I'm not in receipt of any benefits but I'm happy to pay for them. The BBC and, as a slightly different example, Channel 4 and S4C make fantastic programmes that otherwise would remain inside someones head, not everything has to be driven by popularity and money, it's a fantastic thing that more obscure and niche programming still exists. The loss of local BBC stations would be such a sad thing.

Consider not paying the fee every year because I think I don't use it (as an under 35) then remind myself there's at least 4 hours every week dedicated to this stupid third division club plus TMS, World Cup/Euros, MoTD, FA Cup...
For 43p a day I think it's good value and I can tolerate Lineker being "woke" and "socialist" on Twitter or something whilst earning 10% of what Ant or Dec do. Especially when I remember they employed rabid right wingers like David Dimbleby, him what did Mastermind, and Andrew Neil for about 150 years combined, and I didn't mind them.
 

Its got nothing to do with providing local news. Radio, TV and newspapers have been very little to do with telling us what us happening, either locally or nationally for years. It has long been about propaganda, and why produce it from half a dozen different locations when it can all be done centrally, such as Westminster?

It's almost like having 90% of the print and broadcast media onside isn't enough.

Ultimately Warne knew in the grand scheme of things his budget at Rotherham was pitiful compared to the teams he was competing with at Championship level (and an owner that sold all his best players), he'd be mental to go up to that league and try and play passing football against teams with 5-15 times his budget and loans of the best youngsters from the Prem. We'll still see evidence of his style but he'll have more options to effect games.

Your post makes the assumption that Derby playing well and Bristol Rovers playing badly were mutually exclusive - have you ever considered that Rovers played badly as we were playing so well and putting them under pressure and pressing then at every opportunity?
Haven't we been punished for defensive howlers this season? Forgot about Ipswich away so quickly? This isn't La Liga you know it's League 1 where the majority of the goals come from defensive mistakes.
