Are you sure. How can you be !
Nothing in life is certain but there's 2 options when things don't go right and how you react is what makes the difference 🐏

We will get automatics! and we will get promoted!!
We have it in us to pull these remaining results off but we need to get behind the team 🐏
Not being hysterical at every miss kick and bad result!
Not using ridiculous and visceral vocabulary such as "Bottlers" and start praising the players you don't build player confidence and motivation by talking down about them, they are humans too! They read social media and stuff online. Maybe even this forum? think about that
I've cant believe how reactionary this fanbase has become! I get the performances haven't been total football but we aren't there yet! we are a work in progress, you know?
We will deal with next season when we get there but for now, 3 games to go let's get out there and support and clap the lads on and off the pitch, comment on the socials with words of motivation and togethernes ❤ that's what's gonna bring us over the line.... plus I'm sick of looking at heaps of negativity on here 🤣
We are 2nd , remember. Start of the season we'd have paid money to be here 🙌🏻
and vibes are real, they'll feed of us it's all frequencies and vibrations ✌
Come on Derby, time for promotion 💪 🐏 ⚽️

I think if we were handed our league position at the start of the season 9/10 would have grabbed the opportunity. I certainly didn't expect to steamroll teams playing amazing football
Guess it's the old you take it as it comes but yeah maybe Paul has a sell by date and that's fine. in fact it's how football works now. I think whats probably more limiting is the amount of financial backing the club has going forward to be able to compete with the parachute payment clubs long term etc
unfortunately finances dictate a lot nowadays but of course I want attractive football too as well as results, what Derby fan wouldn't
I just try to be positive going in as I think It's what it's all about, going to the match with my dad, enjoying the day being optimistic in our score lines and whacking a tenner on a result that never comes off 😂

How many people, if any, on this forum have said they don’t want promotion?
I suspect the majority would love to see us playing entertaining football AND getting promoted but are prepared to go without the former this season provided we go up. At this stage in the season, I for one am prepared to accept us winning ugly. If we park the bus at Pompey and hold on for a point, that’s OK. If we scrape a win in all of three remaining home games, I can live with that now we’re at the sharp end of the season (although I’d obviously rather we won handsomely and avoided a nerve wrecking final few minutes).
BUT, what surely concerns most of us is the type of football we’re likely to see next season if we go up and if we’ll struggle to survive or not. Despite PW’s record at Championship level, I for one am prepared to defer any opinion until we see what he delivers for us.
Probably going to be about 10 players leaving, it's gonna be a different squad
Look at the difference Adams and Nyambe have made being younger and more athletic players. I think a few more signings like that would suit Paul's style more but I think securing a mid table finish next season would be perfectly acceptable
But we shouldn't worry or look too far ahead as it robs you off enjoying the moment just need to moan less and get behind the lads is all I'm saying and I have seen comments like they aren't enjoying it like we are 2nd to be honest I'm enjoying being up the top end of a table regardless of some bad performances
Paul Warne wins 3-0 and the match thread is about 20-30 pages less than if he loses, that's telling to me that people love to f****** moan 😂😝

I'd rather get promoted with s*** football, don't know why we'd wanna stay playing the likes of Fleetwood again next season when we could go up no matter the playing style.
Aint got the luxury to be picky and choosy that's for when you're already winning in the Premier league and have a significant budget to buy a squad
Get out of this league = more money, better fixtures, bigger attraction to be able to sign better players. Plus some achievement to celebrate
If Paul doesn't work next season then we can part ways, but give him a handshake and thank him for getting us up and move on it's not a big deal
Don't know why some people don't actually want promotion, it's weird but perhaps they enjoy the suffering somewhat and " oh I knew it would happen"

If we had 1 or Collins or Gayle fully fit I think we’d just have enough but honestly think posh will win 7 out of 8 games
I don't think Peterborough have won 7 games in a row all season so they'd do well to do that
Remember the rest of the top6 bar Portsmouth have f***** up quite a lot so I actually think 3 wins and 2 draws will just about do it (also got our superior goal difference)
So 11 points (89)
-
watching the highlights there were a few chances, some missed and some cleared off the line
on another day we play badly a score a couple of those and win 2-1, we'd all be saying we don't care how we win long as we get the points at this stage
Also the other top 6 teams have a tendency to f*** up just as much as we do

My non statistical guesswork on final league positions is...
1. Portsmouth
2. Derby
---------------------
3. Peterborough
4. Bolton
5. Barnsley
6. Lincoln
----------------
etc etc etc
-
We need those dives and dirty tackles going forward it's the difference between teams when it comes down to it, previously we were too lightweight and kind to opposition. players like Adams and Gayle have that winners by any means necessary mentality
-
Bolton will be on a high on Saturday, may just be the defining moment of the season
-
PENNO! you motherf**kers
-
we've got a real chance of getting a couple of goals 2nd half, cmon you Rams!!! let's take our fate into our own hands then dismantle Bolton on Saturday 🐏 ⚽️

So we're plonking Bradley in their penalty area and hoping the ref doesn't notice we've got 12 players on the pitch?
We have 11.5 by playing Thompson

He's the man on the moment, don't question his methods!

This is why I suspect he doesn't really 'enjoy' being Derby manager. More pressure, more expectations, less patience. Comes with the territory of managing a good sized club. His whole personality and setup just seems geared towards a club punching above it's weight, not a club expecting more than it currently has.
I think our fanbases vision on how we like to see our football still comes from (a little loosely) Brian Clough and the legacy he left and ultimately we still hold those values no matter what league we are in
Keep it on the floor, Not cheating, Winners mentality, buying into hid footballing philosophy etc etc
Crazy how his legacy still leaves a mark on the club and the supporters because we have seen how it "could be" why would we want anything else
I think Brian was definitely in the camp of "work smarter, not harder" and maybe that's why we as derby fans have not taken to Warne very well
Probably more reminiscent of a dirty Leeds Don Revie team, is more the model of Paul's ideal team, big brute kicking people off the ball and grinding out wins

I heard some bloke last night call Warne "condescending and obnoxious". I'm not sure if it was a criticism or a compliment though.
I do like him but I do get the impression he hates doing the pre and post match interviews and has started to resent them, which Is probably why he uses humour to make them interesting. I don't think he likes giving away what he might approaching the game etc and I think he doesn't like the fans perhaps thinking they know better and you can kinda tell cause when they boo he doesn't appreciate that either

I reckon the main man/ goal threat will start up top
Dropped Wildsmith for 'something different really', Wildsmith hasn't been running hard enough
5 at the back! by pass the midfield so fast the opposition will be found sleeping, Pinball passing pinging it with toe pokes, knock downs, and get it to NML who will run 30 yards to knock it in!
Thompson
Wilson Smith Nelson Cashin Sibley
Adams
Hourihane Bird
NML Waghorn
Bradley

We started the match playing cute little balls and short quick passing which suited playing into gayle touch and move style which I haven't seen since the game vs Northampton which is probably some of the best football we've played
Then second half we just resorted to lumping it up the pitch
Not taking men on in wide areas
Long throwings (which i hate)
like we completely deviated from the game plan we started with but I've noticed if NML doesn't have a good game then we don't win
and why is Sonny Bradley our main goal theat now in the last 10 minutes of a game, we have to drop him in my opinion too much in balance and cashin is twice the centre back he is and he covers for him a lot due to bradleys lack of pace or maybe alertness... at 6ft5 he should be
A) Bullying strikers off the ball
B) scoring more headers from corners
no point moaning about sacking Warne but we need to discuss... how do we cope without Collins?
-
This is a 4 at the back by the looks of it, must be Warnes way of accommodating Bradley at Center back is to play Cashin left back with his drive and passing abilities as well as being left footed
I imagine NML will go left wing and Wilson right wing
Could work... could be terrible 😂
I try to guess the lineups every week and I don't have a clue how he manages to surprise me everytime 😆
-
My preferred starting lineup
Wildsmith
Nyambe Nelson Cashin Elder
Adams
Smith Bird
Wilson NML
Gayle
- Start Gayle
- Bring Barks on at 60 mins for Wilson cause in my opinion he plays better when he's a sub
- Hourihane looks injured still not lasting 60 mins currently so start Smith to add that experience our captain leaves, also allows bird to roam a little further forward hopefully playing some through balls for gayle as I think that's what he works best off
Potentially bring CBT off the bench also if he's up to it, we've got to go for it from the off this time feel like we wait for a second half winner cause we don't know how to keep hold of a lead sometimes

I would personally
Keep:
Wildsmith, Sibley, Forsyth, Thompson, Collins (and buy Adams)
Let Go
Barkhuizen, Gayle, Washington, Fornah, Waghorn, Hourihane, Smith, Elder
So the core of the team would look like
Wildsmith
Nyambe Nelson Cashin Sibley
Adams
New New
NML CBT/New
New
In summary I'd look to buy players to play 3 at the back or 4 at the back depending on opposition and injuries it's shown to be important to be able to win matches in different ways
To sign:
Left back
1 extra centre back (for 3 at the back)
2 box to box midfielders
1 creative midfielder
1 winger
2 strikers
