There's something worrying about any country that has to have a Ministry of Communications IMO

Black Mirror - Bandersnatch
An "interactive" film on Netflix where you get to choose how the story unfolds.....
Enjoyed this up to the point I realised that you don't really get that much choice if you want it to actually reach a proper conclusion - there's only really one "correct" path to go down and so it just gets repetitive.
7/10 for an hour or so. Ended up a 5/10. Can't see any reason why I'd want to "watch" it again.
It did make me want to dig out my old Fighting Fantasy books from my school days, though.

Have now finished Boat Story.
Worra load of s****, I can't recall a series that started so promisingly yet ended so poor.
A waste of the considerable talent assembled, I can see why the Beeb haven't pushed it.
Thank you. I was just saying to Mrs Wolfie last night that maybe we should start that. Don't think I'll bother now.

Rain on my parade! See if I care? 🤣 I've driven Bentleys and Aston Martins, and several Lexus, and I do love this motor. And I was looking at picture of Kate Moss the other day (in the National Portrait Gallery) and did notice she has a really weird shaped head.

Hi all, as a middle-aged newbie to the forum, could one of you lovely people please explain how to use the quote function? It's no doubt really simple and I'm being a bit thick, but me and technology are not exactly best friends!
Welcome. Tap or click the word Quote under a post, to copy it into a new post and add your comment - add it underneath the quote box, not in it.
If you want to quote more than one post, tap or click the + on all the ones you want to comment against. Once you’ve done this, a “quote # posts” box should be at the bottom of the screen. Tap or click that and they all will appear in a new post for you to comment on.

Well. let's close down the forum then, because they know better. All comment is futile.
They bloody well should know better, shouldn't they?. I'd be concerned if the various coaches around the club didn't know any more about the relative quality of our young players and suitability for the first 11 than the chuckle brothers here on a forum.

I'm surprised this has only got around 45,000 signatures.
The government has already said they aren't going to do it, but 100,000 would at least force them to debate it.
Maybe MPs don't live in the sort of places where folk are letting fireworks off late into the night for months!
Different issues, though. The petition is trying to use safety as the main justification for the ban.

if I click this link, will Jasper Carrot appear? 😄
Maybe 😉
Don't know why it didn't embed as usual though. It wasn't meant to be clickbait!

"The Detectives" (BBC, available via iPlayer). 3 episodes. A distressing violent crime in Rochdale leads local detectives into an operation aimed at taking down a drug-dealing OCG.
I found it a fascinating, but ultimately depressing, journey through our broken justice system.
Presumably not this one, then?....

It’s all been said.
I didn’t know him. Never met him.
But his unbridled love and positivity for DCFC just made me smile every single time I saw one of his posts.A bright light amongst all the darkness.
Shine on, B4. Shine on.

For the first time in almost year, I've been on Volcano Cafe and the Icelandic Met Office sites earlier today. There's been a pretty sizeable swarm over the last week or so, and as you say, it's very close to Grindavik. It certainly looks as though Þorbjörn is getting ready to blow its nose.
Karl Rehnberg posted an article about it a couple of days ago, and he reckons 'imminent'.

That's a really informative and entertaining read (I mean the link, though your post is lovely as well). Thanks!.

There was that clip at the weekend about the Hull howler....Pass pass pass around the back 4; lose the ball; concede.
Took me right back to his time here.

The apologies issued don’t bother me but they also serve no purpose (in my opinion). The bad language still occurred and anyone offended by it (or watching with children who they’d rather didn’t hear it) are not likely to think “we’ll that’s OK then. They apologised”.
The TV company would probably be in trouble with Ofcom if they didn't apologise for bad langauge before the watershed. Same as any other live TV or Radio broadcast - and there are probably written rules about it.
They should just not have microphones so close to fans. It didn't used to be a problem.

A Haunting in Venice
The third of Ken Brannagh's Agatha Christie adaptations, and a story that I knew nothing about.
OK, but the weakest of the three IMO. I do want to see it agian, though, because I was knackered when we went to the Cinema, so may have missed a few inutes in the middle.

Isn't it romantic (Netflix)
Rebel Wilson has a hum-drum life. Bangs her head during a mugging and wakes up in a rom-com.
A decent film that makes fun of every rom com cliche there is.

Marvel films always had an element of light-hearted humour, right from Iron Man. Thor: Ragnarok bought an over-the-top, silliness that worked for that film. It mixed so well with the darker elements of the movie. The problem is that they then took the character completely into the incompetent man-child, and away from the god/leader that he is.
Marvel films need an element of humour to keep them balanced, as they are ultimately aimed at the whole family. It can be jarring when shoved down your throat though, I agree
The bold bit is where I beg to differ. For me, it clashed horribly with the darker moments and removed much of the drama. But hey, each to their own.

Loved this. Thanks.
The most fun I’ve had watching a comedy/horror since “Ready or not”
The fact that it’s got Mrs Griswold from my favourite Christmas film in it, is purely coincidental of course.
Something not quite perfect about the ending for me but a cracking watch for a Christmas film - for adults.
