You seem to lose courage in your post   , missing out the nasty provincialism of the header. We have had some great foreign players and DCFC is not UKIP.

Ireland is definitely foreign. They’re not even the same continent (bit Keogh is barely Irish).

We had josefzoon come on in the second half. He’s a bit foreign.

err yes they are

I was always excited in my younger years when we signed someone from abroad as it felt a bit exotic and held the promise of flair, and bringing something a bit different to the team. I don't need to reel off the names of those players that have graced the BBG and PP over the decades.

What I am excited about with this team is that we are getting the flair and excitement from some of 'our own' - and I would be just as excited if that were Elsnik and Ravas as I am that it is Bennett and Bogle.

To be honest, I don't even notice nationality any more, it's such a fluid concept in modern football. But I do notice good football and that should be the only thing that matters.

Well personally, I think it's disgusting that a football team from a certain country is largely made up of players from that country. If I supported Derby I'd have serious reservations about this, but then I don't support Derby because that would be small minded provincialism. I support all football clubs from across the globe equally.

Your thread title is just a play on the name of an old west end show - but it means that your simple observation and comparison with previous Derby teams is being read by some as an injunction.  So I think he’d probably say it's a farce.

I think to a large extent, the import market doesn't offer quite the same bargain potential as it did maybe 20 years ago, the scouting and information across the game has moved on so you're less likely to get an exceptional player for an average price or an average player very cheap, but get what you pay for by and large. Obviously, the wolves thing wasn't that they broke any rules strictly speaking, but they apparently didn't pay market rate for some very good players last year.  A situation which has apparently not been allowed to repeat itself this season (forest).

I kind of like that we've got mostly British and Irish players in the team, and some young ones from our youth team, it's not a big deal for me, being a good team and successful are far more relevant.

Always feel that we should be opening up to the foreign market more tbh, often British players are overpriced and aren’t as consistent. Seems to me our scouting net isn’t very wide... that said all I care about is how they play on the pitch not where they’re from so I’m more than happy to have a whole team of brits if they keep winning!
