To be fair to Baird, he's done a fine job

agree no reason to drop him, though with our left back issues he can shift over there

Good shout ,, Baird is really doing the job we bought him for i.e. Being a very solid right back but also very versatile to cover all across the back line

Definitely Baird's shirt to lose, but I'm far more comfortable knowing we have a specialist available.

Delighted to have Cyrus back. Need a couple of Left Backs fit now.

I'd move Christie over to left back, Baird and Ince are perfectly balanced.

When we first signed him Christie always used to be comfortable cutting inside, it'd be similar but he'd be doing it with his stronger foot.

Assuming we still have no fit left-backs by this point, of course!

That's not a bad idea at all. Personally I'd still be looking at bringing in a new RB despite Baird's good form, I feeling we've been lacking the width our full backs usually generate for us and we need to bring someone who has the athleticism to get up and down the right wing (preferably somebody who has a similar maturity on the ball as Baird).

agreed and I'd add that we seem to lack right footed flank players full stop.

Very true. Right now we really could do with a good right-footed inside forward to play on the left of the front three. It's one position I really wouldn't mind us spending on a good sized fee on because I think it's the position that can be improved the most. As we have talked about before I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being Vydra.

I'd really like to see this .. A front line of Vydra Nugent and Ince .. If they could get ammunition, would be pretty flipping frightening. Anyway .. Regardless and to stop myself drifting off to a favourite topic !! ....glad Cyrus is nearly there it's great to have choices and cover !

As I have said earlier, Christie makes a great sub for when the game is stretched in the last 20 minutes. If we are chasing game he can replace Baird. If we are holding on he could replace Ince or LW for the last 10 minutes.

Christie comes straight back in for me and im not his biggest fan. Think the lack of chances we are creating is due to not getting enough players forward. Neither of our full backs (bar when Anya played) over the last month have been an attacking threat at all, plus we dont get midfield players around and beyond the 3 forwards meaning we are very easy to defend against. Baird has done a good job defensively, however the modern game needs full backs getting forward and joining in, allowing the front 3 to be more fluid and closer together with their movements.

People will say Ince and Barid have a relationship, I disagree. Ince form is directly linked to McClaren and not Barid. Ince has just as good a record playing with Christie under McClaren as he does Baird from his first spell in charge.

If we dont bring a LB in, I would switch Baird acorss to fillt he gap out there until Lowe is fit to take over the reigns. Long term however, Christie and Lowe have to be our main full back options moving forward.
