GboroRam got a reaction from Highgate in Hoofball
For those people who are saying "grind out results" and "you need to play this style to win these types of games".
What if that own goal hadn't gone in?
What if the offside hadn't been wrongly given?
What if Wisdom didn't get it on target?
We were very lucky yesterday. That performance was right up there with a Phil Brown game, and we all know it. We could easily have come away with a defeat. What would you be saying if we'd been turned over by Wycombe after that performance.
Thankfully our manager isn't sugar coating it, and he knows that those kind of performances won't keep us up long term. Absolutely poohoused it last night, as we should have walked away with nothing.Â

Glad some of you  didn’t mark my GSE/CSE exams in 1976 some right low marks being given out.Â
Can’t imagine the sort of scores you would have given Coop et al in the late 80’s early 80’sÂ

My thoughts are those who say don't worry about the performance, it's all about the result. We were lucky to get that result - without a referee's mistake we get a point. You can't say you need to play hoofball to win games like that, when the result should have been different.
I do care about the performance. And the result.

Around 11k per year I think. One good outcome from this pandemic is this being so low this year, one expects that it to be a one off unfortunately, flu is often transmitted from overseas hence another reason for being low.
Also lots of other things to take into consideration, road traffic etc....but as you say, some will believe falsifying a death certificate is the root cause 😳

Also there would be less flu deaths as old people are shielding and people are wearing masks.
Unless you have a relentless agenda like some, then it's proof of the great conspiracy.

GboroRam reacted to Chester40 in Joss Stone
This has been my contribution to a 'give and take' relationship for the last month or two.Â
The missus was equally distraught about Joss Stone being the winner.Â
Its tv hell for me but I suck it up for the rewards it brings. The panel antics really get up my nose, as did them continuously suggesting 'it could be Madonna, it could be Jayzee'.. Yehhh or it could be some bloke off Pop Idol or a girl band.Â
I would prefer it if they had more non-singing people. Its vaguely interesting to watch someone from another walk of life showing they can sing but finding out JLS members can sign is not that much of revelation really.Â

GboroRam got a reaction from ariotofmyown in Coronavirus
I posted this back in December, which shows just how many people are included in the "pre-existing conditions" classification, which was broken down in an NHS deaths spreadsheet which outlined the categories of pre-existing condition and number of people who had them who died with Covid.Â
There is an interesting breakdown of stats in the attached spreadsheet, especially Tab4
I was wondering what the health of the population is, and how many people could be classed as having a pre existing condition. Of course there will be multiple illnesses at once in individuals but its shocking. I'm not surprised at all that most people who die have a pre existing condition.Â
Asthma - 12%
Chronic kidney disease - c. 3m, 4%
Chronic neurological disease - hard to find a definition, but between 1 and 10m, so could be up to 6.5%
COPD - 1.2m, nearly 2%
Dementia - 850k, just over 1%
Diabetes - 4.7m, 7%
Rheumatoid arthritis - 1%. Other diseases may be added in this categoryÂ
Coronary heart disease - 7.4m, 11%
Obesity, not on the list but added as we're talking about it - 28.7%

GboroRam reacted to BIllyD in Coronavirus
I've always said and will continue to do so, that's if it was down to me I'd lift the restrictions tomorrow. There is always going to be a risk based approach needed, the virus isn't going anywhere and as in flu etc...unfortunately it is going to results in deaths 😢
However, my caveat is that lifting them must be done on the proviso that we don't end up in another lockdown, therefore the key stats must be taken into account before that call is taken. No point in assuming something will happen, been there done that, didn't work, therefore just because a group has been vaccinated for me shouldn't be the trigger to lift them. Imagine lifting then tomorrow and two months down the line we have a health service under extreme pressure again as the R number goes through the roof and those without the jab flood out hospitals. This then impacts everyone, vaccinated or not and we are looking down the barrel of another lockdown.
Numbers are tumbling, ICU is the only one slower than the others for obvious reasons, I fully expect based on trials, analysis, predictions etc...that come a couple of weeks time we will have enough information to let kids back into school early March and then soon after starting to open up the rest of the country. Until we have that confirmation though, I back the government's stance to wait, an extra couple of weeks isn't great I get that, but it is compared to another 6 months.
Unfortunately I understand this doesn't make me braveheart, it means I don't have any empathy for other people who have to live with these lockdowns (even though I do) but I just want to be 100% sure that we don't ever end up in another lockdown.Â
