Such a shame. The Academy really is struggling results wise. Let's hope it's paving the way for another golden generation to come through and, this time, we can make better use of them. Or just a single potential superstar - oh for another Giles Barnes!

Don’t right this generation off just yet… last night that team was missing Richards, Robinson, Brown and Moloney. Moore is just back from long term injury as well. This age group (both first and second year) are highly thought of at the club and in some cases across the game and are generating interest. Last night there were 4 u16s in the squad and the starting 11 was heavy with first years. Sheff Weds had all of their best players available and played as they always do… organised, aggressive and they bullied Derby which was what they wanted.

This group have Robinson, Richards, Hawkins, Wheeldon and Evans who have all been around the first team this season and are all creating interest. Add to them Davies and others starting to be involved with the u21s regularly. Being allowed to develop away from the first team will benefit them in the long term and not subject them to the pressure of mistakes and form in the first team too early and the damage that can do… see Sibley for an example.

Last night wasn’t great and as a team they didn’t really perform but there is real quality in this age group. There were Future first Team players on that field last night.

Thought Gough(?) sounded well involved last night. The bits I saw we put up a reasonable fight, with good passages of play.

They scored their goal after Gough had been off with cramp. Although he was back on pitch he was struggling so the centre back was sucked out to cover, leaving that gaping hole for Sheffield Wednesday to step into.

U21's 2-0 up at half time against QPR, Cybulski and Solomon the goal scorers.

Was that the final score, Jubbs?

I hate that our coverage of under 21 matches has almost disappeared.

Good to see Oduroh, Bardell and Aghatise getting minutes in the legs. They were all at Newport on Sunday, so they've done some travelling this weekend!
