That's been a case from almost every outlet that has had anything to say about this process from start to finish a couple of years ago. It also, at least in my mind, is one of the reasons that so many fans of other clubs carry the perception that we are guilty beyond all possible doubt.
Not one news agency has taken a step back, done any reasonable analysis and published something close to the actual situation, at least not from what I have seen.

In short, the EFL have no legal case to dock any points and will procrastinate on a decision for as long as possible to give them some sense of a victory.
If their 'review' of the accounts goes on until the new year, I would say we have a legal case ourselves against the EFL for preventing us from operating as a business.
Outrageous behaviour from this spiteful, callous, vindictive organisation.

You never quite know what's going to happen but looking at that team, it feels like he's thrown it to save players for the home game on Saturday.
Hope I'm wrong. Feel slightly peeved for the fans that have made the time, effort and expenditure to go this evening.
Like I say, hope I'm wrong. COYR.

Agree - don't understand why the club haven't used injunctive relief (or threat of) to compel the EFL to behave reasonably up to now.
We were asked to submit restated accounts 2nd July & I find it hard to believe we wouldn't have had a draft set of accounts ready to discuss with the EFL as soon as possible. Nearly 2.5 months have gone since then with another transfer window closed and there is still no decision on whether we are compliant of not & rumours abound of a 12 point penalty. Its that the best outcome 'negotiation' has got us after that length of time, I don't understand why we haven't broken off negotiations with the EFL & asked the case to be referred straight to the Disciplinary Commission for consideration as per regulations 84 & 89 in their own rulebook. Firstly, we're likely to get a quicker decision than this endless stalemate & secondly, the DC took a much more lenient view of the amortisation originally than the EFL did.
The lack of urgency from the club is puzzling though & seems inconsistent with an owner supposedly keen to sell up.

But surely the EFL do and they can look at those facts and apply the letter of the law regarding a punishment and apply it.
The thing is I don't think they can otherwise they would have done so. They are aware it could be challenged as it seems to be subjective and retrospective which explains why they're trying to 'negotiate' a punishment.
All a load of face saving testicles by the EFL to me. The longer it rumbles on and the legal fees mount, they'll be more disharmony by the remaining 23 teams as they are being billed for this.
I still think we should fight on regardless.

I would love that also and would be prepared to chip in for the very best legal representation possible.

All being well. 3 games lined up over Christmas if I can - the Baggies on Boxing Day, Stoke and Reading away.

What is all of this about accepting a reduction?
    Reduction from what?
First of all they need to charge us with something, then us be found guilty and then a points deduction applied as set out in the rule book.
Only at that time is there anything to be appealed, up until that point we are guilty of nothing and should be treated as such.

To the EFL themselves. I guess they set up a different panel to hear the appeal, and Wednesday were happy enough with the result to not challenge it further.
Without having an in depth knowledge of their case, it did seem pretty open and shut on the guilt, just the punishment was open to interpretation.
If we don't think we've broken any laws, or indeed stated rules, which seems to be the case, I'd lawyer up to the high heavens, encourage the auditors to do the same, and see them in court.

We got found out for doing something that wasn't against the rules. Don't you understand the difference between breaking the rules and doing something not covered by the rules?

Great thread this. With living overseas and not being able to get back home since the Christmas before Covid, I'd honestly pay very good money for a bag of fish, chips, peas and side of curry sauce right know! Having spoken with lots of exiled Brits, it's the one thing everyone misses. You're all right, pea mix, curry mix etc. is pretty much a colloquial Derby thing and is lost elsewhere. The joys of the English language.
Shelton Lock and George's in Alvaston are both pretty good and always get a visit when I'm back.
    Hopefully this Christmas.

I really don't understand why the club can't offer fans without a printer the opportunity to come to the ground a bit earlier and print there. I was on a plane the other day. At the airport they had a simple option of scanning your id in, finding your booking in the system and then being able to quickly print off your ticket. Doesn't need to be even this complex, a few laptops linked up to a few cheap printers would suffice.
I think some aren't bothering because they don't have printers but I think some might not be bothering because they feel like the club isn't bothered about them and appears to be unwilling to put simple solutions in place to help them. This I think has upset a lot of people and you can't blame them.
The club is a business and should be ran as such where the customer/fan is treated with kindness and respect. Sadly this is not the case right now.

Its the same principle as any other business surely, they make parting with your cash as easy as possible and let you feel as happy about it as they can.
Even basic shops.. don't have to provide baskets or have friendly staff willing to show you where things are or display prices clearly or have parking for you or clean the place or have a toilet...but it makes you more likely to shop there, so they do. Why give people a reason to go for another option? If you're buying a big item, a nice filtered coffee is a pittance compared to what you're buying but those touches are just basic sales techniques.
Recently DCFC seem to have the attitude of 'If you want to come, then you will'. Most fans just suck it up but fringe fans are drifting away already because of the myriad of other reasons, so I can't understand why we aren't going the opposite way and making buying tickets as easy, cheap and desirable as possible.

Brilliant. I didn't know that living overseas and assumed all the fuss was due to people not having printers. No excuses then. Should have been a sell out weeks ago!
