Hey, some of us voted for the guy who was 33% responsible for the 1st Peterborough goal and 90% for the 2nd Peterborough goal actually!

My favourite part of the tactics is getting the players to completely switch positions during the game to confuse the opposition!
I mean who’d expect us play Lawrence as a part time CDM?

Player of the season award last season, so maybe!

To be fair it’d take a pretty good manager to get this team to 10th of higher.
That said they should be able avoid relegation, it’d be tight but a reasonable expectation if the manager can get them playing to their maximum!

My favourite tactic is the one where Roos, stearman and Davies stand on the 6 yard line with Davies taking the goal kick to Roos who panics and clips it into the channels.
It was very reminiscent of how my 6 year olds team plays!

Sadly got to assume there’s no Kaz for this one. So I’d imagine Stretton gets the nod even if we’re able to bring someone in.
If Stretton is leading the line then we’ll have to do something very different tactically and Sibley will have to start as Stretton will need support. No more complicated, utterly nonsensical tactics.

Ramarena reacted to PoshMart in v Peterborough (A) Match Day Thread
Hi guys and girls, Posh fan here but not to gloat.
I haven’t read all this thread but got through a few posts so....
I was at the match and it was quite dull for 70 mins. I though Derby looked more accomplished in possession but it appeared that to me you’d come to stop us scoring and hit us on the break. We didn’t pose much threat as neither Marriott nor JCH are fit so, as mentioned our attacking play left something to be desired.
When you scored, I thought that was it, I couldn’t see us getting an equaliser....but bugger me, that last 11 minutes was fantastic from our point of view. I’ve seen mention on here of how good Harrison Burrows was and I’d echo those sentiments, he’s only 19 and came thorough our academy, he’s going to be some player.”
I’ve seen a few moans about the amount of injury time but there was a lengthy spell when Kasim Richards was injured (8 mins?) and then 3 mins for your player to leave the pitch (?) when he was subbed so seemed fair to me.
I think most Posh fans were pleased you held your position in the championship but mostly for selfish reasons, we don’t like Wycombe and we thought you might get a points deduction.....every little helps in our mission to stay up.
Good luck for the rest of the season, it’s sad to see a team with such a rich history in the dire straights you find yourselves, hope things get sorted soon and you can sign a few players to keep you competitive....but would be nice if you can stay below us.
....also have to say that my favourite match watching Posh was at the Baseball ground in the 92-93 season when we came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 when you were splashing the cash and favourites to go up.....happy days...

You're right. My observation at the time was that he had a good pass in him, but he needed space to play in. Suited Barnsley and Huddersfield who played mainly on the counter.
We had a lot of possession and were playing against two banks of four most of the time. Far less effective against breaking that down!
I recall his best game for us in the away win at Hull that took us top of the table. Hull battered us that night yet we won 2- 0 with goals by Butterfield. Playing on the counter attack in space.
Unfortunately being top wasn't good enough for Derby fans at the time. We wanted total football as well.
I felt the pressure on Butterfield, Johnson etc didn't help. They always had the fans on their backs and Butterfield just seemed to melt under the pressure. ? Bet he wished he'd never come here and probably not the only one.

That made me chuckle.
Roos just needs to put the long ball over the top then and Jack will do the rest.
Simples!

I think I would have been one of the ones saying he was a decent, if expensive replacement for the injured Hughes.
He actually started ok and had ability, but his career since that first season with us had been a downward spiral.

Just reading that thread made me sad. A mix of regret at opportunity missed but also some disappointment at the arrogance of sections of the fanbase at that time.
I am sure that the club is for sale for the cost of settling the debts, but that's still somewhere between £40 and £50 million, I believe, and that's why we have a problem.
Are there any genuine buyers out there who have that sort of money sloshing about? I think not.
Running a football club no longer makes money and with increasing imbalance between the select few clubs and the rest, football as we know it is gradually being strangled to death.
I don't know where DCFC goes from here. I certainly don't know where the game goes.

If Jozwiak is so rubbish, why did Poland play him at the EUROs ahead of players playing in Serie A, La Liga and the Bundesliga?

Drop all of the senior pros?
Radical, but maybe the left field solution we need.
Well, that and fielding 12.....?

Good comparison. Both intelligent & languid players also (which doesn't endear them to some of our fanbase)
Like you say, Shinnie is good when pressing high as a box to box midfielder in games where we don't see much of the ball. For that exact reason he was a crucial part of the home victories we picked up between November & January against top 6 sides but looked ineffective against bottom half teams. We do seem to be moving to a style now where we want to dominate the ball more so I'm struggling to see what Shinnie is currently bringing to the starting XI.
