Callum Lang and Joe Taylor at a guess

Agree Lang will have been one.

Just think the other is likely Will Evans as Warne made the point about going to a game to scout that night & said the player did well who he watched.

Taylor had already signed for Lincoln by that point. He looked real handful against us at their place too.

  2. Interesting who Warne was referring to in his interview after the game on 2 x January targets who scored yesterday.

I think one was Will Evans from Newport. On the night Warne confirmed he was going to scout a game in January, Newport played with Evans scoring.

He would have been an ideal signing.

No, it wasn’t Ennis, not trying to be ITK all of a sudden but as I mentioned briefly on Saturday I met Mr Clowes on the way to the ground and we had a brief conversation.

He said it was disappointing that the deal fell through at the last minute and I said was it Ennis, and he said no. Didn’t say who it was though, guess that’s the end of my journalism career 😂

Yeah definitely wasn't Ennis as Warne alluded that the player remained at the club.

    Maybe it was Gregory?

Didn't sound like it. Warren specifically said the chairman, player, agent had all agreed & the manager pulled the plug on the deal. With Wednesday it was well publicized it was the chairman making the demands we wouldn't agree too.

Warne talked about a striker who is set to sign for another club today who he would have liked to sign if he can’t get his top targets. Only striker I can see it being is Will Goodwin who’s set to sign for Oxford who is going for 400k. We must have some decent funds if he’s the striker he was looking at.

This will be Niall Ennis. Set to sign for Bolton on loan (Ex Plymouth)

  6. Couldn't agree more. We fully deserved to win the game & completed dominated, bar a crazy 10 minutes where they scored 2 goals out the blue.

As for the negativity on Radio Derby, im used to it at this point. Ive mentioned before about Steele. Bloke is negative week after week. Bloke genuinely hasn't got a clue.

Another win & well on our way!

In the same interview, Warne also said he was off to watch a player he really likes tomorrow night

Yeah, if Warne is going himself to watch I would suggest he’s a major target. Just looked thru the fixtures & my guesses would be one of the following:

    Armando Dobra (Chesterfield)

    Davis Keillor-Dunn (Mansfield)

    Owen Moxon (Carlisle)

  8. Striker - Clear as day we need a focal point leading the line. If Bishop played for us, we would be top of the league. Watched Langstaff the  other week & think he would be ideal. Would give us some much needed pace & movement.

Wide Player - Pace & Power a must!! Another wide player in the Mendez Laing mould. Blackett-Taylor would be ideal, but it may be touch with championship interest. Think there may be legs in the CJ Hamilton interest. Id be looking at the Peterborough boys Mason Clark & Poku if a deal could be done.

Attacking Midfielder - We've been crying out for an attacking midfield player who scores & creates goals for 2/3 years. Knight & Bird played in that role the last couple of years & both better deployed deeper as they don't add the attacking contribution needed there.

Its encouraging to hear Warne talk about adding power & pace into the team, as it is severely lacking.

  9. Pre Season so you can't read too much into it, but its an awful 1st half. Bird probably the only bright spark as he pressed well on occasions.

Collins can't lead the line for us this year. He wasn't good enough last year & is nowhere near good enough for a team trying to get promotion.

Dobra by far the best footballer on the pitch in that 1st half

  10. Looks an ideal signing. Busy, intelligent footballer with some pace. Scored some great goals last season out of nothing. Think he would be a perfect foil for a bigger target man in a 3-5-2. Hopefully some truth to this!

  11. Forsyth & Oduroh having an absolute nightmare. Can’t keep the ball and impossible to play the way Rosneior wants if the full backs aren’t comfortable on it. Cashin & Stearmna equally as poor too.

Too many players deep when we are building meaning Stretton is so isolated (as was Collins on Saturday). Can’t play like this in league one.

Boring to watch too. No tempo or forward thinking to our play.

  12. Good performance, much better than them. Just nothing up front. Plange offering nothing at all again. Much rather Stretton be given a run of games. More mobile and busier. Always looks like getting into chances when he plays (granted he missed a few).

While Ravel is frustrating, definitely better tonight playing further forward tonight. Hopefully Kaz comes on and wins the game for us!

  13. Poor performance and just sums up where we are at right now. The 2nd goal is absolutely criminal. Hands are tied with the restrictions, but so many players just not good enough. Roos, Fozzy, CKR, Baldock all nowhere near if we want to compete in this league. Plenty others underperforming as well...particularly Lawrence who needs to do so much more.

Morrison as likely as anyone and needs to pick up the ball in and around the box as much as possible. Great quality at times 2nd half. Ebosele should be playing off the right hand side, kept coming inside running into bodies off the left as doesn't have a left foot.

Think a change of formation is needed to mix it up:

    Marshall

    Jagielka Stearman Davies

    Ebsoele                              Buchanan

    Bird     Shinnie

    Morrison

    Lawrence  Stretton
