And we can safely assume Chris Wood would have missed that penalty anyway. So reset the score to, er, 2-0. 

This is what annoys me when the argument is that ‘we should’ve had a penalty’. Perhaps you should’ve, but there’s no guarantee you would’ve scored it. Like Gibbo claiming that sneaking into 6th would have guaranteed promotion, and probably European football within a year.

These games look great on paper, but I don’t think either United or Spurs fans will actually want to win and thus handing the title to their rivals.

I know there needs to be some professionalism, but Spurs in particular may already have 5th place sewn up by then with Villa securing top 4.

Would they really want to hand Arsenal their first title in 20 years? Especially after losing to them today?

It is interesting that this looks like the only game where Man City could possibly, realistically drop points. So if arsenal want to win the title, they’re praying for a favour from spurs.

United are a none factor. They are crap. As I’ve said many times before. They can’t chose whether to win or lose to hand their rival the title. They’ll just lose. In their past three games they’ve been undefeated. But they’ve beaten a championship team on penalties, possibly the worst side the premier league has ever seen (certainly the worst defence) by two goals in the last 10 mins, and drawn with the second worst team in the league. That means Forest is about their level at the minute. And they’ll beat our record in the fa cup final. 

Well our season is over now, so the only thing I’ve got to look forward to is Forest vs Burnley. Cmon Burnley.

Or Luton. Maybe they could make that last game a dead rubber (probably not).

My son has a tendency to flip out at the slightest injustice. We have to remind him that he’s normally the one that gets in trouble because he’s flipped out. And he’s getting it, and learning to take a deep breath and walk away. This is an 8 year old. Marinakis might want a word with my son for some tips. But he needs to learn his lesson the hard way.

its like boro trying to sue us, like promotion was assured if they’d got to the play offs. Ultimately, anyone who watched the game could say they were the second best team. If they’d have won it through 3 penalties, it would’ve been an injustice of a different sort. Forest just need to concentrate on being less s***.

everyone always says in these circumstances that decision even themselves out. And in forests case they really do. It’s crazy that they think they have any platform in which to complain.

in the 90s I admired United. For a brief, ill informed time when I was about 9 I even had their posters on my wall and their kit. 

this is like having some actresses poster in your wall when your a teenager, only to find, in their 40s they’ve destroyed themselves with plastic surgery and drugs. Had 4 marriages with dodgy rockstars, 2 stints in rehab, and a short stint in jail.

Then I look at my wife and think ‘she’s perfect, she’s not a Hollywood star, but she’s worth a million of you.’ (I do actually think that about my wife, but in this analogy, my wife is Derby county).

I feel about 10% bad for the Hollywood actress. But mainly I feel 90% angry that she wasted everything she has and ruined herself. I feel very little charitable thoughts for United. They made their bed.

Oh my god. I’ve say it before and I’ll keep saying it til they stop being s***. But Man Utd are s***. Even if they do win. You couldn’t imagine fergies United letting a 3 goal lead slip.

thats the problem, they’ll always be compared to that era, and they’re about as close to that as the current Forest are to Clough’s. 

I’d love to see a Huddersfield response to that tweet. That would be top bants.

mind you, do you remember that season where Forest were safe in the play offs unless there was a 6 goal swing from Stoke or someone. That was a good day. Watching goal after goal after goal go in from Stoke. Let’s not give Forest fans a good day like that.

Oh no!! I’ve just considered the world’s most squeaky bum scenario. 

peterboro win their game in hand. Then Bolton and boro both win their next game and we lose to Cambridge  

then we’re all the same points going into the last game of the season. With them playing each other.

the twists and turns during 90 mins of that last day will be ridiculous. I’d still expect us to beat Carlisle, but still, there will probably be a moment before we take the lead when either boro or Bolton score, and we’ll be technically out of the autos for a moment. Can you imagine the gnashing of teeth in here during those moments!?

if they lose this one, they’ll go all out in the next game to secure promotion. No taking their eye off the ball. And it’ll be all over by the last day. I like a last day with something riding on it.

imagine what a weird bittersweet feeling of being promoted but not winning the league on the last day of the season, by virtue of two defeats, having led the league until that last day.
