Anyways I thought Baird did a good job for us, nothing spectacular but pretty solid and I'm sure he got paid well enough, good luck to him and his wife! wixman1884 Posted May 19, 2018 Share Posted May 19, 2018 Benty was a good servant for us, and was a force with ince in his loan spell at the end of 14/15. Too bad we were leaking goals at the other end. Seems like a lovely bloke too. Baird has been a professional over the years and done a decent job when called upon. I can't imagine Burton or Millwall affording them. And if so, do we get a loan fee or is the wage contribution it? Just wondering how much the saving will be. Fulham likely paid a loan fee (view to a permanent) plus Martin's wages last year, Reading perhaps similar. Your forgetting Butterfield was brought in under a very different regime and players also have fee factored in as the whole package cost , I’m willing to bet hudds ,Davies overall financial cost to the club when their contract is up will be far far lower than Butterfield even if we manage to get any fee for selling Butterfield Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well, getting rid of Bent, Shackell, Baird could easily be £5m of the total wage bill without the weakening the squad, it's not a bad start to the summer ?
