Oh ye of little faith

Ok it looks like it's all over but the fat lady hasn't finished singing and Elvis isn't quite out of the building.

do you remember the year we beat west brom in the final ?

Forest had beaten Yeovil in the play off semi first leg 2-0 at their ground and took them back to the city ground for what everybody expected was to be a foregone conclusion !

Yeovil got an early goal and went on to win the two legs 5-4 in extra time.

if we get an early goal on Tuesday then anything is possible, we just need to make sure that we turn up on the night.

i think starting bent and dropping Johnson have to be two certain changes.

we need goals and if we start with the same eleven as today it ain't gonna happen.

push Hughes to forward of the midfield and make room for bent upfront.

lets believe for one last time ! Before we put this balls up of a season to bed !

Nottm Forest 2-5 Yeovil

Yeovil win 4-5 on aggregate

Davies scored Yeovil's first and fifth goals

Arron Davies' double sent Yeovil to the League One play-off final after a pulsating win over Nottingham Forest.

Davies fired past Paul Smith on 22 minutes following a slaloming run.

Scott Dobie equalised for Forest, who were then rocked by Alan Wright's own goal, Marcus Stewart's thumping header and a red card for David Prutton.

In extra-time Lee Morris' shot put Yeovil ahead on aggregate, before Gary Holt volleyed home for Forest, but Davies' cool finish proved decisive.

Yeovil had dominated much of the first semi-final despite losing 2-0 and that pattern repeated itself at the City Ground.

Davies' ability to move at pace with the ball was a joy to watch, while Stewart's intelligent play in attack posed Forest all sorts of problems.

If Yeovil troubled the Forest defence, Smith proved altogether more resilient, with the Forest goalkeeper making a series of top-class saves throughout the game.

Stewart could easily have had a hat-trick had it not been for Smith.

Yeovil's superior passing saw the visitors take an early grip on the game and Davies' wonderful goal was just reward for a positive start.

The Welshman picked up the ball just inside the Forest half and went on a run that took him to the edge of the penalty area.

As the Forest defenders backed off Davies proceeded to unleash a shot past Smith.

Just past the half-hour Smith made a remarkable double save, spreading his body to deny Morris and then getting up quickly to divert Stewart's shot over the bar.

It must have made agonising viewing for the Forest faithful, who had come to the City Ground in their droves for what they must have expected would be an easy passage to the final after their 2-0 semi-final first-leg win.

Dobie was one of the few Forest players to give the home fans something to cheer about, notably when he went close with a curling shot.

And two minutes after the restart it was Dobie that equalised with a downward header following a McGugan corner.

Smith continued to frustrate Yeovil, but he could only watch as substitute Jean-Paul Kalala's curling shot came back off the post and struck Wright before trickling over the line.

The goal made the score 2-1 to Yeovil, but the visiting team still trailed 3-2 on aggregate.

And Forest were within three minutes of Wembley when Stewart powered a header past Smith in the Forest goal to level the tie overall.

Forest found themselves a man down when substitute Prutton was sent off after picking up a second yellow card shortly before the tie went into extra-time.

Worse was to follow for Forest when Morris capitalised on Wes Morgan's awful error early in the first period of extra-time to put Yeovil ahead on aggregate for the first time in the two semi-finals.

But Yeovil only held their aggregate for lead for a minute as Holt guided a volley past Mildenhall.

In the second period of extra-time Forest, who had used all their substitutes, went effectively down to nine men due to an injury to Wright.

And Davies sealed Yeovil's remarkable win after exchanging passes with Morris, before shooting past Smith.

There is a flaw. We are playing Hull mate. Not sh!tty Forest.

Yeah ?

We beat hull twice this season already didn't we ?

And one of those times was 4-0 ?

And we beat sh1tty forest once ?

So where's the flaw ?

Or do we just think feck it and wait to go through it all again next season ?

nothing wrong with a bit of positivity how ever unlikely it is !

As we look ahead to Tuesday, can we learn from one of Wassall's worst afternoons? On 12th March in eight short minutes, we conceded three goals for Rotherham to equalize.

Remember too that on 27th November last year, we scored two first-half goals without reply away at Hull. Imagine how they would feel if we did that again?

We have already beaten Hull by four goals once this season.

Great football comebacks can and do happen. There've been a few examples this season, the strangest season in a long time. If Leicester can win the Premier League, we can win 3-0 away at Hull.

Everyone's understandably despondent, but football is nothing without hope. This is a moment to make history. No one's come down from a two goal deficit in the Championship playoffs before - what a ridiculous stat that is, just begging to be overturned. If we score the first goal, especially in the first half, the doubts will begin to set in. If we can bag a second they might fall apart in much the same way we did against Rotherham. It might only take eight minutes.

Come on you Rams!

[Edited Ejurovision postscript: If Poland can go from 7 points to 229, anything is possible.]

Play George Thorne in crutches, we might have a chance then.

FFS the season is over. Enjoy the match as you will but we simply will not be going to Wembley.

You're right, of course. But so is loweman, and that's the beauty of sport. The odds are against us and apparently it has never been done before, but it CAN be done. It is not impossible, just very difficult.

We have no choice other than to approach Tuesday believing we can do it. Meek surrender like we saw yesterday is not an option. We have very little chance as it stands. Without belief we have none. All of us, players, fans the lot have to forget about yesterday. It's done. The players need to prove to themselves that they want it and go at Hull from the off. An early goal for us will make it interesting - it can very difficult playing against a side with no fear of losing.

clutching at straws - maybe, but with the right attitude anything is possible.

i think it has to be remembered that some posters on here are actually glad of the result on saturday and rubbed their hands in glee at being able to reappear on here after a forced absence when we were doing well

of course we can get a result on tuesday if the lads step up to the mark but there are many 'supporters' on here that need to raise their game too

we need an early goal so flat out from the start,

inject some pace and scare the shat out of them so they don't know what has hit them, no good tip tapping around the box as they will park the bus, we need to run through the bus like road runner used to !!

start Razza and Bent up front, there is nothing to lose and everything to gain,

Razza is well up for it lets hope the perennial bottlers are as well.
