Why next season @David?.......the club have got on the case this season and are now selling t-shirts in the club shop.
I'll wait to wade in when they get white and black, purple and blue vinyl in the megastore of the whole club and fans singing it after we stay up!........another great idea for the megastore, c'mon @Owen87ITK get everyone at the club singing it and watch them record, cassette, CD, download sales go through the roof!
............we might need a few more lyrics or some funky beats, to jazz the song up a bit, but @superdavemight want to get Joey Greener involved and we have @leamram on here who knows how to write or sparkle up a tune.
We might have to reintroduce Top of The Pops, Swap Shop, The Tube, The Old Grey Whistle Test, The Chart Show, SnubTV and all the rest to show us all in the Pop Video...........but once it's on RamsTV............this time next year, we"ll all be millionaires!
.........and when we go on tour, I know where we can get some roadies!

Exactly, this is incredibly annoying. It's just how administration works - creditors including HMRC get what the new buyer will pay (if accepted), rather than the full amount. This has been known for a very long time. That's why the EFL punishes clubs that go into administration with a points penalty. We were given that penalty. We accepted that penalty.
If the EFL or member clubs have decided that penalty should be stiffer, change it. But that doesn't affect Derby - you can't apply any rule change retrospectively.
If there's a problem with clubs having to take out loans to pay HMRC because of Covid, that's a separate issue. (By all means, put yourselves into administration too, if you think it's such a brilliant tax dodge.)

There are weeks when we might lose ground on reading before we gain ground. If that’s not the case, then what’s the point in all these stats, we could safely say we’ll be ahead of them inside 2 games. Reading won’t go all season without winning another game, and we won’t go all season without losing another game.
This weekend could have easily been a weekend when we lost ground. So the fact that we didn’t is a bonus.

hey PdP, despite your somewhat negative salutation this made me very happy because I think we're in  agreement ! Can we settle on this:?
    - the rules give rise to a contract to which all clubs are party (we and Boro agreed this in 2020, it's clearly the accepted view)
    - so if a club breaches the rules, then 'in principle' (as you put it), other clubs that suffer loss can sue for damages for breach of contract
    - but the rules about recovering damages are involved, eg, parties can only recover damages if damages were foreseeable, and if the duty to mitigate is discharged)
    - and in the case of a complex multilateral contract there are quite possibly issues of construction and implied terms that limit the ability to claim at all (eg, as I-ram suggested with his characteristic perspicacity: "if you've already been put to the sword by the EFL disputes process, how would it make sense also for other clubs to have a right also to sue for damages?).
The defence I would love de Marco to have advanced is" MFC didn't discharge their duty to mitigate because they just kept losing football matches

I can see why people say they wouldnt want to go after another club & put their fans through what we have gone through...but it would be different as Reading arent in administration? We wouldnt be holding up any potential sale of the club pushing them towards liquidation.
If the claim had no affect on them like that then their fans wouldnt feel the way we have & do.
If Boro & Wycombe's claims were whilst we had new owners & didnt create any embargoes against us I dont think us fans would be as mentally drained by it all as we have been.

Interesting article. I see your point regarding Stephenson Harwood in the first para, but really there is no need to be too harsh on Nixon. He is writing for Sun readers after all.
I must be in a club of one in thinking that we do go after both the EFL and Reading if there is anything in the legal guidance that the EFL were given by Stephenson Harwood, that has been not used equitably in the EFL v Reading decision (compared to the EFL v Derby decision). Well I say club of one, I bet Mike Ashley is with me.
The most important thing is that the EFL apply their rules fairly for the benefit of all their members. That is what they keep telling us. If they haven’t why not bring them to account, dragging in Reading too. We would be helping all the other 68 league clubs after all, who have been totally silent whilst Boro and Wycombe pick at our bones.

Has anyone mentioned that the accord might have been something along the lines of…
Mel “look steve, I understand your frustrations with the way I ran Derby County. I was trying to find loop holes and get round the regulations of the EFL who you know as well as I do are incompetent to the highest level. We’re both supporters of our club and both savvy business men. You’d probably have done the same right? Why not lay off the club, I’ve gone, it wants to move forward.”
Gibson “All fair points Mel, and yes, I am a savvy business man, thanks for noticing! But my issue is I have to find fault somewhere for my teams inability to get promoted with all of those parachute payments! I’ve already blamed Karanka, Pulis and Warnock, I can’t blame myself!
Mel “Well Steve, I’m not incompetent and your not incompetent. Who is incompetent?”
    Steve “…..”
Mel “The EFL Steve, the answer is the EFL”
Steve “oooooooooh! Riiiiiiiiiight…. Not sure I follow Mel”
Mel “We go after the EFL together Steve, me and you! Whata ya say buddy??”
    Steve “your my hero Mel!”
Mel “I know Steve, I know. Why don’t we do something about that Barnet, you can look just like me!”
    *sound of sheep clippers*
