I haven't read the latest in this thread as frankly I don't have the time or inclination. The whole process has been an absolute farce - a witch hunt against an owner; a wider agenda in an attempt to force change up the pyramid; and a corrupt system which bows to those who shout the loudest.
The biggest issue in those whole debacle is that there is an assumption that the LAP made the correct decision about our amortization policy's non-compliance with FRS102. My understanding is that even though the original DC (which included the relevant experts) found the policy to be in compliance (apart from poor disclosure), the LAP then decided to uphold the original particulars even though the LAP had no accounting expertise on it.
The second biggest issue is that EFL have used the club's financial plight to have it agree to the punishment. The EFL knew full well that we were unable to let the sanctions/appeals decision slip given the existing funding and limited cashflow and the inability to sell the club without that decision agreed upon. The EFL forced us to agree to the decision or face liquidation. To me, this is forcing a false confession and is completely unjust and unfair.
The third biggest issue is that we have been repeatedly punished for the same perceived mis-demeanor which I'm still yet to see full evidence that we're guilt of - non-compliance with FRS 102. Putting the compliance matter to one side, we've been punished through a strict transfer embargo, an inability to utilize a league wide loan and now a points deduction. The overall points deduction is also a repeated sanction for the same alleged crime given we would have changed our approach and our decisions if we were to know we couldn't use it. (To note, indirectly we've also been punished with administration as the whole EFL debacle forced buyers to pull out a potential acquisition that would have prevented this from happening).
Finally, the fourth biggest issue is that throughout this whole process, Derby's name has been dragged through the mud. Whether its from the EFLs shockingly worded statements, leaks to the national press, or miss/over simplified reporting by the press, Derby County is now a dirty word amongst many a fan - I do not care that we are not liked. I care that we are not liked because of false accusations and an agenda from our governing body which is meant to protect our club and the game we love.
As I've said before, I do not admonish MM of any responsibility. His financial mis-management of Derby is shocking and he should be condemned as one of, if not the, worst owners in our history and the fact he decided to walked away from the steaming pile of poo he created says a lot about the man.
The EFL, however, has done nothing but further punish and cripple the club and is as worthy of as much criticism as our esteemed previous owner. It is an unfit and unjust governance body that needs dismantling and building from the floor up again.

If he thinks its deserved and he's that disgusted he could let someone else take the seat-win/win.  I fear, however, you'll be listening to him taking about seagulls descending from an autumn sky into Plymouth Hoe, whilst the 4.25 Great Western 3rd class series train built in 2001 heads West towards Saltash.  Just before Plymouth score the third and he spontaneously combusts over a throw in that lead to it 5 minutes earlier.

Once upon a time not that long ago football was about the players who pulled on the great jersey of a fans beloved team
it was about  growing up watching your heroes on the pitch and trying to emulate them in your own football matches
    football is lost !!!
it’s about amortisation and ffp and players leaving for free with greedy agents pocketing money that never returns to the game and football clubs losing money to greed
For the last 18 months or so the headlines have not been about a great goal or a terrific signing it’s about finance and ffp and some things we never used to know anything about like amortisation blah blah blah !! because we just love the game and are fans this whole charade is both upsetting and has probably put us back years
sick to death with how the EFL have treated us and how a so called fan has dragged us through the mire and made us a laughing stock ...someone we trusted
     ....and I’ve had enough
    THE END

Predictions of 21 points in total have been going around for ages. I’d assumed that the reason for the delay was that DCFC was playing hardball and had a good case for reducing the FFP points deduction and/or were in a good position re: the appeal on the administration points deduction. As that obviously appears to have been complete pie in the sky, does anybody know why it’s taken so long to basically confirm what was originally suggested (if this has been answered already, sorry / not gone through the whole thread and have actually had to do some work today so not able to be online much!).
Its the hope that kills you, I suppose.
Still, win 10 on the trot and we can still get out of this (what did I just say a little hope?)

It’s not so much that Ed Dawes is wrong. We ‘broke the rules’ so no matter how stupid the rules, how corrupt the system (see QPR, Villa, parachute payments in general) or how unfit an organisation the EFL is, we did deserve to be punished under the current regime.
What irks is the smug, self satisfied, arrogant and sneering tone that exudes from every utterance the man makes (even in a simple tweet). He reminds me of a certain gentleman on here who at least used to reside in Mexico.

    I really don’t .
I have always said FFP is ridiculous and maintain that. .
We are in this mess because off FFP and Mel getting totally blitzed by the EFL with no way out .
Mel couldn’t sell the club and then we had Covid and no revenue
It has been vindictive against him IMO .
Other clubs have piled in also.
The most significant thing for me is that the first hearing went in our favour.
Its all done now but going forward my love for football has somewhat gone .
I know this is a view that lots of Derby Fans won’t agree with but going forward I see nothing but more heartache ahead with player sales etc

I know it's all Mel and Pearce's fault, but the EFL say they are helping\helped already. Is there any evidence of this, can anyone list anything they have done to help our club ? I mean at the end of the day, it's us fans that get punished, Mel moves on, players\manager moves on, but we remain to pick up the pieces.

There must be some empathy from other clubs with the situation Derby are in, the history of our club and how helpless we are with our situation. If there were five or six loans of top players they could help the club, those not getting a first-team chance, some players that fancy making history, then why not? Wayne has such respect in the game, maybe he could beg PL teams to loan players to us, with the likelihood we need to win every game next year to stay up. What about Newcastle letting us borrow Dwight Gayle, West Ham's Andriy Yarmolenko, Leicester's Marc Albrighton, United's Juan Mata and Matic etc. assemble a team that could win every game and the eyes of the football world would be on them.

What still amazes is after all this time is that the only thing we have been found guilty of is not putting proper notes in the accounts when we changed them which were approved by an accoutancy company, by the efl & more accountants - which we got a 100k fine for

Am I allowed to believe both that Mel Morris is ultimately to blame for taking us into administration, that he presumably signed off on our approach to finances and accounting which got us into trouble and if he hadn’t spent big sums of cash at the behest of his managers (ie not supported them) then we wouldn’t be in the mess we are in… AND… that the EFL have acted dishonesty, acted retrospectively against all normal rules of natural justice, have sought to block or stymie every single attempt for us to get out of the mess and place additional barriers in our way, have maliciously not used any discretion in how they have interpreted the rules or punishment and are one gigantic pile of excrement?
I mean, there’s plenty of blame to go around, I don’t think we need to be polarised about it or ‘take sides’.

Given that we (think) we know that the EFL signed off our accounts for years before identifying the issue and, effectively, retrospectively punishing us (and the consequences of this resubmitting accounts that have put us in the ?), I’m amazed we/the administrators haven’t sought to take the EFL to court ourselves.  I just cannot see how the EFL’s position has been on any way in the interests of natural justice. This is particularly the case, when you think about the ridiculous cases Boro and Wycombe are trying on.
I’m like a dog with a bone on this, but I also still fail to see why the EFL are so intent on destroying the club. There must have been ways out for them which would have seen them able to punish us and still save safe with the other clubs (eg leaving it at the 100,000 fine, not requiring updated accounts and just being told not to do it again… or something… there must have been scope for leniency and discretion, especially with things like COVID.). Just a massive group of jobsworths.
Yes, Mel needs to take the lion’s share of the blame for all this as he is ultimately responsible, but the EFL have been deplorable in my humble opinion.
Oh well. Futile rage it is then!
