  1. Why is it a stewarding problem that a few thousand idiot fans decide to ignore seat allocations and just gather where they like?. You'd need a lot of stewards to deal with that. Would you fancy being the one telling 300 drunk geordies that they've got to go to their allocated seat?!

As others have said, the authorities / clubs need to get a hold of this or safe standing will be dead before it starts.

  2. Recently got bored of all my music while at the gym, so I've recently started watching Life In Pieces (Prime) again from the beginning, while on the machines.

Ideal to pick up and put down because each episode is split into stories of about 5 minutes each.

Much sweaty chuckling and the occasional LOL. Good job the gym is usually very quiet.

  3. I took the plunge yesterday and took Miss Wolfie (just turned 10) along for her first match.

I was concerned she'd be bored because she doesn't ever sit & watch a whole match on TV with me and, to be fair, she was showing signs of losing interest midway through the first half.

3 goals later and her laughing at the bouncing South stand in a great second half meant that she thoroughly enjoyed it and asked me on the way home when she can go again. It also helped that it gave her something to brag about at school today, with pretty much everyone else in her class being F*rest fans.

Just read an interesting article about these new bladeless wind turbines (or "Skybrators" as they have been nicknamed ?)

They essentially use complex fluid dynamics to create a vibration as a result of wind, which in turn generates electricity

    https://vortexbladeless.com/

They take up less space, can be packed closer together than wind turbines,  are 45% cheaper to build for the same output, don't kill birds, cheaper to maintain (as the mechanisms are at ground level) and considerably quieter

    Sounds promising!

Weird. How on earth do they not shake themselves to bits after 10 minutes?!.

A field full of those things quivering away would look very strange?

To be fair, I think the popularity of the two films suggests it has worked in most people’s eyes. I think he’s great.

Me too & I read that he really enjoys the role as well.

He wasn't exactly a household name pre-Bond though, so I can understand why it could be a shock for some (uncultured philistines?)

Watched the Glass Onion first and wasn't madly keen, but thought I'd try the first and purportedly superior first outing. Gave up around 30 minutes in. More ham than a butcher's shop.

That's sort of the point of the Murder Mystery genre, though. the old Agatha Christie adaptations were full of it.

I didn't enjoy Glass Onion as much as Knives Out. I thought it was dull for the first hour or so - until the dog leg structure came into play and the plot changed. After that I thought it was decent but the script wasn't as witty and the cast not as strong as Knives Out.

Liam Rosenior is undefeated in his opening five away games as Hull manager, winning three and scoring eight goals.

Maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t the problem behind our awful away record last season.

….and this season. Wasn’t it no goals or points from the first 4 away? - which probably lost him the job

  8. OK so we finally got to the end of Stranger Things 4 last night.

Not that bad overall but it didn’t half take its time getting there, with far too much padding out.

Once we’d had the big reveal in episode 7 as to who Vekna is and why, what we didn’t need was another 3 1/2 hours over 2 over-long episodes, bringing it all to a bit of a non-conclusion.

Not sure I’ll bother with season 5.

Automatic promotion must be the aim this season, especially with some well thought out moves in the window. We’ve currently got the second best defensive record despite not having a proper right back ( which is a big compliment to the players that have fitted in there so far). The Bolton game will be a big statement if we take 3 points .

While I agree with that, it's quite a gap to the top 2 - points wise.

I can't see us failing to make the playoffs now, based on what you've said, but I definitely can see us failing to make up the 11 points to 2nd

  10. I'll be collecting from the local butcher tonight:

    For Christmas eve:

    3kg ham joint

    For Christmas day:

    2.5kg turkey breast joint

    2.5kg beef sirloin joint

Plus sausage meat and 20 x large pigs in blankets

Trouble is, there are supposed to be 8 of us but due to the horrible winter cold things going round, there's a good chance it might be only 3 as of this morning.......and Miss Wolfie doesn't really like meat.

Looks like I'll have to try & make some room in the freezer.

Without sounding all Larry David, the premature "Merry Christmas".

Been hit with it three times already this morning.

Knocked me right out of my stride. If it ain't Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, just say hello/goodbye.

    To you, sir...

sorry for being so fabulous GIF

I say it to people if I'm not going to see them again before Christmas (and if I like them). You're saying you hope they have a merry christmas

As a footnote, my old car has been overlooked for a long while on Cazoo.

It's now up for sale for more than a grand less than I sold it to Webuyanycar.com, yet has been serviced and had the alloys attended to.

No wonder they've lost most of their peak market value, in an effort to appear honest they're highlighting faults which aren't really there.

    https://www.cazoo.co.uk/car-details/4f5bc4f0-8f30-55f1-ab62-fece7e023452/

The only thing which can't be polished out is the very slight dent in the rear passenger door, which any decent paint less repairer should solve for £100 or less.

It's an absolute bargain at the price it's now advertised as, 6000 miles in 3 years and never been thrashed.

Cazoo are struggling, so there might be a lot of bargains while they try and shift some of their over-priced stock. Not a great position to be in with second hand car prices now falling from record highs.

I don't know how many sites they have but they've got a big one on the same business park as my company, with thousands of cars parked up, on and around the runway of an old airforce base. In the last year, they've gone from rapid expansion and trying to buy up any vacant buildings on site, to making a lot of people redundant.
