Leicester Ram reacted to Hoppo in Derby v Lincoln City
My fave fact about Nelson's column is that the statue on top is 18 feet tall. Nelson was 6ft tall. That makes it Horatio of 3 to 1.
I'll get me coat

Say what you want about Hourihane at 32 years old but no one else at the club can do that when the ball drops to them at the edge of the box
Still has the best ability to pick a through ball out of anyone as well
Flawed player but has genuine moments of quality that win us points

Tell your missus to make your tea early and then tell her you're going to the game....................

Just noticed something, we have the same amount of goals scored (34) and goals conceded (16) as top of the league Portsmouth
We are nine points below them. That’s some classic Derby County stuff.
Playing the right notes just not necessarily in the right order…

I just don’t think you see the full picture. L1 isn’t vastly different from the Championship. A few weaker clubs yes, some lack of consistency certainly. Yet there are good footballers in this league, many of whom would prosper in the championship. Those few percentage points that move you from average to serious contender are very small. Add in that many of our signings that were “designed” for PW’s vision had injuries and left us both thin on the ground in numbers and having to adopt a compromised style. It hasn’t been an easy ride. There isn’t a huge cheque book, 25k every week a saying we are DCFC also doesn’t cut it when there are 11 strong men in the opposing half who are busting a gut to put one on us.
This is sport, we are in our roller coaster car with all its dints and scratches. I am just enjoying the competition and thank goodness we are at the very least a competitive group. My attitude would be different if we were below half way … but we aren’t . I seriously doubt there is a manager out there who would guarantee any team promotion with the obvious strictures they would be under given our current level of strength and stability. This isn’t happy clappy this is competition, reality, oh and support.

I think the players feel pretty together at the moment. From Smith last night:

This in spades. Many folk have such a fundamental misunderstanding of how to achieve success in football - it is all about thinking smart. Proper structure behind the scenes (so not dependant on one manager), an elite academy, hiring & firing in line with agreed values and style of preferred football & of course, savvy recruitment. Money helps but is not the dominant criteria & the idea we'd want a fan to sell us to a 'benevolent' billionaire who will of course have our best interests at heart, is naive in the extreme.
A club the size of Derby is perfectly capable of being a competitive side in the division above whilst operating sustainably - we will be top 5 in terms of crowd numbers & commercial revenue and only dwarfed income-wise by sides recently relegated from the Prem. From then on, it is a case of slowly building the squad for a Prem promotion push - buying cheap & selling expensive and developing own talent. This is not a short term fix though & I fear that is the crux of the OP's post.

Not for me thanks.
Find it much more appealing to have a local good guy trying to make us a sustainable club, over a billionaire treating us like their train set.

Leicester Ram reacted to Comrade 86 in Derby vs Leyton Orient
I think 'pro-Warne' is a misnomer. I think most who have remained supportive, did so because they felt another change in manager was setting the club up for another yet more time wasted on the merry-go-round and also that the team's form was not so awful that he warranted sacking anyway. I think very few have blindly followed Warne, but rather have simply stuck with him and it's nice to see some return for their patience, with the lads performing better and the forum less fighty. Steady improvement and some consistency obviously makes it a deal easier to retain faith than it has been for much of the first half of the season, but I'm not sure I've seen anyone doing victory laps, to be fair, which is to their credit after some of the nonsense we've seen levelled at them.

James Collins is such a baffling player
Works his socks off, battles, does all the canny tricks you expect of an experienced pro, harries defenders, makes them make mistakes like the Leyton Orient player just has and can finish
Will then miss a complete f****** sitter and make you wonder why he’s a professional footballer
Will then score a hatty in the No Pot To Piss In Trophy a week later and look like he’s Lewandowski
I’ve had enough, my brain is fried. Get John-Jules on to spare me.

I'm sure DC will be very grateful for your advice.
How have you calculated our likelihood of us staying in this league at 60%?
