wouldn't leave LA. No thanks.

You're probably right - he is married to a Yank and appears to have gone completely native.

Crystal ball - Kiev, 2018, last group game for England .....

87th minute, all subs used ...,..  England 1 (4, Vardy) Tibet 2 (81, 82)

Gareth standing on touchline, arms crossed, brow furrowed, out of ideas.

English fans stand frozen. (Russia, geddit?)

We're going out.

On BBC, Alan Shearer doing his funeral blame-game monologue.

Same old same old.

Southgate, who has only managed 'Boro for a short period of time and the U21, yet is going to be the next England manager. To me this will be just until the World Cup and England will look for another candidate as we always do.

I think he should stay interim manager or appoint someone they actually want. Definitely wouldn't be the FA's choice, it's just the lack of candidates. Wenger would be ideal

Totally non-plused about it.  It's not the manager that's the problem, it's the players.  Unless he's thinking of pulling a Greece in '04 and defending our way to championship.  The talent isn't there due to wasting the 70's, 80's, 90's & early 00's thinking we're superior to everyone just because we're English...
