1-1.
Almost identical to the one given against us at Plymouth that won them the game.
It does not matter whether their player got the minutest of touches on the ball or not, the laws of the game make no mention of this.
If the ref judged it was not a penalty, then White should have been shown a yellow for simulation. I'm sure the yellow he was shown together with the Peterborough player was for the fracas that ensued afterwards.

Under Paul Warne we have now won just 2 of 14 games against top 14 sides.
    Posh 2-0 Derby
    Derby 0-2 Fleetwood
    Plymouth 2-1 Derby
    Derby 2-2 Shrewsbury
    Barnsley 4-1 Derby
    Derby 2-0 Charlton
    Derby 1-1 Lincoln
    Wycombe 3-2 Derby
    Derby 2-1 Bolton
    Bolton 0-0 Derby
    Derby 0-0 Sheff Wed
    Portsmouth 0-0 Derby
    Derby 0-0 Exeter
    Ipswich 1-0 Derby

Now is our atrocious record against anyone half decent in this league down to the manager or the players?
What is alarming is after the Ipswich game, we actually looked solid against the likes of Pompey, Bolton and Owls.
Since Wycombe we have looked anything but. Regressed.

Yes dominated!!! the first half all 3 of White Hourihane and Bird dominated their midfield …they struggled to get out of there half we won ever second ball and moved it around nicely …White included who you seem to dislike ….the problem comes when you dominate but don’t make it count ! We didn’t as we are toothless up front when a Didzy is not at it …Dobbin if he had held his position on the left could’ve picked up some of the crosses from NML instead he was too central …hourihanes cross into the box from a free kick was sublime …but not one player on the end of it …there were a few decent deliveries with no end product …Barks should’ve scored but without decent strikers we aren’t going to score enough
if we had gone in 2-0 at HT it wouldn’t have been an injustice but when you don’t take opportunities when you’re in total control there is always the chance you’re going to end up with nothing …no team dominates for the entire 90 mins …We are lacking pace and power up front and no disrespect to Didzy but he’s no youngster …he needs a rest sometimes … who for? Dobbin for me is not good enough and I don’t get the springett signing ….out midfieId 3 would get into most teams in the top 6 and of our division ….but we are toothless and Collins is woeful ….a tryer yes but woeful ….also Cashin needs to get his form back …Fozzy and Roberts we’re good today Cashin wasn’t ….

I disagree in some ways. I don’t buy this plan b malarkey. If Plan A is good enough then it only needs tweaking, no top teams ever completely change to plan B.
Today was a game of 2 halves. We were great first half but created little. They were the opposite and buried us 2nd half. Our midfield was poor. No bite, overran. Warne didn’t react. Bringing Collins on when our midfield was over ran made little sense. Sibley should’ve been the first sub. A midfield of Bird, White, Hourihane is too lightweight.
Massive struggle for the playoffs. Time to step up Derby!

In that season, we had a strong performance arc that made us feel invincible. This season was similar, if you asked 2 months ago how ppl felt about automatics, it was not how you describe it. A lot of us felt as if we had a solid chance at it. There has been a dropoff in the past 9 games, and the performances have been poorer, and so have the results. In our more recent games (before 2 months ago), we do not look like the team we were. Perhaps this will change, but currently, we look like a shadow of our former selves. This is precisely why I invoked 14-15 because we looked unstoppable until we didn't.
I'm not sure what is wrong with pointing this drop off out or saying losing to Fleetwood at home in such a manner is disgraceful to a club like ours. It's not tolerable, it's not good enough and the sooner it is resolved the better.

No not at all. The first alarming result (and performance) was defeat at Wycombe. Our first real test and we blew it. Ditto Barnsley. Ditto Plymouth. We had a goal ruled out for offside against Lincoln, but the goal we scored was offside. We were playing against 10 men. At home. To Lincoln. No excuses this is shambolic.

Well rubbish drive home in pouring rain, of course today. Been mulling it over and muttering on drive home. Still gobsmacked by that. Just where was the effort at all? Its like a totally different team. I generally dont mention just one player but if James Collins could concentrate on actually playing football and trying to read the game and intentions of team mates and not fouling, gobbing off and narrowly avoiding fights he may offer more

The fact it took us until the 70th minute or so to get a corner, and the 80th minute for a shot on target is appalling.
Meanwhile we had to defend around 7 or 8 corners during this time frame.

The football is atrocious. Hit the ball into a channel and hope our oil tanker striker runs onto it or one of our wingers didn’t come short.
I just didn’t see any plan today, that is what disappoints me.

Everything Stockley offered up front for them is what I expected Collins to offer us. Wins headers, holds it up, causes problems.
He literally does nothing. I'd have Stockley in this team over Collins in a heartbeat.
