14 games at Inter, time isn't something De Boer gets.

Won the Eredivisie 4 years on the trot though, even if that isn't the greatest of achievements, it shows it's not totally useless.

One of those things where it looks totally bonkers on the outside, yet if the players were completely against him and wasn't going to approve, why wait.

The mistake here probably isn't sacking him… it's not allowing him to rebuild the squad. You're not going to turn an Allardyce team into a footballing team with just three new players.

We all saw ourselves last season how badly it goes when you change style of play so starkly with just three signings coming in.

Stupid. Their Chairman was there yesterday watching, the went away to Burnley which is more difficult than one imagines, let one silly goal in that the manager can't stop and from there on wasted 3-4 good chances to score. On another day they'd have likely had a point as a minimum, though Burnley did decide to camp out from the 30th minute onwards with just the one goal.

Daft. Hired a footballing manager who only managed to bring in a few squad players. Their squad is bang average barring some excitement in Zaha etc, if they planned to stay as it was then why hire that kind of manager in the first place? Just hire a Hodgson and survive like that.

you cannot polish a turd and perhaps trying to turn Palace into a Cruyff team was foolish. I'm sure the nice payoff will soften the blow, and the escape from Selhurst Park.

That's what he was hired to do though, it was mentioned in his press-unveiling.

Ideally Palace should have set up loads of signings and sales to be completed upon his arrival and if they couldn't get them done then turn to Hodgson straight away.
