I think our fanbases vision on how we like to see our football still comes from (a little loosely) Brian Clough and the legacy he left and ultimately we still hold those values no matter what league we are in
Keep it on the floor, Not cheating, Winners mentality, buying into hid footballing philosophy etc etc
Crazy how his legacy still leaves a mark on the club and the supporters because we have seen how it "could be" why would we want anything else
I think Brian was definitely in the camp of "work smarter, not harder" and maybe that's why we as derby fans have not taken to Warne very well
Probably more reminiscent of a dirty Leeds Don Revie team, is more the model of Paul's ideal team, big brute kicking people off the ball and grinding out wins

This is why I suspect he doesn't really 'enjoy' being Derby manager. More pressure, more expectations, less patience. Comes with the territory of managing a good sized club. His whole personality and setup just seems geared towards a club punching above it's weight, not a club expecting more than it currently has.

The ball control and passing are woeful at times. Do they just do set pieces in training?
And throw ins? Lost count of the times we threw to an unopposed Charlton player. Ludicrous.
I’m telling you, Sonny Bradley messes that team up. Take him out, let Cashin and Nelson do what they did so well. Play two proper full backs and have six players ahead of them who can create goals. It’s not rocket science.

We started the match playing cute little balls and short quick passing which suited playing into gayle touch and move style which I haven't seen since the game vs Northampton which is probably some of the best football we've played
Then second half we just resorted to lumping it up the pitch
Not taking men on in wide areas
    Long throwings (which i hate)
like we completely deviated from the game plan we started with but I've noticed if NML doesn't have a good game then we don't win
and why is Sonny Bradley our main goal theat now in the last 10 minutes of a game, we have to drop him in my opinion too much in balance and cashin is twice the centre back he is and he covers for him a lot due to bradleys lack of pace or maybe alertness... at 6ft5 he should be
    A) Bullying strikers off the ball
    B) scoring more headers from corners
no point moaning about sacking Warne but we need to discuss... how do we cope without Collins?

The only way it’s gonna change now is if those who feel so strongly opposed to Warne stage some sort of protest, but they won’t, so there has to be an element of accepting that he’s the manager.
By all means we can discuss his performance but for anyone thinking he’s going anywhere in the short term I suspect you’ll be disappointed.

    My preferred starting lineup
                         Wildsmith
    Nyambe    Nelson     Cashin       Elder
                             Adams
                Smith                   Bird

    Wilson                                          NML
                             Gayle
    - Start Gayle
    - Bring Barks on at 60 mins for Wilson cause in my opinion he plays better when he's a sub
    - Hourihane looks injured still not lasting 60 mins currently so start Smith to add that experience our captain leaves, also allows bird to roam a little further forward hopefully playing some through balls for gayle as I think that's what he works best off
Potentially bring CBT off the bench also if he's up to it, we've got to go for it from the off this time feel like we wait for a second half winner cause we don't know how to keep hold of a lead sometimes

I think all supporters would like to see us promoted and build the club back to being successful.

We are achieving results and we are currently rebuilding. A lot of work has been achieved so far and a lot of work will be required to carry on rebuilding.

As supporters we have a massive part to play in the success of the club. Paul Warne talks about the importance of unity, that is all of us together, making Pride Park, a place that opposing teams, don’t enjoy playing at, from all the positive support we provide to our club. Callum Elder talks about us galvanising, the characters we have at the club. Ebou Adams is showing his passion and fight on the pitch.

I watch how HKR are rebuilding in Rugby League successfully with the same unity, the importance of passionate fans supporting their team, I watch how players celebrate together when they have had a part to play in the opposition making mistakes on and off the pitch from the pressure created by everyone together.

I read on here on this forum about us supporters being more B4, being more positive and wishing and believing in the current players, current coaches, current chairman, current staff at the football club, but then some of us opting to try and look for faults, pick holes, be bored, turn on players, turn on coaches, predict future failures, when the opportunity of trying to be part of all the positive aspects of the current day, the now, the rebuilding, is with us all to grasp.

We marched and we were all together in the hope to save our club, it’s more important now, to stay together and work together to rebuild the football club, Derby County the football club, we all love.

Our most successful coaches are watching us all at UNITY PLAZA and they are part of the unity, the belief, the passion, the pride we all have, in achieving the success we all desire.

TheRamOfSwad reacted to Ellafella in Exeter City V Derby County: player ratings
1Wildsmith: 6.5 Apart from regulation catches, had Jack. A couple of kicks straight to touch.
2Wilson: 7 Defended well all game after his faux pas last Saturday. Good outlet first half with the odd quixotic run.
35Nelson: 8 Battle of Trafalgar stuff from the Admiral - except he didn't die 😀
6Cashin: 7.5 One close call 1st half when he mis-judged the greasy pitch bounce but another fine all-action, high-energy display.
23Ward: 6 Very late legs to see it out.
20Elder: 7.5 Probably his best yet. Intelligent straight defending against a tricky-dicky but never took his eye off the prize.
8Bird 🐦: 8 Lovely solo goal; plenty of industry. MoTM.
32Adams: 7.5 None shall pass. Almost got MoTM for me. That block!
17Sibley: 7.0 Very effective tackling and wasp-like chasing of the opposition when it was backs to the wall.
4Hourihane: 6.0 Kept the ball moving but notably flagged mid-second half.
12Smith: 6 Late legs and spoiled their momentum with periodic steals.
11Méndez-Laing: 7.5 Great goal, and an assist. Then dampened the burners to conserve himself for Saturday. Blazed over when clean through.
5Bradley 6.5: Mid-second half trooper stuff to block & clear. Seems more assured.
    9Collins: 7.0 Gargantuan energy and self-less work.
27Blackett-Taylor: 5.0 Hasn't settled yet. Going through a bit of a lull. Waiting for when his engine finally goes full throttle which will come.
7Barkhuizen: 7.0 Will o' the wisp rapidity over 5 yards and his favourite cut in and bend into into bottom right. Which was nice.

We seem to save our best for the away games. It would be churlish to downplay a 0-3 away to make a point about our home form so I won't. Well done Derby County.

Just seen Boltons next 7 league games include 5 away fixtures. Travelling over 1,100 miles.

Also that from now until after they play us on the 16th of March they’ve to play every Tuesday to catch up on missed games.

They’ve already picked up injuries to their best Defender and best striker Santos and Charles. Could see them getting a bit of a burn out with them fixtures.
Big few weeks to try build a gap over them.

Little material change at the very top, save for our further improved GD. In any case, it was nice to see us score some goals tonight and while the way we set up did not quite yield the fireworks I was hoping for, I thought we were clinical and for the most part, quite controlled.
What does seem significant, with the top 3 all winning, is that the gap to those below is slowly growing and perhaps we're seeing the league pared down to just 3 real autos candidates. Folk will continue to pour scorn, but I still reckon we can do this though the next 3 games will IMO prove critical.
