The dreaded 11th game

Unbeaten in 10 games sounds great, but 2 wins in the last 6 doesn't.

We need to get back to winning at Pride Park. That's where it could make all the difference with the likes of Fulham, Boro, Cardiff, Leeds, Brentford and Norwich to come there.

If we can win say 7 of our last 9 home games, with our solid away record we will grab that 2nd automatic slot.

This is the thing, our home form hasn’t really been good enough even over this run. Makes the draws away look worse because we simply aren’t picking up the three points enough at home. Realistically, last nights result ain’t bad, but because we failed to beat the likes of Sheff Utd at home we’re constantly chasing tough results away. We’ve got them so far, but it ain’t sustainable.

I suggest some who can't see the value of going on unbeaten runs look at the table and see where the teams are sitting who have drawn  few and either won or lost.  Would you swap places with any of these?

Forest have drawn 2 in the league so far this season and Ipswich have drawn 4 and have a fairly even win lose record.

I know where I would rather be.

The odds against a 50p landing heads up are 2-1

the odds against a 50p landing heads up ten times in a row are 2048-1

What are the odds against the 50p landing heads up at the 11th time of asking?

I think your stats are wrong. We didn't win ten in a row. We won or drew ten in a row.

2-1 so let's just go out for each game and win win win!

COYR!???????????

on each occasion it is the same odds; 2-1

the odds of it landing heads up (not losing) on Saturday is 2-1

but it is not a game of pure luck

We didn't lose any so it never landed tails up. The odds against the coin landing on its edge even once must be phenomenal!

PS apologies for leading the thread off topic.

I still reckon we'll win 2-1 BTW!

As pointed out in another thread, re Kasey Palmer, from Wikipedia...

He made his professional debut on 6 August, replacing Jack Payne in the 78th minute of a 2–1 win over Brentford. Palmer scored the winning goal after a minute on the pitch with just his second touch of the ball.

Get yer money on Kasey.

Get your money on a Brentford win this weekend.

Our longest unbeaten run in the league since 1995/6 is 10 games!

In 2014/15 we went 10 games unbeaten before losing to Wigan 1-2 at home.

In 2015/16 we went 10 games unbeaten before losing 1-0 to Forest at their shed.

In 2016/17 we went 10 games unbeaten before being battered 3-0 at Norwich City.

We’re currently on a 10-game unbeaten run with Brentford at PP next.

Can we finally break the mould at make it 11? To be honest, I don’t care much for unbeaten runs when you start to drop points with numerous draws.

Stumped a fiver on the Rams instead mate, anyway you were saying.
