Carl Sagan Posted January 27, 2018 Share Posted January 27, 2018 Serious VAR so far in this game. Liverpool went 1-0 up early doors but WBA equalized within a minute. West Brom went 1-2 up and thought they'd gone 1-3 up but the ref looked at VAR and disallowed the goal. Then in an innocous incident in the WBA box was looked at on VAR and they decided to give Liverpool a pentalty, but it was missed. Then West Brom did go 1-3 ahead when VAR said it wasn't offside. Half-time. The second half only just started and West Brom had the ball in the net again but the lino flagged and they went to VAR to check and it was indeed offside, so stays at 1-3. You can't help look at the Liverpool pen and think how ridiculous it was not to use the technology to give us a penalty against Bristol City. It's about getting the decisions right. The idiocy here is the fans at the game don't see the replays. That will inevitably change in the next few weeks or certainly by next season, but what is it with the FA in the first place that they don't want the fans to witness the footage so they, too, can see that the right decision was made.
