At the moment there are around 6,300 seats available to buy as season tickets, which will also be same seats going on general sale in the couple of weeks.

There is also some that are held back until the rest are nearly all sold, which could be several hundred.

We have been told that season tickets sales have already passed 20,000.

I don’t know what the maximum amount of season tickets we can sell is, but in the past we have sold 23,000+ and possibly more.

How many are left now? If you click on East Stand block G, for example, it says there are 11, but, when you go to select, there are none.

There really aren't that many seats left on three sides of the ground.

Come on now dear, chin up 🤣

Lets be honest Southend doesn’t need a football club, or probably deserve one.  It’s got a pier and loads of amusement parks, and a bit of sand. If I ever went there, I would plump for two hours of that that rather than visit Roots Hall, as just the better of two evils.

Southend have hardly got any fans either. They all support West Ham, and the ones that don’t follow them are orange and just want to to get on reality TV.  Don’t lose any sleep. If the worst come to the worst they can always watch Gemma Collins or Jamie Oliver on their 75” tv screens.

I went there last game of the season once and it was a great day out. Trying to get in the corporate hospitality at half time to get the fat bloke who had been gesticulating behind the glass in the first half and on the pitch at the final whistle.

Derby fans shocked in the chippy after that there was no mushy peas and the vinegar was white 😂

I don’t like to think of any Club having to go through what we endured.

    Not even L**ds, F***st or M*ll**ll!

All the best to Reading and Southend!

birmingham, middlesbrough and wycombe should go through what we endured!

Perhaps the title of thread could be changed to "Lack of sexism at PP". Been attending matches since 83/4 - never witnessed any sexist behaviour at any matches. All this from one idiot on twitter?

I think you must have been wearing ear plugs at the Baaseball ground in the 80's as there was a chant of "get your tites out for the lads" at every game.

Don't hear anything remotely sexist now.

For all the effort Derby put in in your stats...how many goals did we score?

Managers lose their jobs if the owner believes they're not good enough in delivering results on the pitch, These are LRs signings embargo or not, LR was let go after the Wycombe game, Some say he was told before the Wycombe game he's being let go ?‍♀️ The game where the Irish manager questioned as to why Knight is playing at RB, LR moves him to his preferred position and we win.

I can't argue with the home results as a wins a win, It doesn't matter how we achieved the wins 3 points are on the board

Come on - everyone was jumping for joy at every single signing. Not one person said "this is a team that will have 27 shots and not score"

Most of those signings plus the ones that stayed could have gone to Championship clubs. LR got them to sign for Derby. Now you're saying they were the wrong players?

    Charlton 1 Derby 0

    Shrewsbury 0 Derby 0

    Fleetwood 0 Derby 0

    Lincoln 2 Derby 0

Did the sands of time run out ?‍♀️

                               Shots             Possession          Passes             Pass Accuracy

    Shrewsbury -     13                           75%               768                     87%

    Fleetwood -        27                          62%               545                     82%

    Were the scorelines Liam's fault?

    Derby 2 Barnsley 1

    Derby 2 Peterborough 1

    Derby 2 Wycombe 1

  7. I can't get my head around why LR didn't get more time. I thought we were playing good, entertaining football and just needed to be a bit more clinical in the box.

That said, Liam has gone and we have Paul Warne. I like him, he's engaging and charismatic and that must bring some energy into the dressing room.

I do feel we have a team of Championship players who are now being asked to play league one football. The players we have are skilful and that skill is not being utilised.

If you are going to play "lump-the-ball-up" football you have to categorically win the 50-50 and second balls. To win the 50-50 and second balls you need big, physical, intimidating players, not the quick footed, agile, skilful players.

All good teams play to their strengths - I don't think we are doing that under PW.

We played more long balls against Plymouth (62) and Wycombe (63) than we did against Port Vale (52), so I'm not sure where the assumption we've now suddenly become a long ball team has come from?

We're getting the ball forward quicker, but not necessarily by long passing. It's usually just getting the ball forward, down the wings and then in the box. It's disappointing to lose a game that we should definitely be winning, but important to not let assumptions/prejudices get into the way of the facts.

There's long ball and there's long ball. The long balls against Plymouth and Wycombe were tactical in that the ball was played around the back to drag their forwards and midfielders in and then the long ball out to the flankers.

The long balls on Saturday were route one - down the middle. Stats do not show the full picture.

  9. As many have said, I was very disappointed with the style of football on Saturday. Lots of route one with the ball coming straight back at us into midfield where there was no Derby player to be seen.

Derby's goal was a classic example of what I want to see. Running at players with the ball (NML), pushed out wide (to JK), taken to the by-line and then crossed or laid back. Perfect goal.

After that, it was very boring to watch. I could probably stomach not being entertained if we win every week but I can't remember Derby playing like this since I stood in the Popside.

I do find PW's personality quite refreshing. He is charismatic and engaging in his interviews. I would imagine he brings more energy to the dressing room after a string of quietly spoken managers.

I will certainly not make a judgement of his style based on the one game I have watched but Saturday was not playing to the strengths of the players.

The task now for women’s football is to continue riding the wave.

Everyone was rugby mad when England won the World Cup with Johnny Wilkinson starring.

And again when England won the Ashes beating Shane Warne and co.

But both sports and the interest in it quickly died out when it came to the regular season.

Women’s football needs to convert the casuals into permanent followers.

True but coverage of the two sports was quickly bought by Sky which reversed any progress at grass roots. Out of sight, out of mind.

I haven't seen anyone on here who has posted anything that even remotely suggests anyone is threatened by successful women.

You appear to have a chip on your shoulder for some reason, but just because some people don't enjoy womens football doesnt mean they dont want to see them do well.

Christ, you're going to give yourself a heart attack. Do you get road rage?

Two centuries under various rule sets. 1.5 centuries on a more consistent set of rules. Or at least 6 centuries for football in england in general.

Not sure what the laughing face is for though. Mens football has been in england for a long time and women were banned from participating for virtually all of it.

Football didnt start with the premier league believe it or not!!

    Copied from thefa.com. Educate yourself!

Women’s football has a longer history than most people would expect.

There were a number of women’s clubs in the 1890s and one in north London was reported to have attracted a 10,000 gate to a game at Crouch End.

Preston was the stronghold of women’s football in its early days, the famous Dick Kerr’s Ladies being formed there in 1894 and earning a lot of money for charity.

    Ah - apologies.

Then i agree with your point. The mens game has had centuries to develop to the point it is at now.

Of course the initial level of the womens teams will be lower. They've not had as long to develop the infrastructure, etc, but over time they will get better and better

    How many centuries? ?

Sky Sports will be going bonkers over women’s football now. My prediction is they will scrap the 2pm Prem game now and your Sunday double header will be a woman’s game at 2pm and Men’s at 4.30pm.

PS just for the record , I didn’t watch a single second of the whole tournament as I have no interest in it personally.

You're not a football fan then? What are you doing on a fooball forum? It's like me going on a Formula One forum to tell everyone I didn't watch it because I have no interest.

  15. Women's football is what the men's game used to be and what it should be now. The Women's game is not making any multi millionaires. These ladies are in the sport for the love of the game - which is why they give 100%.

I have a daughter who plays football. The girls game at U9s, U10s, U11s, U12s etc is just as good as the boys and sometimes better. My daughter plays in the Nottingham girls and Ladies league for a team that beat Forest girls 9-3!

My Son plays in the YEL. Notts County girls play in that league and regularly hammer the boys.

Women's football is predominantly watched by girls and the families of those girls. I have been to several WSL matches and I have always enjoyed them. My daughter much prefers to watch the Women's game.

We have tickets at Wembley on Sunday for the Euro final and it will be a cracking day out for the family.

  16. Looking at seats available for the Oxford game, it looks like being a sell out.

I wonder if this is down to excitement over the recent signings and new ownership or a sign of the togertherness from last season staying for next.

Either way, it would be great to have attendances in the high twenties all season.
