TuffLuff got a reaction from sage in West Ham (H) FACR4 Mon 30th Jan
If I’m being critical, based on tonight I’m not sure ‘Warneball’ suits playing higher league opposition because you aren’t positionally disciplined enough. Not that I don’t like his ideas and how he sees football, I’m just not sure it works against a better opposition

Think Didzy was a big loss. We can't play off Collins in the same way and he's not the goal-threat that Didzy is either. At times we passed the ball well but West Ham sat pretty deep and didn't really make too many mistakes, nor did they over-commit and allow us to get in behind them. I think maybe we could have given Dobbin a start as he has the pace to hurt better defences, but other than that, I'm not sure there's too much we could have done differently.

Not sure you can judge anything based on tonight. I think our players approached it the same way the manager did, give it a go but the league is our focus.
It was flat. I never sensed we believed we would win, total contrast to the league. We didn't disgrace ourselves, just didn't do ourselves justice.

Yeah, took @Mucker1884's suggestion and slid into his DM's. Sorted.

Your ability to listen and change you mind has no place in the modern world comrade.

They aren’t forcing anyone to join.

Of players of age who could possibly come?
Byrne, Jagielka and Martin.
But seriously you lot should move on from ever thinking ex players could do a job for you because it never works.

Just got home, I'm hoarse, got sore knees from too much bouncing and ringing in my ears from the absolute bonkers noise in the away end.
It's nights like these that David Clowes has given us back when they were so nearly taken away from us.
As for arguing about budgets and squad values, tonight of all nights! There's only one thing you need to know - the togetherness of owner, squad, fans - it is priceless.

His role would be similar to McGoldrick’s, which isn’t exactly pegging it from side to side for no reason, so it’s an interesting link of nothing else. The other side to that is how likely will we get a full season from McGoldrick? For all this ‘players running around’ malarkey that people have seemed to pick up on, our current no.10 is probably our most important player and that’s not his game either. So there’s method in the madness, even if there’s “nothing” in the link.
Seem to remember a few times Martin getting written off on this forum, always came back and did well. Probably time to put a bit of respect on his name tbh, enough time is past and you can accept you were wrong.
The aim for us to beat the administration thread right?

Not sure he fits Warne’s style of play but does McGoldrick, our top goal scorer?
Might see why people want a different type of option but he’s got the technical skills to be excellent at this level, great target man to feet and can finish.
Is that not just what Didzy does? Except Martin’s a bit stronger, more of a target man.

I know everyone focuses on McClaren-era Martin, but that resurgence under Cocu was glorious too. That was a fun few months.
