WarneOut reacted to RoyMac5 in Is Warne living on borrowed time?
Oh please, the Sky Sports News clip of their first goal showed more of the build up to the goal, defenders were all over the place - at the time I said I'd never seen defending like it! We've got a full defence, but still they can't do what Warne wants, can he not get that?

Well, I've had enough. The results have been beyond awful, Warne-ball is awful to watch. The players either look like they've got no idea what they're supposed to be doing, or they just can't be bothered to do it. Defending has been comical, the Blackpool goals being perfect examples. What are the players and coaches doing in training, standing around watching TikTok on their phones?
Warne is not good enough. I don't care how long he's got left on his contract, get rid before he drags us down to League 2.

Good side that Exeter. Fair point at home.
Which one of this is you? I thought you were all aboard HMS Piss the League (One) ?

WarneOut got a reaction from jono in Matchday Thread - Derby County v Oxford United (30/07 15:00)
Oxford look like they have a bit of pace about them. We're going to need to keep possession of the ball and not give them opportunity to run at us. I'm worried that we just don't match up well.
I'm going for a 7-0 Rams win.

As bad as your situation may seem, it would be 100 times worse under this utter chancing muppet.
And yes, I told you so. Those of you who defended him and said I was full of it, hold your hands up now..

Agreed. Definitely need to get some pace in. I'm worried at the moment that some sides, despite being lesser skilled, will simply run past us.

Eh? That exchange was 7 hours ago, and it ended there. It's you that's brought it up again!

I thought exactly the same about companies like Woolworths and Pan Am, they were BIG companies, we were only saved by one mans passion for his\our football club. People normally buy football clubs as vanity projects but I think that might be coming to an end as the ongoing funds needed to sustain a club are so large, the only people who make real money out of football clubs are the agents and players.
I do think that, in the not too far distant future, we will see professional clubs fail and disappear, I have no real answer to the problem but the last year has certainly focused my mind as to how precious our club is to many of us and what it would be like to be without it.
Perhaps there has been an upside to the events of the last year and we have learnt that the long term survival of the club is more important to us than Premiership, Champions league.

It will be interesting to see whether Liam can do this. We didn’t respond well ‘in game’ last season and Liam spent plenty of time in Rooney’s ear...

No offence to anyone in this thread, but IMO if you are advocating for a certain formation, there are good reasons and bad reasons for doing it.
These are good reasons:
"We should play 433 because, with a sitting midfielder behind him, Max Bird has more license to get forward and play passes in the final third."
"We should play 4231 because 2 holding midfielders gives Sibley freedom to play as a genuine attacking midfielder without us getting overrun in there."
These are bad reasons:
"We should play 343 because we have lots of centre halves."
"We should play 442 because I want to fit my 2 favourite players in the team at the same time."
If you can't really say what specific advantages on the pitch a certain formation is giving you, then you are playing fantasy football, not real football. Just my opinion, feel free to tell me to sod off etc etc.

"Spending power" in Leagues 1 & 2, ours specifically, is related more to the size of the club's fanbase and the facilities at PP - revenue from attendances, merchandise, commercial activities, sponsorship, conferences etc gives us higher income than the majority and means that we automatically can offer larger salaries (even under our Business Plan) and may seem more attractive to players. In the PL and Championship, it relates more to TV money and parachute payments, and the commercial benefits that come with international exposure than gate money etc. That's where the divide is growing, and will continue to grow, because the people pushing the agenda put no value whatsoever on either fairness or tradition.

I think it was Mel Morris.
He nearly succeeded too, we were pretty close to having zero spectators in the ground under his masterplan.
Having a ground at all wasn't a given, mind.
