Still waiting for that signing that gets me excited.....this signing gives me the same feeling as when we signed Wilson and Vydra...

You might be waiting some time mate. I think we will get functional signings not wow signings.

Not necessarily looking for wow signings...just for better than we have currently got. Not sure Davis is much of an improvement on Keogh, Pearce or Shackell...

Definitely better than Pearce by a long way and better than Shackell in that he can distribute the ball as well as good in the air.

I'd be surprised. And a bit 'meh'.

I'm surprised, but not as 'meh' as i thought I'd be.

I'm loving the bargain aspect. Getting a competent, not past it player with a lot of Prem games under his belt for a reasonable price makes a nice change from paying through the japs for championship players.

Just seen a Hull fans poll on twitter was something like...

Do you think Davies will be a big miss next season... anyway 80% said yes

Do they mean he will be a big miss for us, the opposite of a big hit?

Seems like a good signing if he can stay fit.. We are strengthening an area where we were weak in the second half of last season and have done our business early. Good stuff, altho which CBs will Rowett keep now?

Athletic and seems to be attracted to the ball when under the cosh late on.

We've seen Pearce get mauled in a high-line and I suppose there should be question marks as to whether Shackell will still have the legs following a 'bitty' season.

Then there's the fact we know Rowett signed Shotts at Birmingham because he wanted a higher line.

It would also show a bit of thought into addressing our late goal problem.

I can see why. I can dig it.

Partner for Keogh if I were a gambling man.

Partner or replacement for Keogh? Shacks and Pearce both left sided .. As is Hanley who we are also rumoured to be interested in signing. I don't want to sell Keogh , but shacks or Pearce look surplus to requirements.

Kaspars Gorkss was left side at Reading wasn't he?
