My first time hearing Sweet Jane was on a Mott The Hoople album I purchased. Love both versions, as well as Cowboy Junkies redo of it, it's just one of those magical songs, hits a nerve, ya know. ziggyram59
As a massive David Bowie fan this song is a masterpiece from Space Oddity album. Bowie at his best in about 1969. Edited June 16 by ziggyram59
Comrade 86
A couple here I've not heard in a while. First up Ann Peebles who must have been 99ibs of dynamite if this is anything to go by. This one is a Groove Armada track played back in my old stomping ground and featuring the late, great Richie Havens. To follow that is tough, but I'm going to try with my favourite GA/Ritchie Havens collaboration, followed by the song that first got me interested in the great man. I saw Richie Havens in Dublin at Whelan's in 2005 (I think it was). Utterly spellbinding. Crewton

Animal is a Ram
* c-bomb warning * Some cracking songs on this album, especially this, the first track. I just love really clever, witty lyrics, like: Here's to walking in every room / Like ascending for an Oscar / Kissing hands and shaking babies
