You don't get lucky over a period of 38 games. They have stayed up on their own merits.

How many games did they win when the opposition missed a penalty to take the lead

theyve been lucky

West ham, brighton, brentford, palace

thats literally top of my head

Congrats Forest. In the end they deserve to stay up as they have shown up at the right time.

Who would have thought they’d beat the likes if Arsenal and Liverpool at home, hold City and pick up a draw at Stamford Bridge last summer?

Awoniyi has been so crucial since his return as well.

We will have our time again. In the meantime, Forest are top dogs in the East Midlands.

If the fat Greek is smart, he will hold onto Cooper for as long as possible.

If they stay in their lane, accept boring men-behind-the-ball football, resist thinking they should be higher/better, then they could stay up there for some time with Cooper.

They are very reminiscent of Blackburn under Allardyce. Brilliant home form, clean sheets, score from set-pieces, finish 13th - 15th every season with no real danger of relegation.

Blackburn, and the Venkys, let delusions get to them and they thought they were better than that, sacking Allardyce and then going down.

Forest could emulate that boring, horrific but established PL side.

But something tells me the fat Greek will want more after a year or two and they will implode.

Congratulations to them.

If you gain 10 points from 15 at the business end of the season and reverse a run of no wins in 11 to stay up, you deserve credit.

It’ll be interesting to see how things develop over the summer. Will they be able to hold on to Gibbs White, Johnson and Danilo? Will they be able to spend big again? What will Marinakis see as success next season?

You’d imagine they will be in a mini league of nine with Palace, Wolves, Bournemouth, Fulham, one from Leeds, Leicester and Everton, and the three promoted clubs.

Get it right and they can be towards the top  of that mini league. Get it wrong and they could be back in the Championship. It will be another high stakes season for them.

There were missed penatlies in only 2 of them games.

West Ham where Henderson saved the penalty, so not sure why you'd call that luck, that is the goalkeeper doing his job.

Crystal Palace where Zaha dragged his penalty wide.

As I said, you don't get lucky over a period of 38 games.

Best just to say well done for scraping survival, after spending in the region of £200m, and move on.

they all did miss pens against forest bar brighton… who had a perfectly good goal chalked off.

Too boot the brighton one forest got 2 v dodgy pens and a gift wrap freak og

missing a penalty is not converting from 12 yards doesnt matter how it happens from that short a range everyone knows theres a huge slice of luck if the pen is not converted 9/10 penalties are scored forest got lucky .. that goal changes the gsme totally and they would have to have come out and comitt instead of shithousing with 11 men behind the ball.

they got that first goal in games where the opposition created hatfuls of chances, liverpool, van dijk missed from literally the goal line. Forest then take that opportunity and fair play to them but they rode their luck on so many occasions

Isn’t he only on a one year contact? Probably due to pay him a nice survival bonus but then they can release him

Yes, a one year contract. Hopefully there's an obligation of a second year for survival 😉

Nope not social media b*******. That came Maranakis himself in his post match interview with Sky!!! 😳

Hardly a ringing endorsement for Cooper is it. The fans have kept him in the job but seriously wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t start next season as manager. Would be completely bonkers their best chance is to keep him for as long as possible and ride this wave.

They’ll be another Leicester in a few seasons but without the silverware!!
