Nuwtfly
David Nugent, when he chose Portsmouth. Think how lethal the bloke could have been for us over the years.
MackworthRamIsGod
Eidur Gudjohnson and Jonaton Johannsen both very nearly joined. Davor Suker also, allegedly.
FKANorwichExile
Whilst he's no Baggio, we apparently missed out on a young Yakubu because we couldn't get a work permit for him. Mysteriously, he turned up at Portsmouth later that season with a very wealthy agent... coincidence? Nah.

Yakubu was brought to the club by John Gregory, he was indeed at Derby, training, and playing friendlies / U23s or whatever it was called back then. Couldnt get a work permit to play first XI matches because at this point I dont think he was an established international. In his time at Macubi haifi (or however you call the Israeli side), he had married an Italian girl, and thus got a dual african/EU passport, after this Pompey had no problem getting a work permit for him. Ashz09
Yakubu still makes me sour. Wish we got him I remember him against us that Season and scoring a Hat-Trick against us. I think I threw up in my Mouth that day... Still bitter to this day!
