Let's face it, the online, so-called "news" outlets are, IMO, simply putting stories out on a daily or more frequent basis to get clicks to generate advertising revenue. Warne made a list of targets. The list including 2nd/3rd choices as well. That list went to the recruitment team and they are working on it. I very much doubt that the DT, FLW, realefl, the72 and others have seen who is, or isn't, on the list so everything they publish is mere speculation. I don't open their articles and therefore don't help their revenue stream.

1) I can assure you David Clowes will not be putting any money into the club. His philosophy is that the club is self financing.
2) He does have a plan. Based on what happens season on season, there are plans for L1 and SBC. Following promotion there will be a PL plan as well, although I suspect the basis of it is already in his head if not on paper.
3) Luton seem to have proved that all things are possible. From non-League to the PL in 9 years with a ground that has a 10K capacity.
The expectation is there. Looking at what we achieved last season from DC's takeover on July 1st it's hardly surprising that fans are expecting promotion. Most, maybe all, of the bookies have DCFC as title favourites at between 5/1 and 6/1. Achieving it is another matter altogether. Imagine that PW is able to get the 12 or so new signings he wants. There's no guarantee they will gel quickly or even at all. That's why the game is so attractive, intoxicating. You never ever know for certain. Look at Chelsea this past season...

The plan also had total spending limits, wage caps etc. We underspent on that, so that's more cash in the DCFC bank. Financially the club is currently sound. This season sees us have a little more freedom than last. We may pay modest transfer/loan fees. The wage cap has, I believe been increased. However, there is a revised business plan to which the EFL has agreed. That includes the budget limits for this coming season. We will, again, keep within those limits.
In the post to which you referred I had mentioned his reported "worth" of £250M. That will have included Clowes Development, which he owns.

To me, it's simple. PW has said he only wants players who want to be here. KB wants to stay in the Poland squad and can't if he comes back to us. He wants to be somewhere high enough up the pyramid so he stays in the Polish squad. He's leaving. We might get a small transfer/loan fee or we might just have to cancel his contract and get his £20K a week wages off the books.
Making him come back would be of use to noone.

If you count RamsTV interviews with David Clowes as reliable, then, yes. Plus something he said to me in the Directors Lounge (actually, we were in the doorway) at Forest Green. Buying DCFC and PP cost him £50M. Most of what he had left will be in non-liquid assets rather than ready cash. He also said, when there was talk of him buying that his Dad had told him NOT to buy the club. DC is a canny man and won't be imposing further on his "worth" than he already has done.

Knight is one of a few players we have that suffered from playing multiple roles. He had weeks off with an injury, He played Right Back, DM, wide right, wide left and the 10 role. Sibs played LB DM, AM, 10, wide left and wide right. Smith idem ditto. then you have Barks and NML brought in to play as wingers playing wing back. Not a role either of them wants, never mind likes.
Horses for courses. Round pegs in round holes. That's the way to do it 😉

Promotion is the aim. I will expect nothing until I've seen who the 10 to 12 new players are, how quickly they gel (or not) and how things go in the opening 12 games. Only then will we know where we stand. The rest is simply wishful thinking.
Of course we should do better than 7th. Huddersfield expected to do well having lost out to the Red Dogs at Wembley... they nearly joined us here in L1.

Hope you're right Tom lad but all we can go on is how things currently are. With that in mind I still think we'd have been better off with Barnsley getting promoted due to Wendy's aging squad.

No arguments from me on this post. Previous ones from several sources, have merely mentioned full backs without adding the qualifier of "capable of operating as a wing back". It's a difficult role as they are expected to have the defensive capabilities of a full back, the skill/nouse of a wing half as well as the attacking qualities a winger needs. They also need the will to play 3 roles in 1. IMO, NML lacks the defensive part somewhat plus he doesn't like the role. Same applies to Barks.
One might say we should have applied more thought and come up with your full meaning but that would would be us making assumptions on what you mean. Not something I would do. The clarification makes all clear.

I cringed when I read "Stoke" and "Fozzy's Testimonial" in the same sentence. My memory immediately flashed back to, IIRC, 2008 and a pre season game at Pride Park. A two footed lunge, both off the ball and off the pitch, by Carl Dickinson basically ruined Giles Barnes' career. He was nowhere near the same player after that. He was offered, again IIRC, £5M to take injury induced retirement with the club also receiving an amount from the insurers. Giles wanted to try and resurrect his career. Fair play to him for wanting to try. That he never reached his previous level and got nowhere near his potential has me wondering if he ever regrets not taking the money?
I sincerely hope today's Stoke players are rather more charitable than Dickinson was although I have a suspicion Giles had wound him up as he was wont to do to opponents.

RamsTV bought and paid for at £200 a season for we expats. That means I'll get to see all of the games. Certainly be over for between 6 and 8 games as well. 

We're planning hospitality at a Pride Park game sometime this season. The rest of my visits, I'll be in the East Stand, hopefully in block F.
Pre match Neppy and then the Brunny. Post match is anybody's guess 😉
